The middle of the desert. Hot as hell. At least it's not Los Angeles, and that's the point. I'm here to escape the insane crush of traffic, the murder cops, and my neighbors, who are decent enough but can only live in the city by fitting twelve of them in a single apartment so that when I say hello to two of them in the morning, they just stare at me as they take a whiz on their own fence. The resort is fine. Mostly older golfers and their bored wives and kids hanging out at the pool. There staff is welcoming, but the help is kind of incompetent; I ask for the pet amenities that aren't the food bowls and that's all they bring. Also, somebody brings me a new room key I didn't ask for, getting me mixed up with another guest. The food is okay, very overpriced and underwhelming. Serving staff is mostly very outgoing and cool, but I travel with a service animal and sometimes you can tell they hate that, even if it's a docile creature that just lies there. I escaped LA. The place served it's purpose, at least.

Typical Westin experience EXCEPT despite requesting on three separate occasions 4pm late checkout as SPG Platinum, and getting it at check-in, housekeeping came into room, ignoring the do not disturb sign, and removing items needed as part of the reason for the late checkout request. It was addressed afterwards by staff, but this is the first time I've ever experienced such a fail with any SPG property.

They added a $40 per day resort fee which I was unaware of until check out. As far as I'm concerned this was a hidden charge which made the room $40 more expensive per night than the quoted rate. I have been traveling for business for fifty years and this was a new experience.

Kind of a let down considering what you pay to stay here. The property was massive but the rooms and premises definitely need to be updated. There was popcorn ceilings in the rooms and the ponds weren't even full of water. The paint around the pools were peeling off too. Wouldn't stay here again unless they renovated.

This is a management observation based on a phone call. Attempting to call and speak with a Hotel representative on Tuesday Morning at 9:00 AM seems to be an impossibility. Voice recordings and instruction is all that is available. After 8 minutes on hold a person answered just long enough to ask if I could hold longer!!!
One of two thoughts on this; Not enough employees to provide acceptable service which leads to the other, extremely weak management and oversight. In either case, eventually your resort will become 2 star and you won't need better or additional employees!

This resort is simply not what it should be. We've loved other Westin properties, and Mission Hills is severely out of character for the 'upscale' brand. We were given the wrong directions to our room by the front desk, the food at their restaurant on property arrived cold, we waited 35 minutes and had to make 3 calls in order to get a golf cart to take us back from a pool, they have a bad fire ant infestation that they aren't taking care of (avoid the golf courses- you may get stung a dozen times), the hot water barely works in the rooms, one of the glasses in our room was badly broken upon our arrival, and it is a feat to park on weekends. Staff doesn't monitor if people bring their small children to the adult-only pool, or if cars are parked in the fire lanes overnight. The staff is missing effective management and passion for the brand. Sadly sub-par.

This is NOT a 4 star hotel! Ugly, uncomfortable rooms, poor service ex: I called for an extension cord 2 days ago and have still not received it. The bed is not made correctly, towels are skimpy, staff do not appear happy to see you or want to be helpful. Shower is gross. Rooms are dark and dreary. Plugs not located in accessible places. No beauty swag. The layout of the "resort" is awful - can't get from our room to the conference center without either going thru the loading dock or walk around the resort. The food is like what you find at a rest stop or airport. Concierge not helpful. Awful experience...can't wait to leave (enjoying the conference I as m attending so that is not the issue).

Although the resort was beautiful, and the staff friendly, the room was terrible! The floor was filthy. Hair in the bathtub, as well as what appeared to be lipstick smeared on the wall. Lots of finger print smears on various items throughout like nothing had been wiped down. When you got out of the shower and walked across the floor, then back to the tile it left muddy footprints! See pic-you can see what color the grout should be, and that is was black from grim in most areas! We called and requested a new room, but the resort was full. They offered another cleaning but unless they were coming to shampoo the carpets and clean the grout, it wasn't going to make much difference. We were given a fruit basket instead. Definitely disappointing for a Westin!

I was treated like a VIP service could not be better. GM Tom would come around and ask if we could do any better, on top of his job . We even would see him on the golf course asking about everything loved the whole experience

Overall, I was extremely impressed with my experience there. However, an older man tripped right in front of me because of an unmarked step. Which I didn't even see myself. And a little while later I almost tripped and fell on another unmarked step. They're not clearly marked or easily seen. I suggest putting some kind of visible strip to distinguish the stairs

Property is in need of some updating, however it appears there is a plan in the works. Shortage of trash cans and removal of room service trays in a timely fashion remains an issue that can easily be corrected with a simple process change.

It s my first time staying here. I understand that there s a lot of restrictions due to Covid but you can definitely do a better job at cleaning. I was very frustrated to learn that there s no restaurants or room service. There s a small convenience store and pool service for the entire place. The hours for food are very limited and has to be pre ordered. They had hotdogs, pretzels, pizza and rice/beans and chips w salsa. For the price of this resort I would at least expect decent food. On the bright side any time with family is a good time. The place is cute just needs more attention. I will be posting a picture of their food menu and hours for service.

