Lovely hotel with great food and friendly staff. Fully equipped modern gym, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room all free to use as a hotel guest. Also has a spa beside the gym. Nice rooms with good size ensuite. Also has two golf courses and a driving range. Large carpark so there are no issues with finding a parking space.

Went for Day Spa, best face mask/facial I have had ,I chose 55 mins treatment also included back & foot massage, lots of choices of treatments here, we also had use of sauna/stream rooms , jacuzzi, lovely swim in pool , relaxing rooms to sleep or read plus by pool was outside garden & bar (noisy due to pitch grass cutting etc next to it). Buffet lunch included, soup, roll, salad, pasta ,cold meats, cheese , water, fruit juices and fresh fruit.
Tip -showers by pool area and upstairs spa had shower gel to use. Take small towel to sit on in sauna .

The drive up to the hotel is beautiful as is the exterior. Free parking is a rare bonus you don't get in many other hotels nowadays. Check-in was straightforward and the staff on the desk were very helpful. Decided to book a massage so rang the spa from our room as there was a leaflet saying "special residents spa offers available". After no answer I walked to the spa where I was told there is no offers by a confused therapist and all treatments were full price?? We decided to have a cocktail outside as it was a glorious day however the only open bar doesn't serve cocktails and we would need to wait till after 6 for the piano bar to open. We sat outside on the terrace with fantastic views of the golf course and valleys. There was litter on the floor and the tables were filled with dirty plates/glasses which numerous staff just walked past after delivering fresh food??
We then had food in The Grill restaurant. The food was delicious and the restaurant itself is very nice with an open kitchen. Although staff were very attentive they again failed to take empty glasses away when delivering new drinks. We had to ask for replacement cutlery and one glass as dried bits of food and lipstick is not what you expect from a AA double rosette rated restaurant.
Our room was very spacious with a gorgeous bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. It was a shame that the cleaning trolley was left outside our room for the duration of our stay which was a bit of an eyesore and this was where the housekeeping staff gathered in the morning to discuss there weekend! Breakfast was very nice and staff again were very attentive.
The spa was absolutely delightful and would definitely recommend. The relaxing rooms were beautiful (especially the flotation room). The staff were extremely helpful. The pool/ sauna/steam/ jacuzzi were all very well maintained and the views were fantastic. Only niggle was that there was no bags or spin machine provided to put your wet swimming clothes which I have seen at many other spas.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return especially for the spa. Apart from a few issues with the bar/restaurant we had a pleasant stay.

Had the Christmas " do" here on Saturday and can't fault anything.

Well festively decorated rooms, quality cocktail on arrival, excellent presentation of food, bottle of wine between two etc.

The guest band " Big Mac's Wholly Soul Band" provided music which appealed to all age groups.

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening.

Given that this is a " select" venue you can expect expensive drinks but on the whole to be recommended and would definitely book for next year

A1 Customer service/accounts dept!

The charming, professional and efficient Leanne called me from their accounts department today.

Essentially, I had booked the wrong package for my gf and had left her a message to call me back, in the hope of changing/cancelling it.

She called and was so helpful/charming that I found myself prolonging the phone call just because to keep her chatting!

Thanks again Leanne!

Round of golf of the lakes course. Good condition especially after heavy overnight rain. Well maintained and will be exceptional with a few weeks of dry weather and course management of greens and fairways. Look forward to going back in a month or two.

Had a christmas voucher for a spa treatment from family. I know I could do with losing some weight but nowhere on their website does it state that they only cater for people who fit into their one size fits all robe. Never ever had this trouble at any other spa ever. Extremely embarrassing and as it was a treat I was looking forward to very upsetting too. Awaiting a refund.

Just had afternoon tea at the Vale Hotel. Plus points food was lovely and well presented. Negatives, the venue totally lacks any ambience or warmth very clinical. Chairs had definitely seen better days, lacking any comfort or padding. No nice soft furnishings. Use your Leekes connections and soften this space. Even just add a few flowers.
Music too loud and inappropriate for afternoon tea. Tea was luke warm. China bulky and chipped. Milk already out on table when we arrived. Once seated and intially served there was absolutely no further staff engagement. Staff very robotic. We had to go and ask for more tea, nobody came to ask us nor did they check on whether everything was alright. Other guests were doing similar. Vale Management you are responsible for this, the young staff need guidance and training. I really feel you can do so much better it was totally lack lustre

Very high standard, nice rooms, the spa was just amazing with great personal service. Had the soul revive treatment which was lush. We got lunch at the spa which was really good as well. The cocktail bar had great atmosphere with really nice bartenders who went the extra mile. Only flaw would be that the dinner wasn't the most spectacular I've ever had. I would strongly recommend this getaway to anyone!

Lovely place. Was there for afternoon tea for my birthday in 2018 and as we enjoyed it so much my husband and I returned for my birthday in 2019.
I was disappointed in that once tea and cake stand were deposited on the table no one returned to offer more tea as had been the case the previous year.
All staff had disappeared

A really disappointing stay... We spent the night there to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, and checked out at 3:30am, having had to phone reception more than once about the fighting in the corridor, shouting, and quarrelling for hours, following a trade centre Wales Christmas party. I was expecting the manager to contact us about the early hours check out check out but have heard nothing.

Spa day for the three of us today.
Unfortunately a mix up at the reservation desk meant we couldn t receive our treatments together.
However, after a great swim I received an excellent massage from Ellie.
She listened to what I wanted and adjusted the massage accordingly.
Very professional. I d highly recommend her.

First nights stay was spot on. The second night though. Loud drunk people shouting and stumbling about slamming doors at 2am . so second night was very disturbed. Breakfast on second day was poor. No service . had to wait 15 mins before giving up on being sat down. Asked for tea and milk. Forgot milk and gave some lemon tea which wasnt best pleased about. Asked for the milk and tea . never came. Was very unorganized.

Had afternoon tea, it was in a lovely setting but bread was stale and sandwich fillings warm. Could tell the food was prepared too early and left out for a while. Tea selection was nice and staff were great.

Went for a big family celebration. Food was basic, nothing noteworthy. Halibut starters looked like sushi instead of a neat fish fillet. Chicken breast was dry with a bone in it? Go figure. Service was slow, didn't leave there until after 11pm.

Took my mum here for afternoon tea, the food was lovely and great service. I did pre order a glass of champagne to come with the afternoon tea but it was not brought over, I asked a waiter for the champagne and he promptly brought some over but it was a shame it wasn't brought to us straight away. Lovely view of the golf course from the conservatory too.

Beautiful grounds well kept, hotel clean inside and outside. Room was lovely, very comfortable bed. Only niggle was the room temperature as this only seemed to work in the corner of the room. Would stay again without a doubt

Excellent facilities & location. Set in lovely surroundings & staff are superb. Parking is not an issue, & food is excellent. If you are there for business or a conference, you could find a better place. But due to the level of meetings & conferences that seem to take place there. Staying as a resident might not be as relaxing as you would hope for.
