The old torpedo factory is now a multi art gallery where small independent artists display and sell their own artwork. The place could offer so much more, first to explain its role and history, the current space and exhibit is really small to say the least. The artists and galleries could be better promoted.
Very interesting. We saw many pieces of beautiful art ranging from paintings, fiber art, jewelry, sculptures, and more. The artists were friendly.
Wonderful to explore this space and talk with the artists while they create.

If you are into arts and crafts this is a must place to visit. You can easily spend two hours looking, buying and chatting with the makers.
Neat place. Lots of interesting art in several mediums. Neat old building. Parking building right across street that had open spaces. We bought a painting while there. The artist was very friendly and helpful. I would give the place 5 stars but several shops weren't open so I knocked it down a smidge.

The art here is so beautiful and displayed in an organized fashion. Also, the artist's were friendly and didn't pressure me to buy their work. I felt comfortable to browse and did not feel obligated to purchase anything yet I still did anyways. I could tell that the artists that I had visted had put a lot of work into their creations. Like I said I enjoyed majority of the artwork I saw. The whole experience was phenomenal.

A weird little building with small shops for independent sellers inside. Apparently available for private parties because it closed early for one the night we were there.

This is an Art Gallery and art classes are available in upper level. The Gallery is located by a populat waterfront in (Downtown) Old Town, Alexandria. It offers studios for rent to display art,etc. Also, has monthly evening & daytime events. Depending on day & time there is some free parking. Otherwise, metered pay parking and nearby lots available.
Awesome venue by the waterfront that frequently hosts lots of fun activities. Definitely worth checking out.

We went here for the restrooms, but then amazed and by all the great artworks in the hallway. Ended up strolling the 3 storey building happily. Great for kids to.
Great art gallery conglomerate! Fine art and folk art as well as eco friendly art. Great for finding gifts or as an afternoon stroll through an inspiring Alexandrite locale.
The Torpedo Factory has a truly wonderful variety of artists making/creating all kinds of wonderful and beautiful items. They are generally personable. Pricey items, but original art always is, and usually worth it if you find something you truly love. chances for that are high here.

This is a hidden gem. If you haven't visited, what are you waiting for? What I love the most is the interaction with the artists. Not only do you get to see what they created, but you can also ask questions or watch them create right in front of you. We visit every time we're in Old Town!
Overated. There is some good art here but most of it is contemporary and not very good.

Fun place to view locally created artwork by some talented artists. Great converson of an old industrial building into something that is a boon to the community and local economy! The artists themselves are often present in their individual studio spaces. Also has an art store and a historical and archeological exhibit on an upper level. If you have not yet visited this place -- you must!
While much of what's here is out of my price range, the facility is really neat and the art is beautiful.

The largest art cooperative in the US, connecting Alexandria's Founder's Park to Oldtown, the Torpedo Factory offers a wonderful variety of art in many media at a range of price points. A great way to promote appreciation for carefully crafted creative and imaginative objects of all sorts.
Crazy awesome place for artsy people. It's a combination exhibit, market and active studio.

We spent a good amount of time walking around to see most of the shops and what they had in display, but the most rewarding part was to be able to talk to some of the artists. There were several who were actively working on their craft right for all to see. Watching the creativity was extremely memorable. There are items on sale ask throughout the 3 floor facility and when we're not is such travel mode, will be back for a shopping visit

Located in beautiful Alexandria, the Factory offers plenty of options for art buyers. The Art League School also operates here, and I highly recommend it for art lessons.

The Factory Art Center was excellent. The artists are very passionate about their work with potential buyers. It is a great place to learn about Social Justice and to purchase art that represent social concerns.
Interesting location. A lot of history. A lot of art. 3 stories in fact. And the art ranges from paperwork, to wood, painting, engraving, etchings, metalwork, and more. In addition to the art, there are giant old torpedos with descriptions.
