I have been going to Tosler Davis for years. The salon is lovely. It's got a fantastic vibe. The entire staff makes the client feel cared for. Albert is an amazing hairstylist and colorist. I truly believe that he's an artist. I've sent my friends and daughters to him. I always walk out of the salon on a cloud.

Can't live without them. Years and years of my haircare have been placed in their capable hands. Trust them .

Do you regularly get compliments on your hair color? And then admit slyly that's its not natural, it's all Tosler Davis? Because I do, often! I've been a red head for over 10 years and most people have no idea it's not my natural color. JD is just THE BEST, not to mention a stand up human. The whole team is a pleasure - polite, professional, cheerful - I look forward to seeing them all every couple of months.

Jermina is incredible. I have been coming here for years. She does long hair styling as well as short. Never a bad cut. The atmosphere is wonderful and calming. The best shop in New York.

Ok. So this will date me... I've been going to Thea (a.k.a. The Rock Star) since ~1999. Before seeing her I didn't know that there was a huge difference in quality between those quick in and out shops and a true professional. I was young and foolish. But yup! There is definitely a big difference. Her cuts last me MONTHS which is great because I don't live in the city. They retain their shape and are always flattering. Big props to her talent.

Jermina James is the best in the business. I found her 12 years ago and won't go to anyone else. She is the best in NYC, and anywhere else I've been. She cuts my hair and my daughter's hair. Flawless cuts, she knows our hair so well, and she is the kindest person and a joy to be with.

I look, maybe, 100% better after a haircut at Tosler Davis, and get LOTS of compliments.

All my life I always jumped in the shower after I left a hair salon to redo my blow-out. But I've been going to Albert at Tosler Davis for several years now and I try to go as long as possible before I wash his brilliance from my hair. (Once I lasted 7 days!) I have my hair cut, colored, highlighted and styled and it has never, ever looked better. I love my hair and for most of my life I hated it.. Although I always go to the same person, I watch what other people are doing and every person in this salon is exceptional. Women have stopped me on the street to ask who cut my hair. No better compliment than that.

Sean is the best colorist hands down. When I have highlights, people stop me in the street and say, "Wow! I love your hair!" So subtle.

Intimate Cosy Salon Staffed with Top-notch Pros. John Kovacs gives me the best haircut I've ever had. So glad I found him!

Customer service was good and I could make an appointment quickly but the appointment did not go great. It is dark in the shop and perhaps that is why she could not see the color of my finished hair. And also the only that I stated was " I DO NOT WANT MY HAIR TO TURN ORANGE' Well it turned orange and you could surely see that when you left the salon. Blowout was flat and dull. They did try and offer me a re-do but I do not live in NYC. And I still have not seen a refund unfortunately.

I moved out of NYC in 2004 and still make the trip from Arizona to get my cut and color done at Tosler Davis. Alan and Sean do a superb job! The salon experience is top notch.

This is a wonderful salon, and Albert is the best stylist I've ever encountered. He's a hair magician and a good soul, too. Everyone at Tosler Davis is friendly and kind, and the vibe is relaxed and unpretentious. When you walk out after your service, people on the street look at you because you look -- and feel -- so great.

Alan and his staff are the best. From the minute you enter, they are very attentive and make you feel as if you are their only customer.

I have curly(ish) hair which is tricky to cut short, but Alan nails it every time. I have been going to him since they opened. I even moved out of state, but make it a point to make the trip when I need a haircut.

Love Sonia - she's an amazing colorist and the salon is very relaxing. Everyone from the front desk to the stylists are very sweet.

I have written about this salon before but wanted to update my review. I have now been going here for 12 years and have never been disappointed. My haircuts conitnue to be perfect and the color processing is natural and lovely. People often stop me and ask where I get my hair cut and who does my color. The staff is warm, welcoming and always professional and courteous. I have recommend this salon to many people and continue to enjoy doing so.

Alan Tosler and Sean Davis are the very best hair stylist/colorists ever. I have hair that is thin and bland - they magically made it look full and vibrant and beautiful. And they are great people too.

Alan Tosler took my unruly hair and made it ruly, without quite taming it. He respected what it naturally does. He even invited me to come back in a few days, so that he could see what it did once it got used to the way he'd cut it. No one has ever done this. And in a relaxed,, matter-of-fact way.

