The Torpedo Factory is located by the water on King Street and houses a large number of art galleries. I always have fun browsing shops and talking to artists. This is a great place to find unique gifts.

Really cool and huge art gallery in Old Town Alexandria. This place was an actual Torpedo factory originally! A ton of artist studios and galleries. A LOT of talent in the place! Saw some awesome works! The art is spread out in the artist's studio so that you can stop, look, and talk to the artist. Definitely worth the visit!

I thought it was just ok. Tends to skew to the crafting/ older style of art.

Curious place that mixes art with teasing at exorbitant prices.

Very nice use of space which was a tarpedo factory, now an art center.
3 stories of art exhibits from oil paint to glass etching, jewelry,metal art, sculpture and what not.

One of my favorite things to do in Old Town Alexandria. It was the first place I took guests when I lived there. There is always something need to see, and the opportunity to interact with the artists is fun & unique. There are also many quaint & interesting ships restaurants & bars in the vicinity.
And if there is the man who plays the glass harp (or singing wine glasses), he had quite a repertoire and it's full of fascinating information.
A fantastic new art installation involving colored glass, mirrors & colored lights had been added just beside the torpedo factory. It's beautiful during the day, but by far much more interesting & appealing after dark!

Interesting and beautiful art. Loved it but it closed so early we did t get to see all levels.

Many studios selling their art works, mostly paintings. I like how they preserve a historic building.

This is a terrific place for shopping and browsing. Stop and speak with the artists before you leave the shops. It s worth the time.
The Factory is perfect for touring visitors and groups. Everyone can go their own way and still be in the same place. Great place to take classes as well!

The harbor and at the heart of Old Town, what more could you want?

Will add to my review at a later date. In order to fully justify a fair opinion, I would need at least a day. There is a lot to take in.

An interesting spin on a historic landmark. Beautiful galleries and studios. A must see if visiting the Old Town district of Alexandria

The Torpedo Factory Art Center is a great alternative to the old Alexandria shopping district. You can easily spend an hour or two walking through the different galleries. You get to meet the artists too! The art is varied from sculpture to paintings. There is much to see. The Torpedo Factory Art Center also serves an an event venue.

If you are here for the art, it's an awesome place entirely indoors. Great for escaping the heat. This really is an authentic place of history. Even if aren't in to art from local artisans, go for the history. There is a tiny hands on history center upstairs. I really was simply inspired to look around and envision how all of the manufacturing must have been like back in the day moving equipment and torpedos from one bay to the next. Enjoy.

I came across a DC museum by chance, but I was really lucky to be here.

Fun place to visit, but artist studios are often closed and you never know if they'll be open or not.

I nice place to walk around and explore local art work, and local street musicians.

The Torpedo Factory, Beautiful art, where you can actually see and meet the artist "if" their studio is open, grab a bite to eat, or take photographs by the water, or just sit and watch the boats peacefully go by, eat ice cream!! Its in Old town and there is a lot of retail, Thai food, Irish pub, American burgers, seafood..Take a walk in the park.. This is a relaxed area.

Great local arts center located in a converted torpedo factory. There are three floors of artists studios. There is a variety of artwork, including photography, painting, and sculpture. This is an excellent place to buy art from local artists.

Great space to go enjoy your time in Old Town. Plenty of free galleries to browse through or purchase artwork from local artists. I was given a tutorial on how some of it was created while visiting.

A destination location if you are visiting the DC area. Great art, in studios when the actual artists are plying their trade. Some studios will ship your purchases to your home so you don't have to travel with them in your luggage.

Beautiful center in downtown Alexandria. Plenty of nice stores.

Everything was great, atmosphere, a Chef at our table, food cooked to perfection, drinks filled before we asked! I had shrimp & grits and it was a gastronomical delight!

This was a deep sea dive into the old world made new! A old torpedo factory remodeled to be an art heaven!

Good place but for attending to paint classes is so expensive...

Unique venue. Can clearly see how it used to be a real torpedo factory and the beautiful artist's sanctuary it has been transformed into.

This place is fantastic. From photography to abstract multimedia to sculpture, the art is wonderful to peruse, and the artists were available to talk about all aspects of the craft. The space is terrific and I will definitely visit again when I'm in town.

Great place to visit and purchase works from local artists. Prefect family outing.

It is worth a visit if you like to purchase art or artfully crafted products. Some products a bit over priced but others while not cheap were within reason. Don't go in thinking it is a torpedo museum because there are only a couple of displays to represent what the building was once used for. It is right on the harbor. If it's a good day there are water tours available and some excellent restaurants to take in the beautiful water views.

What a wonderful place to see and talk to artists in their studios. So much beautiful works of art.

Most of the artists are really friendly, good place to look at art, crazy expensive place to BUY art.
