Very disappointed in this property:

Very disappointed in this property:

1. Booked 8 weeks early using one of my Marriott annual certificates. Added wife to reservation during booking process as we were arriving at very different check in times (Friday afternoon vs Saturday morning)

2. Wife checked in first as front desk clerk told her we had multiple reservations. She stood there as three of guests checked in with a different front desk clerk trying to figure out what happened with the multiple reservations. She also asked for an upgrade and was told no other rooms were available. A few minutes later, someone checking in at the counter over asked for an upgrade of lower status than us and was granted an upgrade. She only knew what his level was because he said it to the front desk clerk.

3. She finally got room keys and asked the same front desk clerk for two bottled waters. They told her the room had water. The room did not have any waters.

4. The room was disappointing. "City View" was the best they gave a Titanium Elite Lifetime member. Room was on lowly 3rd floor overlooking AC units. Room was a handicap room (which is fine) expect there's no where to hang formal dress she had for wedding we were attending the next day in the region other than on the shower rod.

5. Mold in Bathroom shower.

6. No valet stand in room closet for luggage

7. I arrived on red eye flight early the next morning. I went to front desk and talked calmly with the MOD. She at least made things right giving us 35,000 points back (the value of the free certificate we burned up staying at this property) as well as comp the one night parking. She also sent an apology email which was nice.

I will never stay here again when we return to Portland. I had huge expectations of this property and left completely disappointed.

If you're a runner, you might like this place: they encourage interested guests to get together and go out for a morning run around 6:30 in the morning.
You can also get them to deliver running gear to your room for a nominal fee, in case you forgot to pack yours.

Excellent and expedient room service. Congress Squared and Top of the East convienently located in the same building, bottom and top floors respectively. Don't even have to venture outside, perfect for those cold Winter months.

I chose this hotel for it's location and Top of the East lounge. It's my first time too Maine and I spent my birthday weekend here. We arrived on Friday from Boston, and checked out early this morning to get ahead of snow storm coming. This hotel is clean, rooms are cozy and all staff (front desk, valet and shuttle bus) were professional, courteous and friendly. Justin and Amie are amazing, very professional and courteous. They both gave us excellent choice options in restaurants (breakfast and dinner) and attractions within walking distance and shuttle bus travel. They made sure that my stay and birthday was a great experience. We will definitely be planning a return visit. I just want to thank Amie and Justin again for your outstanding customer service and acknowledgement of and making me feel special on my birthday.

I made a reservation to this hotel weeks in advance to celebrate my wedding anniversary. When I arrive I was given a dirty room. When I tried to change the room I was told there were no clean rooms currently available. I was told to check my bags at the lobby and that someone would call my cell when the room became available. So I went for a walk and over two hours later I received a call from the hotel informing me the room is available - I kid you not, over two hours! This was on a Friday afternoon - yes Friday when there should've been clean rooms available in anticipation for the weekend rush. This Westin hotel unbelievably did not have clean rooms available for guests.

I proceeded to call Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG), the people who booked my reservation, but they refused to help citing that I'm at the mercy of the Westin. What a new low for big names in the service industry.

Anyway, at the end of it all, the manager on duty wrote a short apology note.

A note to all travelers thinking of staying at this hotel, especially if you're paying a premium price for your room, look for other options in the area. The only redeeming quality this hotel has is the location. The building itself is unimpressive and the service left a lot to be desired. The rooms aren't very clean, the staff wasn't all that helpful and the hotel charges $25-$35 per night for parking. For a Westin hotel, this property is a bust. I would highly recommend staying elsewhere in town.

We took a chance on using a new hotel chain then we normally do, and I was impressed to say the least. We stayed on the 12th floor and the view was stunning. You could see all the way to Mt Washington, while overlooking Portland Maine. What a view. The hotel was very clean, the beds were perfect, and you dint have to be a member to get complementary water! The resteraunt was not serving dinner during the hours we arrived, but made us the food we wanted that was not on the menu, I can't say enough about that. I would recommend The Westin to anyone, and WE WILL return again

The rooms are comfortable, the roof top restaurant was tastey and a wonderful view. Our only glitch was in housekeeping...starting around 4 PM we called 3 times to have the room cleaned...new towels...it was done around 7 PM....not fun

Good: clean and very concerned about everyone safety from COVID
Bad: no service of any kind. Food, concierge. The things you d expect from Westin and high end hotels.

Location is ok. 10-15 walk to everything you d want to visit in downtown. The problem that streets don t feel safe around the hotel.

This is the first leg of our honeymoon, which I specifically stated in the notes of my reservation. We booked through a 3rd party service, which is why I had to leave a note stating it's our honeymoon and we would prefer a king bed. We have 2 full beds and there was absolutely nothing left in the room to welcome us. My suggestion would be to book through the hotel should you have an important event, but it's probably not wise to stay here. They were completely unsympathetic and didn't even attempt to make our night special although given several occasions. We are very disappointed and will have this to remember as the first night of our honeymoon for a lifetime. Otherwise, a well kept hotel.

