Hotel taj mahal place is beautiful hotel. One of the most oldest hotels in Mumbai and very propular hotel
It's history...majestic place!! Amazing ambience....awesome hospitality
What can I say which hasn't been said already? It's an amazing hotel and will definitely exceed your expectations. Pay close attention to detail as everything is meticulously planned and maintained.
It's awesome. Great view of sea and Gateway of India.
A very good and a buatifull place i visited once while i had gone to see gate way of india but i couldnt go in next tym i visit there ill surely know more about it and share the information............ I know its history and the way it recovered is just amazing..... Its an memorable icon of not only mumbai its a icon of india....
lip smacking food. reasonable quantity. price is obviously high but worth visit for celebrating special occasions.
The One and the best hour of the would and I need to travel there in 2017 April 1
A great place for evening tea at the sea side lounge.
Historic hotel with superb location close to Mumbai's top sights, excellent services, good restaurants, and shops. Beautiful hotels which you can spend the whole weekend just to enjoy the hotel itself.
Had visited the Taj Mahal Palace hotel for a professional event. The preeminent venue among luxury venues in Mumbai. The experience was par excellence, food, wine and ambience wise.
One of the best experience of my life. The aura and ambience cannot be defined.
An absolutely amazing experience.
Pro:
- world class service. The staff is exceptionally sharp and courteous.
- vicinity to some iconic places of Mumbai
- the stay includes an hour long heritage walk across the palace and new hotel, on the history of Mumbai and the hotel
- some fantastic restaurants and shops within the hotel. Highly recommend Wasabi - a Japanese restaurant on the ground floor
Con
Only con is that several parts of the hotel may seem cramped. The spa and the rooms particularly. The spa seems to be able to handle few people at a time
Everything was nice. The view is very awesome from the window. The Gateway of India with the sea behind. No ventilation in bathrooms. Wifi is too messy bcoz of its long process for connecting. Room are not that clean as per the star that the Taj is holding. When it comes to the Taj's food. The huge options and variety can easily kill your hunger and greed.
The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, is a heritage, five-star, luxury hotel built in the Saracenic Revival style in the Colaba region of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, situated next to the Gateway of India. Historically it was known as the "Taj Mahal Hotel"or simply "the Taj". It was one of the main sites targeted in the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
Part of the Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, this hotel with its 560 rooms and 44 suites is considered the flagship property of the group; it employs some 1,600 staff. The hotel is made up of two different buildings: the Taj Mahal Palace and the Tower, which are historically and architecturally distinct from each other (the Taj Mahal Palace was built at the start of the twentieth century; the Tower was opened in 1973). The hotel has a long and distinguished history, having received many notable guests, from presidents to captains of industry and stars of show business. Ratanbai Petit, the second wife of the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, lived in the hotel during her last days in 1929; her mother, Sylla Tata, had born into the Tata family, builders and owners of the hotel.During World War I, the hotel was converted into a military hospital with 600 beds. The hotel is notorious as the most visible target of the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
In 2017, the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel acquired an image trademark,[8] the first building in the country to secure intellectual-property-right protection for its architectural design.....
To begin with, me and my wife usually visit restaurants around the Mumbai city and suburbs during weekends to grab a bite. Being born in a Parsi family i am quiet a foodie and have a taste for luxury. It was my wife's birthday and we thought of giving Masala Kraft a shot. We have been to Shamiana, The Harbour bar and the most exclusive Golden Dragon at the Taj, Apollo Bunder.
Therefore, as usual we make a prior reservation for 10 pm, and make it on time. We are greeted by the captain at the entrance and given the place of our choice. Since the table was getting ready, we thought of going to the wash-room. Upon my return, i see the table is ready and i take a seat. There comes a waiter, who walks to me in doubts asking me about my room no. and, for a second i am wondering why would i need a room. I asked him in utter surprise, i do not have a room here in the hotel. I am a guest at the restaurant. He seemed quiet surprised and, i dont know why as he cycled his arms saying i am just checking. I told him i have a reservation and was asked by the captain at the door to take the table of my choice. He seemed surprised as if i was a gate crasher. I requested him to have a word with the captain. I wonder what was on his mind. May be he wasn't expecting this side of the restaurant to be serviced at this hour.
Anyway, i wonder to myself why would a waiter check with a guest, that he/she has a room here, directly before checking with the captain internally. The restaurant would charge me anyway. I guess he needs training on the soft skills. Here goes my first experience at the MASALA KRAFT.
However, the food was well done and the ambience was nice. But, never expected such a local attitude in a restaurant of an iconic hotel like Taj.

Yasveer Patel
Heritage structure, hospitality of a very high order, great choice of exotic vegetarian cuisine at the Rendevouz Roof Top
Good place , centrally located, old Royal air to the ambience . The rooms were well maintained despite the age of the property. The breakfast table was well spread out and I could choose from a variety of dishes. Only grouse could be the night serving staff at the Al carte lounge which houses the morning breakfast..they were a tad too tight lipped..
