An excellent hotel with good service, rooms and food.
The golf courses are testing and a good layouts.

Nice, modern hotel, but takes a while to work out how to get around as it is a bit of a rabbit warren. Room was spacious and comfortable with a hood, large sized tv ro watch. Only a couple of minor things let it down- ordered room service on first night which included chips, but chips were cold and no salt provided. That said the club sandwich was ace. Second irritation was breakfast- they bring tea/coffee to the table, but we were forgotten and had to remind them twice (we had nearly finished by the time it arrived), and the pots they use only contain one cup- would be nice to have a bit extra.

But this wouldn't put me off staying again- staff were friendly and facilities great.

Love the vale, excellent value for money, really friendly and helpful staff.

Not sure about the rooms but I was at a social events and the rooms were quite clean.

Really nice, great atmosphere, some of the clientele need to realise this is a place to relax not to lay on the water beds and chat about your life story at full volume. The massage was excellent, great attentive staff, they will need to start on preventative maintenance as there as a few major carpet stains and rust spots which are noticeable in the spa area which just take the shine off.

Great venue ...but not sure that the national is a great golf course

Nice hotel in nice grounds: I appreciate that rugby is a big game in Wales but disappointed to see - in such a nice, not cheap hotel - loads of people in rugby shorts, trainers, track suits etc.

Reasonably comfortable, rooms not particularly sound proof I could hear next door clearly.

Quality golf resort. Course can get wet but it's a good test.

I was at the Vale for 6 night in the end of January. I ll start with the negative only to get it out of the way. The room doesn t live up to its potential. There s a lot of space yet only one plastic chair. There are steps up to an empty window area. This space should have a comfy chair and a light to be a reading nook. The shower is new and has great pressure and the bed was great!

The rest is 5 star. I wanted Mackerel for breakfast and the morning Chef (Tim I think) made sure I had only fresh! My husband was there on business so we stayed in and ate at night. The Vale Grill is outstanding and we were fine staying in. I had the pork chops twice! Everything is made with creativity and care! The chops had a sauce that complemented the greens served with it. Now we get to the Halibut. It was the finest I ve had! The sauce had ginger flavor and the construction of the layers with potato was stunning! Bravo to Executive Chef Dean Milburn! This is a find comparable to any big city, recognized, fine dining establishment!

The resort is amazing itself. I m 58 and happily married but certainly didn t mind watching the very good looking players from the Welsh Rugby Team that practice / reside there during season. Walking to Hensol Castle was beautiful and the Spa as good as it gets!

Lovely, place. Staff is as friendly as you can dream of. Restaurant is a killer 11 out of 10. The food is just magnificent and melts in your mouth. Spa is very nice, friendly and approachable staff, plenty to do for a very good price.

I'm a member. It's open early to late. Many activities to chose from, including children's creche.

Great forum dinner. Pannal cotta was a poor choice of desert. Incorrect wine was on the table. Good night though and great steak

We had my Daughters wedding at The Vale Resort on the 7th of December 2019 with 170 day guests & a further 70 in the evening it was fantastic the food , staff & venue were all 1st class this is our second family wedding here & it is without doubt the best place in Wales for an event like this. Well done all at the Vale . 5 stars

Golf member visiting the resort for an afternoon tea and for wife to purchase a spa treatment. Asked if the wife could use the health club changing room to get ready for afternoon tea. Sadly lady on reception said no. Wife was considering health membership but has now decided to join Village Hotel in Cardiff instead. I'm pleased to say the golf staff were far more amenable and allowed my wife to use visitors locker room. That's how you lose business!

No music PA system in conference room so couldn't play sound bite on a PowerPoint.

Room was clean and big. No view. Tap on bath was broken but apart from that it was good.

Good room, very helpful staff, good breakfast and no ridiculous bar prices

Niece and peacefull hotel. Very good for weddings, or special ocasions.

Had lovely spa weekend, food was really nice, room large with wet room, staff welcoming and friendly. Also got to see most of Welsh rugby team.

Was a guest attending the spa for a day treatment as a mother to be. Incredible massage and treatment and very polite and caring staff! Recommend to anyone due to give birth!!

Service in the bar area and hotel reception is generally unfriendly - not good enough for a 4/5 star. They need a real culture shift as the staff give an air of superiority. The same is found a leeks which is run by the same family. The gym reception is excellent and 5 star. Facilities are excellent and the golf course and clubhouse exceptional and more friendly too.

Lovely place except they doubled the drink prices and started giving singles as doubles half way through the night!

Nice and clean hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast, just great. Will come back.

Great resort with a beautiful golf course and surrounding scenery

I've had two great stays at The Vale and 3 great spa days. I had one substandard stay which they rectify and I believe it was unusual and have kept returning. Laura at the Spa did a fantastic aromatherapy massage and I couldn't recommend enough.

Lovely experience with amazing facilities. The water room is awesome!

Great hotel and facilities. Food is excellent and not extortionate prices. Wales rugby team stay here during the 6 nations and autumn internationals and can be seen walking round the hotel.

Went for afternoon tea. Pre booked, they got order wrong twice. Tea pot was not warmed so tea was going cold. Drafty room. But food was ok. X

Excellent facilities from hotel to restaurant to gym to function... an exclusive all round venue.

Two great golf courses. Good rooms. Bars and food were very good. Will be going back next year.

2 beautiful golf courses. The lakeside is a challenging course. The valley was a fair old walk.. Plenty of parking spaces

Nice hotel but for me not that great. Food was good the rooms for me are not all that! Meeting rooms are good but chairs uncomfortable. Okay place

Spa hen weekend, accommodating lunch, 3 course evening meal and spa treatment. Beautiful room with amazing shower, lovely weekend.

Staff were brilliant but to serve breakfast coffee that bad takes effort and deliberate planning. Sure, you can buy coffee at the bar, but in most places today coffee is included with breakfast, that's coffee, not brown chemically stained hotish water.

Visited the Welsh squad and their training centre here, absolutely amazing

Fantastic venue for events. Played the 2 golf courses and had a great time. Good value too

We had afternoon Tea - it was very nice but a few things let it down. Poor attention to detail, tea box looked dirty and was not complete, Teapot was stained, no one came to see if we needed more tea or coffee.

Excellent facilities. Food was fantastic and the Golf course in good nick despite all the rain (November). Rooms very spacious and nice sized bathrooms

Great venue for a conference. Only comment was that catering didn't identify vegetarian dishes with signs so not easy for those with dietary restrictions (religious, allergy, or other) to have the provided buffet.