I was staying 1 night for a wedding I was attending. I was told to let them know the name of the Wedding and I'd get a discount, I did and NEVER received the discount. I paid $324.02 for 1 night, check in was at 4pm and the wedding started at 4:30p that day. I had to pay extra because I wanted to check in earlier...no parking at hotel unless you used valet parking which was another $34...you can't see the harbor from the hotel it's about 20 mins...so all together I paid $400.02 for not even 24 hrs...I'll never be staying there again RIP OFF

Nice place. Would expect much better service. Staying here now in one of the suites. We got in Friday night. Checkin was easy and man was very friendly. Next day, no room cleaning service. I call to ask why, they say you have to schedule it... no one told us this when we checked in. I expressed my dissatisfaction and the lady up front was nice and signed us up for the next day at 1pm to have our room tidied up. We are staying here for 3 nights by the way. They tell us you have to be out of the room 3 hours beforehand. We get back to our room at 2:45pm, NO ONE CLEANED THE ROOM. We stayed here for our would be wedding date too. Honestly ridiculous. Wouldn t be back ever and would never recommend.

Staff was kind and accommodating, however, the rooms were dirty, and not up to Westin standards, my family and I changed rooms twice and rooms were still unclean, meaning floors not vacuumed, coffee pot had pods in them, towels were unclean. One more note, hotel was very pricey.

The hotel is very modern and the room was fantastic - comfortable and spacious. Staff were friendly and the check in/out process was smooth and easy. The parking is valet parking, but it was only slightly more expensive for a full day compared to parking ourselves in a nearby parking garage and admittedly much more convenient.

This was a great hotel! It's comfortable, modern and dog friendly. Each staff member I met was extremely accommodating and very knowledgeable about the area. My one complaint would be it's about a 20 minute walk from the Old Port part of Portland. This worked out find for my wife and I because we needed to walk off all the food we ate, but I could see this as a concern for others. One tip I want to share is don't do the valet or parking garage...there's plenty of free overnight parking if you're willing to do a little looking and walking. We saved $50+ this way!

The location is perfectly in the middle of downtown. The room was very clean and well put together. The front desk worker was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

The rooms are comfortable with upgraded shower heads. The breakfast at C2 is ok, but the service is so so. The platinum breakfast benefit deducted $32 from the bill, but that doesn't cover much for 2.

The hotel is nice and very clean, however the staff was not at all on top of their game. A reservation for 5 rooms was a complete mess and whenever we wanted the shuttle we were told it was unavailable because guests may need transportation to the airport, although we witnessed several bachelorett parties being shuttled around during our stay.

From the time we checked in, to no issues at all with- cleanliness, amenities, ample supply of clean towels, comfortability, to customer service IT WAS NOTHING SHORT OF A STELLAR STAY!

We had a great time at this hotel. The rooftop bar is really fun and bright and open. We were a little disappointed the kitchen stop serving food at 10 p.m. but it was a really nice place to enjoy some drinks. The hotel was very accommodating and everyone was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nice.

I have had consistently great experiences on multiple visits! The staff are always happy to see you and are very accommodating. We have stayed with and without our dogs, enjoyable either way. The place is quiet with great city views, especially from the rooftop lounge.

I travel a lot and except a few locations, I usually don t have much luck with Marriott properties. This hotel is just okay. Management can be improved... (sorry not going to spend time sharing the details)

Centrally located, clean, excellent staff! Delicious breakfast. Walls could offer more sound insulation, but well appointed rooms were comfortable. Was initially annoyed to have to pay for parking, but the easy use of the shuttle service made it more convenient to have left my vehicle in the garage. Would stay again. #westinportlandharborview

Nice hotel, great location, good service. The only thing that was weird was the smell in the Top of the East lounge. We went up to check it out but the smell forced us to leave. The carpet either needs to be replaced or a really solid cleaning. In addition the vacuum needs to be replaced. Smelled like there was a cat convention.

I wish I could give this place NO STARS!

On October 25th, I booked the Westin through Orbitz and requested a King bed. We paid right then through Orbitz and received confirmation that our room was booked. We traveled up to Portland from Southeast CT for this past weekend. Unbeknownst to me, my boyfriend was to propose to me on Saturday, November 4th and we were going to stay here to celebrate. We arrive and check in. We walk into the room and it's two doubles, NOT the king that we paid the premium for. We go back to the concierge (who was actually very sweet) and they had no King rooms available, although we paid for it. The manager, Seamus, came out and offered us a few drink vouchers for our trouble and that some rooms were affected from a recent storm. This was never mentioned to us prior to our trip. This put a huge damper on what was supposed to be the best day of our lives, and there was nothing but them throwing us $20 in drink vouchers! The room we were given was more than HALF of what we paid for for the King bed and absolutely NO MENTION was given to that fact. We were beyond upset and to top it off were told that we might not even be able to get refunded since we went through a 3rd party. I got on the phone directly with Orbitz who was amazing and got us our refund. Thank god we had a family member in the area that was able to accommodate us for the night. Terrible, terrible customer service. Next time contact your guests and let them know if their room isn't available. We traveled 3-1/2 hours to get here and was going to spend $350 for a celebratory night here. Never again.

The room was dirty.

We left our bags to be brought to our room and 30 minutes later they hadn't come. We were going out for a walk and saw the bags sitting by the front door so I grabbed them and took them to our room. Nobody seemed to notice and nobody bothered to check to see if we had them. Which means anyone could have walked off with our clothes.

Not a good first impression. We won't be back.