The water in the pool was warm, the grounds were lovely. The villa we stayed in was so-so...the couch was not very comfortable and the basic supplies provided could have been a little more robust. (Coffee filter, for those who brought coffee, eg)

Great rooms and amenities. Fantastic pool and poolside service. Staff are nice and helpful. I've been staying here since I was 8 and I still come here as an adult at 21 years old. Highly recommend.

So beautiful, we're already saving up to return! Our villa had everything we needed, and great views over the golf course. Staff were so welcoming, smiley, and willing to assist. Unfortunately my husband injured his back on our first day in Palm Springs, so we were unable to play golf or tennis, but we enjoyed relaxing in the pool and watching beautiful sunsets on the balcony. We were travelling with our toddler, and he made himself quite at home in the villa, the pool, and the playground, so we would definitely recommend this resort for families. We'll be back!

The resort itself is very nice and clean. The staff is so courteous. We went on a 4th of July weekend and thought it would be chaotic but everything was orderly and enjoyable! The caddy guys gave us a tour and history of the place . They did a great job. Thank you Westin for a very memorable weekend stay.

The entrance, grounds, and layout are great, although it can be hard to ever find your room. However the rooms are very ordinary. A bit run down. Attention to detail lacking. And they feel more like a Motel 6 than a Westin, with design elements and such ignored, cheap furniture, and wasted space.

Beautiful grounds, nice rooms, good food, etc. Love the dog adoption program in the lobby, what a great idea! On my first night, they had excellent live music by the fire pit. I had two tennis lessons with Coach Chad and highly recommend him. He helped me to revamp my serve and develop top spin. He customized each lesson so both days were fresh while reinforcing the previous lesson.

Location of the resort was conveniently close to other shopping areas. The rooms weren't as updated as I thought, but nice and clean nonetheless. Front desk and house keeping were so nice and helpful. Concierge was a little distracted and not as informative But would definitely stay again if we were in town.

When I reviewed my bill they had charged every room and extra days resort fee. They said they were going to fix right away and did, on three of the rooms, but I'm still fighting to attempt to prove to them that they overcharged me on one. Service in the bar was slow. Other than that it's a lovely property. The rooms are a bit outdated. The room above me woke up around 5am and started walking around and didn't stop, so if you want to sleep in make sure you request a second floor room!

The Westin is a great resort to be at. The rooms are very clean and the customer service is great. I wasn't really in my room a lot though since I was attending an event, but other than that, it has been an amazing stay.

I just want to take a minute and thank everyone from the Westin Mission Hills golf resort and spa for making our 15th wedding anniversary an amazing time. Special thanks to my friends at the pool...Karen, David and Dmitri. Special thanks to the ladies at the spa...Christina, Moara, Debra, Barb and Mireya. And of course the front desk...Lisa and John and Lance the bartender. We made so many memories this weekend and we feel so blessed to share them with you folks. We will see you all very soon.
Many blessings,
Matty and Karen

(Please forgive me if I forgot anyone and if I spelled the names wrong!)

If I could give a zero, I would. Booked the room months ago, we were headed to Newport Beach, but wanted to break up the drive because we have 2 small kids (2 years, 5 months). I stressed on booking we have to have connecting rooms. The day of check-in, I worked with someone to get pre-checked in because we weren't arriving until super late. Again I stressed, we need connecting rooms. Checked in and was told, no connecting room...but the rooms were next to each other. Was I supposed to let my kids just roam the room and hope for the best? Was told they had no other rooms.

Decided to just do the one room and cram in there with my oldest utilizing the pull out sofa. Got to the room, no crib as we requested ahead of time. We called down and asked for a crib and to have the pull out made up. Was told they would try to find a crib....try? A not so friendly person finally showed up set everything on the bed and just left. Didn't make anything up. Upon me setting up the crib/ pack and play, a huge stash of left over food (gold fish and crackers) came pouring out. So obviously they don't clean things after use.

Probably the worst resort experience I have ever had!

On top of all of this, the rooms are super dated. Popcorn ceilings and the bathroom doors look like they came out of the 70's.

Tldr - They messed up our room request after asking them several times for connecting rooms. Dirty facilities and rude employees

Played golf. Beautiful day. Weather was great. Course was in pretty good shape. Clubhouse is in need of some work. Restroom was falling apart. If they're going to sell the place as a club, they need to step up and fix the things they're charging for.

Resort fees should be broken down and charges ale carte for the things you use. If I wanted to rent a bike, I'd expect to pay. But I don't want to pay for 90% of things I will never use or take advantage of.

Hotel rooms are a bit dated, but well maintained. Grounds are lovely. Pools are well kept, yet Mai Tais at pool are a bit over priced.

Staff was amazing. Cheerful, kind, and helpful. Sometimes this makes up for the shortfalls in the resort, but never a resort fee.

Good place for a weekend by the pool.

We went for a dance competition. It was extremely hot outside and parking was to be as expected for such a crowded event. But the indoors was nice and cool and there was water for all who needed some as soon as you walked in. Very nice.
