There are some high end artists in here selling their art, the building itself is clean, well maintained and is steeped in history with examples of the torpedos that came out of this factory in the second world war. This place also houses an art school on the third floor which offers a wide array of art classes ranging from drawing to silver jewelry making and everything in between.

My first stop at the Torpedo Factory is always the Scope Gallery. For ceramic art, the variety and quality are mind boggling. Prices range from very affordable on up. For years I was drawn to the work of Bev Andrews. As well as exhibiting at Scope, she now shares a studio with watercolor artist Rachel Collins on the third floor (studio 342). It's worth seeking it out if you want to get something special. Bev is always experimenting with new shapes and colors and glazes. Prices are amazingly affordable for such beautiful and unique works of art.

Great location, with beautiful and interesting local art. Three floors of open art studios provide a unique experience for the public in that people can talk to the creatives in-person and sometimes see work being created on the spot. It's a nice day activity for all ages, especially because of the surrounding shops, restaurants and sites. For artists, there are art classes, gallery shows and opportunities to join the collective. I have a residency there for August 2017 and the experience has been enjoyable.

Individual artists have galleries within the Torpedo Factory. Most of the artists use the back of their gallery as active studio space which makes it such a unique experience to observe works in process. There are many different mediums of art to view and it is located right on the water in the beautiful town of Alexandria.

Lovely, eclectic warehouse type space with beautiful local art works. On the waterfront, this makes for a delightful stroll through Founders Park. Accessible ramp entrance is located around back, closest to waterfront side of building.

A onetime secretive torpedo factory now turned into an arts area featuring local artists. Some of the torpedo factory history is on display. Nice place to walk around inside and out while in old town Alexandria.

This place is huge and historic. Former torpedo factory during WWII it has been converted into a working multi shop art gallery with artists of all disciplines creating beautiful works right on the spot.
There are displays that harkens back to its time as a torpedo factory which is very interesting to me but the main attraction is to see many dozens of artists creating works right in front of you.

Wow!!! Fascinating and inspiring centre for artists. Entrance to the centre is FREE! It's by the waterfront in the Old Town, close to the visitor centre. The art centre has vivid display of art - ceramic, clay, fabric, abstract, metal, papers, wood, newspaper, digital, exoskeleton, bottle caps, photography. I had a good time with many of the artists in their studio; sharing our experience in art and culture.
Mark this place on your must do list. Thanks to the visitor centre for advising me to visit this place. The art pieces are pricy.

If you like art, this is a pretty great place to spend your time. They have pieces that span the entire gamut of affordability, there are many different styles and techniques represented, and the artists staffing their booths are very friendly. In addition, there are some truly formal-gallery-worthy pieces on display. I've actually gone several times now just to kill time and enjoy myself. I very much recommend it.
