The first day at the Vale and during the evening before dinner l had a beer stolen from my table, it left a sour taste and spoilt our stay, l mentioned it to the barman he seemed disinterested.

went to Christmas party night which was all inclusive bar, it was not all inclusive.it stated selected spirits but only 3 available which I didn't drink (vodka, whisky, gin) and 1 draught beer. it cost me more for drinks which I hadn't accounted for...so 60 pound realky for Turkey dinner..I feel disappointed as previous year was brilliant and all inclusive bar was all drinks, hence the return this year.sorry to say I won't be returning next year. room facilities lovely,,party a let down.

last Tuesday 9th July we had dinner 5 of us we had food in the bar, we orderd starter and a main course, we were served the starter and main course at the same time, we complained and was told by a female supervisor that sometimes had their main course before the starter OMG, big suggestion your staff need training or re training never heard so much rubbish will never go there again.

We stayed at this hotel for our anniversary and I must say that the staff at the reception desk made us very welcome. The grounds were lovely (although most of it could only be walked if you were a gold member), the hotel was spacious and the rooms were huge. The pillows were a little uncomfortable but that depends on personal preference. What really annoyed me was that we booked a reservation in The Golf at 7:30 so walked up to it for our time slot really looking forward to our 3 course meal. When we arrived, the lady informed us that the systems hadn't synced and we were infact now eating back down in the hotel. Ok, so we walked back down to the hotel and across the other side of it. We asked for our seats (after waiting for 10 mins for someone to see us) but we're then informed that our times had infact been changed to 9:30!! He could tell I wasn't happy about this so asked us to come back in 20 mins and he would see what he could do. We then went to the bar and got a drink to take outside. Most of the tables had used glasses and plates in them and were dirty. Not what I was expecting from a 4* hotel. But, nevertheless we enjoyed our drink outside and then we're finally seated after twenty mind when we went back to the restaurant. The food was lovely a d good value for money. It was nice that you could see the chef's cooking. However there was quite a delay between ordering, eating and our empty plates been taken away. Maybe that were just busy. However, in the morning at breakfast, the same thing happened again. We were eventually seated and brought tea and coffee but no milk or sugar. We asked a waitress who was cleaning up the table next to us for some and she just took the milk from the current table she was cleaning and gave it to us. Wow. That's very unhygienic. I would have expected a fresh one. The table before us could have drank milk from it and who were we to know? Furthermore, the sausages were dry and burnt, the fruit was not particularly enticing due to being left in the open right next to where people were breathing on it and we're starting to go brown. Not appetising at all. Apart from the restaurant and food, the hotels facilities were amazing. The swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room where all very relaxing, big and comfortable. This is what made the holiday for us. So, after booking this for a special night, it turned out rather mediocre. Not a 4* service really at all.

Came to the Vale for a formal Ball, we stayed over night. The whole experience from start to finish was perfect and we cannot wait to go again. The room was beautiful, the view was breath taking. And the ball itself was amazing.

I love this place because it is a place for all ages. The staff interacts with the visitors. It provides lovely service in the resteraunt and has amazing food. There are many different characters in the team. It is also a place where children can go to a play company if adults would like to work. The carred in that group I have known as I went there last year for summer camp whilst my parents worked and the group of people in there are a lovely bunch who can be gentle but will also set boundaries so your children don't come home all hyper. And then there is the gym and the swimming pool. The swimming pool is a calm area where you can have a relaxing break but sometimes there are lessons so you should check at when they are on. The gym I have never been in before but is an allround gym as my dad has told me but there is junior gym for members who are 15 and under.

Loud, nothing to do unless you play golf of course, the delays in having the bedrooms ready was appalling!
Dinner was supposed to have roasted baby potatoes.... That didn't happen!
At 1.55am seeing a spider on the bathroom floor, was comforting.
Unless you have great contacts, nothing is ready on time at this place! From bedrooms, to wrong food on the plate, to anything!
Utterly disappointed and I do not recommend this place to anyone!

Room was ok. Pubic hair in the bath was a bit disappointing. Generally a premier inn would be cleaner. Decor is very nice in the bar/ restaurant area and bathroom was modern but the rest was dated. Had dinner in the bar on my first night and ordered a starter and main course. 45 minutes later the mains came out but I never got my starter. Didn't receive much in the way of an apology. Tonight hopefully will be better. Breakfast was nice with lots of choice. Swimming and spa facilities are very good.

Peaceful setting with nice rooms and facilities. Great gym and spa facilities at reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and menus are varied -unless you have dinner as part of your booking package.

Took the missus here for a Spa Day For Two. Wow. What an amazing facility. I have never been so relaxed in all my life.

The massage was great and the treatment room was relaxing - but what really sets the Vale apart from the other dozen or so Spas we've visited is the fact that they have clearly gone to incredible lengths to design the perfect Spa from the ground up. It is completely isolated from the rest of the hotels facilities.

The restaurant and shop areas are clean and relaxing, the "Cwtch" area (Welsh for hug) is a dark and inviting room, filled with soft, comfortabl, loungers, topped with warm, soft throws to wrap yourself up in as you relax to the soft musical backdrop and let the glow of the tea lights soothe you.

Then there's the reading nook, which is bright and clean. It looks out over the pool and is filled with sun loungers so you can pretend you're somewhere tropical.

The final relaxation area is split into two zones - both are dark, warm and filled with soft music. One is filled with memory foam beds, topped with warm blankets. The other side holds half a dozen heated water beds - which are simply one of the best things ever!

Interspersed between these areas are a number of comfortable leather sofas, with magazines to read to pass the time.

Floating down a flight of stairs leads you to the hotels pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. Whilst these facilities are shared with the wider hotel guests and not exclusive to the Spa - we found them to be practically empty and aptly sized, that even on a busy day - there would be plenty of room.

Really comfortable super king size bed. Plenty of coffees and teas in the room. Very quiet even though a Premiership football team and a pro 14 rugby team were staying. Staff make you feel welcome. We had a junior suite and even my car got a VIP space right outside the entrance. Didn't use the spa facilities cause they were fully booked so that is why not 5 star. Rainfall shower was lovely and helped you to chill out. Had evening meal which was of a high standard and breakfast too sitting near half of the Welsh rugby team and staff. Enjoyable stay for the both of us. Thank you Vale.

Spa day booked, arrived at 9:30 enjoyed using the pool etc but our treatments were booked in for 4:45 and that was after 2 meals!
We had to leave early but staff were very accomodating and booked us in for another day.
Make sure you check out the times as its a lot of time to kill.
Very impressed with the facilities here although the steam room was out of action.
