Went there while visiting the area, some of the art was interesting but for the most part it was just played out. Certain works displayed political views which I don't think is necessary. I know art is supposed to display a message or a feeling but some of these works showed blatant negative political views. Other that that it was just a run of the mill art studio/gallery. Also by the looks of the building it seems that the artists work there but in most of the sections there was no one at all. I just found that a bit strange. It might have been the time or day that I went though.

Amazing place, to be able to see artists working in each store was awesome! Variety of art mediums, for all tastes. Even have a snack shop inside for kids/dad who are bored from the art. Bathrooms as well :)

Free spot in old town by the waterfront. Probably more interesting if you're looking for some art pieces rather than just stopping by, but they did have a few art displays that were interesting.

This is a very unique place to visit while in Alexandria, VA. There is a verity of shops and items to look at. You can purchase items from any shop that are up for sale. You have multiple levels to view the stores (they do have an elevator). It's worth checking out all the art there is to offer here. Everyone had their own beautiful interpretation of art. Right outside the building there is a boardwalk where you can find restaurants and a small park. Go check this place out.

Very unique and wonderful place - so many different styles of art in dozens or maybe hundreds of rooms. You can watch the artists create their works and ask them questions. Absolutely worth checking out.

You could easily spend an entire day here checking out the art! I'm not really a person who is into art, but I loved this place. If you don't like weird giant vagina pieces, then you can check out the awesome artwork on skulls, or see some amazing watercolors. If you just like pictures of red radishes, they have that, too. Something for everyone, and you get to learn something about history along the way!

The Torpedo Factory never disappoints! Artists work and sell in the Factory. As a visitor, it s not unusual to to run into the artist who created the piece you want to buy. And during warmer months, you frequently find street musicians or magicians performing behind the Factory on the dock. Really fun, entertaining place to visit!

Great place to read about the history of how the factory was use during the war and after. The art galleries and little shops are nice to browse and buy handmade items. During the Christmas holiday, there is usually a little band that play wonderful Christmas music. Thus is such a great location right on the Old Town pier with beautiful views of the Potomac River.

Lots of shops and restaurants right on the water. Also, a Marina, which only adds to the beauty of it all. Parking can be tricky, but free, (yes I said free) trollies run all day to alieve you from too much walking.

Really neat place to wander around for an hour and a place I recommend to visitors in town. Dozens of different art spaces with variety of working artists. Sure most of the art itself is likely overpriced for casual buyers but found a couple nice photo prints that now hang in my apartment. rotating galleries mean that new stuff to be seen every couple weeks.

Awesome place to stop and visit. The art is fantastic and it's a neat building overall. Come in and cool off. Most of the art is quite expensive, so don't expect it on the cheap. Be a patron of the arts if you can, there are all kinds of mediums to check out.

This is a large and wonderful repurposed venue. There are still relics from before, but now each room has been repurposed with local shops that range from metal working, digital photography, and opinion pieces all around.

Love that this place is Free!! A nice place to walk around, enjoy art, interact with local artists, and even find new art for your home! More communities around the USA need a facility like this. The urban industrial vibe of the building attracts people of all ages and the art applies to all. I love the interactive exhibits that can attract to children. What makes this place most unique however, is that most artists are located in house. You can easily talk to them about their work. It makes purchasing it much more tempting!

We were under impressed after expecting a little too much. I expected more history and displays with the building being a munitions center. The art is great, and it's great to stroll by or into the store fronts. However, if you want to buy, it's expensive and there's not a lot of art under, say $300. There's also only 1 small place for food and refreshments. The location is excellent, right by the ferry boat docks, nice restaurants, and it's a great place to start a walk down King street.

If you're into local art, this is a great place. There is nothing else here except 1 torpedo with a placard on information about it and how it was made. As a former factory, you'd think there would be more history and or a tour?