A good restaurant for families and friends. Serves both Non-vegetarian and Vegetarian dishes. However, specializes in non-vegetarian, kababs, biryani and other Mughlai dishes.
Historic, Epic & Grandeur...3 adjectives to describe The Taj Mahal Palace!!
We will post detailed review shortly. In nutshell, great decor and historic hotel , ofcourse expensive. We understand that it is not all inclusive hotel but being 5* hotel, they have rooms for improvement for hospitality , as compared to, oberoi, where we statyed for 3 nights. They work very robotic and any custom requirements, such as getting milk, for baby is not well received by staff. There is only 2 servers handling whole poolside area. It is hot and sweltering outside and they don't offer you any hot towel or water ?
In lobby, they have seats, where they want to charge you for sitting. Really, c'mon, you ar charging people $1500 per night and you have restricted seating?
It is very very crowded hotel. It is very well suited for royal people and they get royal treated, such as dignitaries, members of Roy family, who spend 50-100k per night but others are not treated with same respect by staff. My wife went to sea lounge by mistake and she was told by attendant - "Madam - your hi tea is not here" : she could have been polite. It could be financial racism also, where super riches are treated differently. I will rather stay at oberoi or trident - amazing customer service, whole staff bend to their knees to help you. They make kids happy, super great views from the rooms in oberoi, right on Marine drive.
Food - we tried masala craft and food was kind of ok, nothing special.
Awesome place. Love to roam inside but heavy on pocket
The Souk is one of the top 10 restaurants in this city and the rose petal ice cream is heaven
Absolutely the best hotel/experience in the city (Maybe the country). Their service is in a league of its own.
We went there for lunch but food was not that good in Restaurant Shamiyana...
Had a wonderful lunch in Masala Craft @ Taj Mahal Palace on 16th March 2019
Nothing can be compared with Taj. It is benchmark in hospitality.
It's such a big hotel and the rooms are great, night vision, good service
One of the best hotel in South Mumbai. Staff people not give you time to complain about. Front scene is astonishing a open heart of sea and anchored ship and boat giving your eye a views of dream. A old heritage gate gateway of india adding the beauty of Taj and your inner heart definitely say wow h.. Taj.
Incredible hotel with top notch service. Beautiful floral centrepieces all over. Lots of history in the hotel. Take your time to wander the halls!
The food is hygienic and great in quality. Not so great in taste though
Loved the view of the room what they gave for my first night service is as the name taj mahal ... Wonderful experience
The Taj,
probably one among the best hotel in the world contains an Intresting story behind its constructions by TATA's family,
gathered more publicity after 9/11/2008 terror attacks which also leads 24x7 high security alert and a production of Indian movie name "The Attacks Of 26/11".
Get your DSLR ready for mesmerising clicks over there.
It's much expensive with excellent impeccable quality & value.
Located at the Sea Shore of Arabian Sea & beside Gateway Of India with mesmerising and amazing views.
Very bad food. Absolutely unbefitting a five star hotel. The mutton in the Rogan Josh was almost raw and not tender at all. It seems the hotel does not believe in serving good quality food at banquets. The rest of the food on the menu too was listless, tasteless, flavourless.
Nice and feel like we are not in India been out side once should go there
The Taj Mahal Palace is an engineering marvel. It looks Royal. It's not just a hotel it is the icon of Mumbai. Go there for a dinner atleast for once, it is worth of it even though the bill might be of 4000 per person. It's Majestic.
This famous hotel that opened in 1903 was the first 5 star hotel in Mumbai.
The hotel provides great views of the Gateway of India landmark along with the harbor of the Arabian Sea. Like the other Taj hotels in India, the hotel offers upscale amenities such as a nice pool along with world class customer service. Amazing food and fascinating interior describe the class of Taj group.
You have most likely read about the bombing of this hotel that took place in 2008. Compared to the other Taj hotels, this hotel had the heaviest security which included measures such as stopping each and every car that approached the premises to check the vehicle.
Must visit place. Historically rich and great architecture. Customer service is best.
One of the best hotel in mumbai. I asked security guard if i can enter just to have a look at the hotel inside and he said yes. It is really pretty inside.
Love the food , amazing ambience .one of my favourites
very very nicely experienced in the hotel . you must experience this and enjoy the yacht sailing occasion.
Great tourist attraction, 5 star as all of us know and also a national pride especially after 26|11
It is one of the best heritage hotels in the world .
Extremely warm and friendly staff that makes you feel at home, over all a very pleasant stay.
Very nice attractive architecture.. identity of Mumbai..
Absoulute Royal experience one can ever have.....Fantastic Ambiance, great viewpoints, warm hospotality, delicious cuisines. ..everything spot on....
