We have our two kids at Burgundy. The campus is surrounded of nature so the teachers take every opportunity to teach science, math, art, P.E., and more outside. The kids learn in a very fun environment. Burgundy works to build self-confidence so the kids grow up believing in their capacities. Burgundy truly embrace diversity. The teachers are great, lovely, experienced and constantly learning new education methods. The playgrounds are great. We are very happy with our decision of selecting Burgundy for our little treasures.

Really nice school. Went to an open house and they've got something good going. Students are introduced to outdoor time and not just being into electronics all the time. This is a great school. If only public schools could be like this...

The best school ever! The program is project based and multiple subjects are taught together. It teaches respect for the natural world and the kids have lots of creative playtime outside, which our son and his classmates love!

Excuse me but I am pretty sure you're some fake troll trying to lower parents' interests on this school. You have used the same complaint on two schools including Browne Academy and Burgundy Farm. I would suggest you stop because what you're doing is wrong.

Anyway, this school is fantastic and my cousins are having amazing experiences here. I plan on coming to burgundy next year, I will be in the 8th grade. Burgundy is such a genuinely great place, students get connected to nature through their Coopers Cove program and other events they have at their school. Burgundy also gets students engaged in learning using fun games to play. Some things students experience at burgundy include, swimming, gardening, sports, camping and making friends. Burgundy is a unique, diverse place that lets everyone express who they are and what their feeling. It is a vibrant place that is accepting of everyone, no one feels left out everyone is included. You should send your children here because it is one of the best things you would ever experience.

We love this school! Child centered, experiential learning on a beautiful campus. The kids get lots of time outside in nature and learn to be responsible, self-advocating members of the community. They learn so many skills and are always excited and engaged.

We could not have chosen a better place for our daughter to grow up. Burgundy has not only provided her with a safe, stimulating environment in which to learn but has allowed her to be a child in a world where it's hard to do so these days. The teachers have spent time getting to know our daughter as a person and she's thrived as a result. The investment we've made in Burgundy is giving her a foundation on which to build a productive, happy high school life -- and beyond. We have a happy, confident child -- what more can you ask for?

Burgundy Farm Country Day School. If you are inter...

Burgundy Farm Country Day School. If you are interested in knowing something more about different approaches to children education, you have probably read about Montessori and Progressive education. In many parts of the world, -including most of the public USA schools, traditional education is the main way to take kids from early stages through high school.

Burgundy Farm is one of the private schools that uses the Progressive education approach to make children learn.

By just entering the school you realize you are in a different place from regular schools. Most of the area is under the canopies of a forest, and the school takes advantage of it to teach children. Kids are taught to respect nature, the environment but not only from a school classroom but also the daily experience of being in one. Classrooms have big windows to let the forest in. Just being in them provides children with awesome views, colors, flora and fauna. One example of how they work, in Kindergarten, children do not only talk, read and draw about Monarch Butterflies but also see them in the campus and experience the whole transformation process until butterflies fly to southern lands. They do not stop the process there without making children understand the impact of losing butterflies in our fragile life cycle.

This is just one little example of how Burgundy teach children, how they learn, how they create a stronger connection of our future generations with our planet earth.

Creativity is in the whole learning process, from Math to reading, to foreign languages, art, music, P.E., etc. Teachers are very knowledgeable, well prepared, very experienced, in constant training and always searching for better learning ways.

The school also have a campus in West Virginia for Nature and Science investigation to which kids start traveling from first grade. This is a very enriching experience where kids learn more about nature. Just in first grade they start collecting data, making informed inferences, and using the tools and knowledge in a hands-on way on this wonderful campus.

Burgundy also has a barn, where kids learn to interact with animals, how they are beneficial to human beings and get to take care of them and feed them.

Cross learning in most subjects solidifies the knowledge of children and diversity the respect and inclusion of all people of different background and beliefs. Another aspect of Burgundy that I really like is their focus on teamworking, one of the requests in any job offer and in our daily lives. Burgundy nurtures curiosity which is the first step to any learning process.

Burgundy helps build a strong parent community which helps some children's family with low income be part of this school.

I do recommend this school to anyone. It will provide an integral education to you children while having fun at the same time.

My oldest daughter went from JK to 8th grade and had a wonderful, enriching experience. She was extremely well prepared for High School and is an independent, well grounded, empathetic, self advocating young woman. Even though she is now in 10th grade, her closest friends are STILL from Burgundy! The 25 acre campus where your child will spend a great deal outside is unsurpassed...and wait until they go to Coopers Cove, the 500 acre second campus in Capon Bridge, WV where they are instilled to their core with the teachings of nature. We are growing self-aware children connected to this world. My second daughter is in the Middle School and has also attended from JK and she wouldn't want to be anywhere else, neither would I.

I went here from JK to 5th grade. I really like this school, but I think all the kids there all. I think the kids are kinda sheltered. But in the lower grades, it was a great school. Then when I transferred to a different school they didn't make fun of me, but they did make fun of Burgundy

Burgundy has been fantastic for our girls in every way. We love the use of the outdoor campus and the connection to nature, the sense of community and civic responsibility, the academic, music and art programs. It is great to be able to drop off kids every morning who are excited to be there.
