Golf weekend. excellent courses, food and accommodation. Recommend.

We were in a conference room for a seminar, so I only got to experience a small part of the resort, my impression of the place was that it looks superb

2nd day playing the Lakes today after playing the National yesterday hope that the greens are better today enjoyed the National but slow bobly greens let it down .
The hotel and staff are 1st class good choice for breakfast and good menu for dinner excellent value for money.

The SPA was excellent. We've got Vale massage treatment and it was perfect choice to us. The whirlpool was warm and clean.

Really nice place. Went there on a charity function. The meal was a set menu but great food and everything was still hot when it was served. The bar staff were quick and friendly but the prices were high. All in all a nice venue.

Went for extended break around Cardiff to visit area where my wife's ancestors lived and look at Dr Who sets. Very comfortable hotel. Quiet and a decent gym - do bring you training gear

Beautiful views and setting, sat in conservatory section, which has great views. Went with friends for birthday afternoon tea. Reasonable price. Selection of unlimited teas/coffees and could have more than one choice. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Ordered classic afternoon tea, pescatarian afternoon tea and vegetarian afternoon tea. Good range and variety.

Went for Spa Day with my daughter. Very relaxing and enjoyable yet again. Will return.

Sunday afternoon tea, white starched tablecloths and friendly attentive staff. Very nice tea with full array of sandwiches, cakes and desserts and a couple of Welsh touches including Welsh cakes and bars brith. Good selection of teas, coffee and soft drinks. Recommended.

Fab spa break for my 60th with my daughter lovely amazing food , spa was so relaxing beautiful location , very friendly staff..

Rooms are a little dated. Only two choices of food, restaurant or bar (whereas the Celtic Manor has at least 6 choices) and kids running around screaming. However the spa is outstanding.

This was an excellent hotel. I did not have a breakfast as we were leaving very early. However, the staff were very helpful & we enjoyed our stay highly recommen

Afternoon Tea pretty disappointing! Loud music ruined ambience and inedible sandwiches. Cakes ok but nothing special! Had much better

A lovely relaxed hotel, very spacious room with an amazing view over the grounds. A lovely spa facility with access to pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The resturant food was of a very good quality and service was excellent. Check in and out was efficient and friendly.

Quality resort, great golf courses and excellent service.

Some of the attentive and friendly staff (Louise) waiting staff . I've come across. Nothing was too much trouble.
Had a superb golf break with 40 others.
Will go back soon...

Spa here is fab lots of relaxing rooms as well as pool, jacuzzi, stem room & sauna

Lovely location, food nicely done, a little more seasoning would be good. Triple cooked chips a bit soggy.

Overall the facilities here are very good, service patchy, needs some investment and some staff training. I am sure that this place has the potential to be an excellent resort rather than a good resort.

The room was very noisy and I could hear the cleaning staff and slamming doors every morning. There were no toiletries in the bathroom on arrival and for a few days afterwards. The light next to the bed was hanging off the wall (was promptly attended to though). The spa facilities just consisted of couple of rooms with mood lighting, one of the experience showers was broken and I could hear the exercise class in the swimming pool when trying to relax. There were no indoor loungers left as the area is shared with the gym. Pool had children's classes in so there was no point paying for the spa at all. Room service menu was limited and they forgot to add the second dish to the order. Parking was overcrowded and tight. Room cards stopped working for no reason. Hotel looked tired with trolleys left in hallways, lifts out of order. When I booked I asked for a twin room, ended up with a double. The TV was small and you can't use your Apple box as there is a sign in page for the internet.
On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable, the staff very helpful and the food excellent. The grounds were well maintained. The bath was massive and the shower powerful.

Over priced and very overrated the spa was probably the worst we had been to, we payed for a full day with lunch and a glass off proseco the whole spa area was dirty and very tired looking the food was poor basically a snack and at the end of day we wern't even offered a drink very dissapointing definatly would not recommend

Superb for sports golf, gym, swimming, football, rugby, walking, it has very pleasant surroundings. Only complaint the reception girl's are are as useful as a chocolate teapots for giving you information or sorting out any issues.

The location was fantastic the hotel was outstanding the scenery over looking the the 18 hole golf course was wonderful, just being able to sit there and chill out with a few friends and family and have a great day, and by the way don't forget that facilities at the resort ie, swimming, gym and the restaurant and all the staff, outstanding. This is a local hotel to me. The grounds are very pretty, especially the approach to the hotel. There is a leisure centre with gym and pool which I have used in the past and found the water to be a bit cold for me but it was a long time ago. The pool was large enough to be able to swim and not just to just sit there. I ate at the restaurant once and I was not impressed but again this was a long time ago and it might be very different now. There is also a golf course attached to the hotel. The setting is lovely. I have never stayed so can not comment on the rooms. In my recent visit, I had a meeting in the coffee bar near the leisure facilities and was not impressed with the hot chocolate or the cleanliness of the surroundings there but the main lobby of the hotel was much nicer.

Purchased some spa vouchers, used half at Christmas and saved the rest for later in the year but they had sneakily stamped an expiry date on the back without alerting me and they then refused to accept them when I came to pay. Very dissatisfied.

Excellent Golf resort. Hotel is more 3* But rooms are clean and comfortable but not 4*. restaurant offers standard hotel fair but presented well. Two main bars. The piano bar offers better quality spirits than the restaurant bar. This might be a distraction if a golfing group are staying!

Excellent courses with a few challenging holes on both. Stay in the hotel was great and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Spent mother's day here and have a great meal with the family. :)

Stayed two nights. Rooms were spacious and welcoming. Kept nice and clean.

The rooms were spacious and modern and the ensuite shower was amazing. The bed was huge and our balcony opened up on to the golf course which provided exquisite views. Staff were friendly and helpful (even when I accidentally set a croissant on fire at breakfast) would highly recommend

Lovely room with balcony overlooking the pond on the golf course. The service has been incredible, so friendly and helpful. Has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Not had pleasure of staying here yet but the function and food well stunning.

Amazing grounds, staff are amazing i had to go outside while food was being served to sort out my baby and they left my food there till i came back nothing was to much trouble, i didnt feel rushed and the room was stunning! Definitely be back!

Great spa facilities. Lunch package was excellent. Wonderful treat.

A faded glory or failing to meet expectations? The hotel may be home to the Wales football team, but it's a tad tired. My room was a mix of decor and furniture, little of which matched. The double bed was two singles together, which led to a less than perfect night's sleep. Elsewhere, the gym was large and well equipped, with a superb 20m swimming pool, and the restaurant served an excellent steak and chips, so it's not all bad at all. Staff service was also top notch. Sadly, it's not enough to rescue the whole, and only its location and leisure facilities would tempt me back.

I had my work Christmas party here and also booked a room. Brilliant event - "Back to The Future" and great value for money. The room was excellent as was the buffet breakfast with a good choice of vegan food for me.

Attended wedding reception at this resort. Very impressive and well designed resort. Quite a way off the beaten track but well worth the effort getting there. Resort has a very large car park in the grounds and well maintained gardens. Considering the number off people who attended the red reception and all the other activities simultaneously going on the resort did not look to be struggling and every help was made available when needed. All in all a very enjoyable evening in a great atmosphere. I would definitely consider returning for a weekend break in the future.

We had a wonderful time here even though the weather was very cold. The hotel itself was very good and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast and dinners were very good and we managed to play golf twice on the Lakes and the Welsh National courses which were well maintained even though it is winter. We would love to come here again when it's a bit warmer!

Food was lovely, entertainment excellent, had a lovely night. The casino was alot of fun.