I had my first appointment at Tosler Davis last week. I will be a frequent customer there as my stylist Shane just joined their team. Shane is a phenomenal stylist. His eye for color is the best I've seen. I am about as anal as it gets when it comes to my hair yet I am extremely comfortable with him. The compliments I receive regarding both my cut and color are endless, he truly is one of a kind.

I have been going to Tosler Davis for over 20 years. With Covid I was forced to use a local hairdresser and learned, yet again why Alan Davis is so good. Now I am back to making the 2 hour trip from Riverdale to have my hair cut because it is worth it. At first I grew my hair long and it looked terrific at each stage and now I have it very short. It is the only place where I am happy to go out immediately after a cut; people have stopped me on the street and at events to ask where I get my hair cut. I love the location too - it isn't fussy, just a handsome space and a place that is all business: cutting and coloring.

Tosler Davis is an incredible salon. Beautiful, airy and exceptional quality of service. Patty Mocarski has been my stylist for nearly 10 years and is truly the best - love her on both a personal and professional level. She has transformed my hair and made it infinitely healthier and more manageable - gives the most beautiful blowouts and even did my hair on my wedding day. My color looks natural, my hair is healthy (and I swim a few times a week) and no one sees the perky grays. Alan is amazing, my haircuts last for over 6 months. Always looking fantastic.

Tosler Davis is the absolute best! They are doing an amazing job of keeping us all safe and beautiful. Everything is cleaned and sanitized and they provide disposable masks so you don t get color on your reusable one. The whole staff is going above and beyond to make sure everyone is safe, healthy, and gorgeous.

I'm a virgin dark brown hair from birth. I had zero chemical put on my hair since 2017 when I did keratin every few months, but no color. In June/July, I went platinum blond, by my own hair stylist. I decided to have my roots done in the end of September by Arthur at Tosler Davis. For a "high-end" salon, aside from the "fancy" address and charging $350 to do just 2" of roots only from my ears up (I left everything below to continue growing out as noone would see it), I came out with fried orange hair. Literally, burnt off at least 3" chunks of hair in the front going from my hairline back to the point where I look like I have terrible bangs. Arthur would not admit to doing this, he called the hair "dark blond" and said he didn't color any of the front. ok, so why do my before and after photos look the way they do, plus I have a photo in the salon with the foils on and sitting under the heater for 45 minutes. Not sure what kind of schooling you got, but no other colorist would agree to put 40 volume in foils and put someone under the heater. I know you were in a rush to get to the social event you were attending that evening, but....you have now left me with permanent damage for the next 2 years while this grows out and I'm emotionally extremely depressed, sad, and have no more positive self-esteem because all I do is look in the mirror and cry. Initially, they were supposed to refund my money and "fix" my hair - then when Arthur saw it, he realized he couldn't do anything but dye it back to dark and he blamed everything on my previous stylist's job. When I agreed to go dark and made my appointment I requested to talk to one of the owners. Sean Davis called me a few days later, talked over me the whole time, defended Arthur and said they would send me a check and wished me the best of luck. Refunding my money is not going to fix this, Sean. It's going to cost me so much money over the next few years to try to salvage whatever I have left without going bald.See you in small claims court and I'll be reporting to BBB

I love Tosler Davis - the atmosphere, both elegant and relaxed, the friendliness, and most of all Alan's magical talent.

Amazingly consistent! Robert has been cutting my hair for a number of years. He starts our session with a conversation about my preferences and always manages to give me a haircut that doesn t look like one.

I have been going to Tosler Davis for 10+ years and it's the only place where I get my hair cut and colored. I've tried a few places over the years for coloring but this is the only place to get consistently amazing results. Sean has done my balayage twice and he does beautiful work. My previous stylist left and I've started working with Albert who gave me an amazing haircut (and still looks fantastic months later).

Ps- live in Queens and will absolutely make the trip 3-4x a year.

They are attentive to everyone's individual needs and quirks, but will talk you down gently from that asymmetric purple perm you suddenly desire the day before a big event. The salon is fun, friendly and eminently chic. No wonder they have such a loyal following in the art world. I highly recommend Sean and Alan and their gem of a salon.

Tosler Davis is the most professional salon I have ever experienced. You are always greeted warmly, asked if you would like a beverage and brought to your stylist quickly. Though I no longer live in NYC, whenever I can get back I make a point of having my hair done by Alan and Sean. They are not inexpensive, but, as in all things, you get what you pay for.
