Tajmahal Palace Hotel and Towers Mumbai are always been near to my heart has memories stored in heart and mind from 1989 when I have done my internship , it's a piece of marvel and stands proudly from 1903,now more than 100 years , has so many rememberence of visits of Kings, Presidents of different Nations, Hollywood and Bollywood stars, Sportsman, Global Musicians and till todate it's been hosting all and everyone, they have 11 restaurants the most popular is Massla Craft, Sealounge, Souk and evergreen 24 hour coffee shop named Shamiana, in between shamiana was uprooted from it's original lobby level location and placed somewhere and it hurted badly to it's regulars and recently it was shifted back to same place in lobby, was very happy and touched to see it and got it's glory back, a very good spread of breakfast buffet and Brunch on weekends and one great thing they have done is old days classic dishes in center of menu to get GUESTS NOSTALGIC in remembering old Classic of Shamiana, rooms are well equipped and small concerns like soaked almonds for energy of day, Fruit platter with local seasonal fruit. Was great visit after so many years.
One of the best hotel in Mumbai...shouldn't miss!!!
All the work that Mr. Tata put in, you get to know when you see it yourself. It is an awesome building. Bit you cannot click photos outside it because of Security reasons. Just in the front of Gateway of India. It has earned historical significance by now due to several reasons.
Not enough words to share the experience. It was very nice
Fantastic stay during the Republic day weekend ! once in a lifetime experience
The upkeep of the hotel is really nice, and in the lobby area they have so many flowers arrangement, couches were cozy, staff was humble, and more interesting part is in the passage they have old photos of celebrity guest which took u to that time
One of the most iconic heritage building and great place for luxury retail and hospitality
It has changed over the years. Excellent place. The overall look is grand . The staff polite. But, I must add, the old warmth n charm are now missing
Incredible. Ornate and beautiful. We had high tea and it was amazing. The chai was fabulous, the food went on and on. The desserts will outstanding. And not just delicious but absolutely beautiful. It was such a great experience. We had a table by the window which I recommend if you can get one. Looking out over the water most beautiful and relaxing. The shops on the main level are really great. everyone is very friendly, everything is very clean and very welcoming.
Very Good place for ambience and food is not that tasty
It's just like visiting a national monument . It has it's own identity.
Food, service & ambiance all are good. Nothing to complain about.
Visit is to experience history and heritage. Service and food is average.
We explored Shamiana and it was indeed a good service and tasty food.
I love this hotel, you feel so welcomed, every staff has a happy smile and are so service minded. The renovation/upgrade on the Tower room has been very successful. Recommend you to try the Dim Sum at Golden Dragon they are excellent.
Taj is Taj. The tajness experience is real, overwhelmed by the grandeur of the hotel ,every detail is catered to perfection. Legacy of 115 years. Amazing- A must visit .
It's awesome and it's structure is unique and available all facilities, beautiful nature in see
The staff is very good we got an upgrade to a better suite than we had booked .
As professional and polished as one would expect from the flagship of India s Tata business empire. No waiting around for attention - 800 staff are on duty at any one time, which generally works out at a staff member for every guest. Extra flourishes in the palace wing include 24-hour personal butler service and an in-house Vedic astrologer. There are also no fewer than 15 yoga and meditation classes to choose from, a private jet on standby at four hours notice, and a luxury yacht. The original building is a seven-tiered wedding cake of Gothic, Greco-Roman, Islamic and Rajasthan architecture topped by a glittering Florentine dome. The extravagant interiors are adorned with Italian marble floors, Belgian chandeliers and 4,000 works of art, most of them antique. The erstwhile horse and carriage entrance is a swimming pool shaded by mature palms. This was the first hotel in India to be installed with electricity, German lifts and Turkish baths. Portraits adorning the walls of the lobby are a Who s Who of royalty, heads of state and A-list celebrities. A 22-storey tower annex added in the 1970s offers more modest accommodation and services.