If you need best hotel then this the one of these with the sea facing the rooms are well maintained and good..
the service they gave me are cool..
just want to visit here again..
Visited shamiana for a late brunch on Sunday. It's the restaurant to your right when you take the main entrance, it serves a lovely buffet with great flavour and finesse in its execution. But what anyone should take back from a dining experience there is the level of service. Something that none of the other restaurants in Bombay have.
Omg! What can I say.. Its so awesome place o be and to visit. With family visiting, staying and spending some quality time is worth. All services are excellent. I wish I could afford more stays or get more chance to visit and explore more sections and services. Very nice place, excellent superb courteous services.
One of the best hotels in Bombay ... Love this place !
Great experience for once in life.
Middle class people cannot afford frequent visits.
Great view, lovely ambience, variety of food, very good service
They never fail to surprise us with their awesome hospitality and warm welcome. Our third stay at the Taj Mahal Palace, made us feel at home totally. The biggest comfort was having health faucet in the bathroom, the last time we stayed at the Tower wing, didn't have it, but they promptly fixed it upon our request. So I feel they really know how to keep the guests coming back. Keep up the excellent service.
I have seen it outside only it is closed when i have visited due to Renovation of Taj 's Top Point of Hotel.
Luxurious, beautiful ambience and flower arrangements, cordial and professional management and staff.
One of the best five star hotel in India. Visit the Souk for an amazing view
Taj Palace is posh!!
Everything here shows how a proper five star should be and the heritage building looks more like well maintained museum than hotel. Food was however a bit if downer and best can be termed as average. Aesthetics and ambience however were A+.
Near the Centre of the city . It made my shopping dinning very easy . Wonderful Stay at Taj Mahal Palace . They maintain a international standards when it comes to room maintenance, cleaning and service . hats of to theirs customer service .
Everything is awesome there, occurs expensive. The Royal look and feel of this place makes it a great experience. Food is good, but not traditional taste n feel. It's very well maintained and excellent service
The price is a bit high but the luxury service satisfies it. If you have extra money to spend this is da places for ya..
Worth to stay in heritage property
Swimming pool nice
Food awesome
Feel happy. Happening place
The name suggests everything. You don't need to read reviews to know about it's class. You just have to witness it for yourself.
Best view around the rest. Taj is the most famous for its tragedy incident in mumbai 27/11
Great "fancy" Indian restaurant in downtown Mumbai. Literally across the street from the Gateway of India. Would recommend the prawn curries in particular, and try and go with a larger group so you can try more things. The Japanese restaurant in this hotel is also exceptionally good.
Such a lovely place to stay in mumbai and amazing experience of Dinner also
Try being here once & get a first hand experience! And kindly magnify my review!
Its a very beautiful hotel in the India. I love this place.
This hotel is not only talked about. This hotel is my fv. hotel. I do visit this hotel as time goes by kari. I feel so much better to come here. I stay for one to two days when I come to this hotel. And I feel very happy here. The hotel's service is very nice. I feel good about everything here. This hotel is imposing. I feel like I have come to this hotel again and again. Whenever I wait for a visit to Mumbai, I will stop here.
Royalty to the next level. Nothing can beat this when it comes to class, style and service. It gives a royal touch and u feel you really live in a palace. Amazing !!!
Awesome place. The service they give and the way they treat guests is superb, the best. Awesome experience..
Beautiful Hotel For stay, food and for good time...
This is the most awesome place to visit in Mumbai ..
I had attended an event here and It was just amazing! I went there for the first time and I seriously couldn't stop bragging about it the entire day! Well look I'm still bragging ! The interiors are just so WOW! We were served Masala Tea and Freshly Brewed Coffee with cookies and ofcourse they tasted good! One must go to Taj atleast once! Sharing some pictures!!
I loved Taj Mahal Palace. It was my first time there every aspect of the place was outstanding. On the scale of ten I'll rate them ten :)
Awesome time spent at Taj Mahal. A memorable trip . Calm place feels very peaceful
Theirs is no words about the building is just pride and prestige from old bombay to new mumbai. Very nice and old Crunstuct building from British....most of the people come to see the from all over the world.....
But my opinion and experience was really bad cuz as per the service standards and time management not upto date I really don't want to go again here..... I never visit here again with my family and friends...they have very bad and pathetic kind of attitude even server knows everything and we don't know nothing like this.....this kind of attitude not gonna work please improve it...i will share with you all photos even I was screw up without having food in the morning time...it was unexpected ways.....how they present....as they behave with me it was totally horrible I don't wanna explain cuz.... It's good reputed n just mumbais tag and you can say Saunviour....
One of the famous hotel in Mumbai city. The Taj Palace Interior is well maintained. There staff behaviour is nice, and the rooms are also well maintained.
Went to Masala Kraft..
Top notch food and hospitality..
