I came to this venue to see Game Grumps Live, and I had some issues with security. I've never been to a place where I have to have my bra jostled to make sure I wasn't sneaking anything in; and I've been to multiple music venues before where this didn't happen. They also separated me from my boyfriend while checking us through security, and as a person with severe anxiety it really freaked me out. We were at the outdoor stage, and what was available inside of the venue was definitely targeted towards people who drink. The food was iffy at best, and the few non-alcoholic drinks weren't even worth the price. I would not attend another performance here unless things changed significantly. On the upside if you're a man and you drink alcohol, I guess this could be a fine place for you.

Seen the Dirty Heads at The Stone Pony and loved it!!! It's a small stage so you don't feel like your paying to watch ants on a stage. Everything was good besides you couldn't take your alcohol by the stage, they had a section for 21+ and the alcohol couldn't leave the area. Didn't actually go in the establishment just stayed outside to watch the show.

Amazing venue outside, wasn't what I expected (Cold brew coffee and a taco stand? neat!) and of course the bands were incredible! If another artist I want to see comes out there, I won't hesitate to drive all the way back.

I've been to the Stone Pony a few times, and really like it as a venue. This past experience really blew me away though. We went to see Umphrey's McGee two weeks ago, and I sprained my ankle a month before that. My ankle was still healing, so I had a supportive ankle brace on. My husband and I were waiting for our friend by the lifted platform on the side of the stage and one of the security guards came over and offered for us to come sit on the platform; I was amazed and appreciated the kind offer and it made the concert so much more enjoyable. While we were on the platform, they brought up a kid who clearly partied too hard. Instead of yelling at the kid, they fed him snacks and water and consistently checked in on him. I am incredibly impressed with the staff at the venue, they really went above and beyond to make it a wonderful experience for all. I can't say enough about how awesome they were!

My first time here and definitely my last. Way too crowded. The music is too loud.drowns out the singers. I love Almost Queen and have seen them many times. The music sounded off on several songs tonite. I dont know what happened but it just didn't sound right. I would rather go to The Strand or Count Basie!

Great music venue in a great town. You can see national acts to local acts. Plenty of world famous acts have came through the pony. Inside is small and intimate.. outside is open with a great set up. Sound is always good. If you enjoy live music this is a must go/bucket list place.

Great place by the beach for concerts indoor and summer outdoor concerts all by the beautiful Ocean. Grab a bite to eat before the concert at Pops Garage, Porta, or Langosta Lounge all within walkable distance and a nic stroll on the boardwalk. You can even stay overnight at the Asbury Hotel. Enjoy a town filled with shopping, spas, art, music and great food and located on the clean and beautiful NewJersey beach what more could you ask for?! Hop to it and have some fun I ll see you there !

I've been to The Stone Pony several times but I only go there if a band I really want to see isn't playing anywhere else close to me. Parking is a nightmare if the weather is nice. I drove around for 30 minutes looking for a spot before I gave up and paid $25 for a parking lot around the corner. If the show is inside, it gets so packed with people that you can barely move your arms. People are constantly bumping into you trying to pass through the crowd to get drinks or go to the bathroom. My shoes were soaked with spilled beer after the last show I attended there. The outside shows on the summer stage have a bit more breathing room but it's pretty much the same. After the show I was stuck in the parking lot for over 40 minutes on a line of cars that couldn't exit the lot because of traffic. The sound quality is good and if the show is outside you can smoke.

I'm from Maine, but I'm in New Jersey for the summer. My friend brought me here to watch his friend's band play. I was all excited because I've heard a lot about how iconic this place is and it was my first time on the Shore... then we got there. The bouncer stopped me and looked at my ID for a good 5 minutes. Since it's an out of state ID I'm used to that at this point, but when he started black lighting it for the second and third time I got nervous. At this point he BROKE IT IN HALF and told me it was fake. I'd like to take this opportunity to say it is actually a REAL ID from Maine that I've had since I was 16. I'm 21 now. I asked if he could have the police come verify that it was a legitimate ID since he was not inclined to believe me. He refused in a rude fashion, calling me a liar and telling me "real IDs don't bend in half." I asked to see the manager. The manager refused, also quite rudely. My friend ended up calling the police and when they finally showed up half an hour later they verified that it was a real ID also... As the cop was telling the bouncer this he STILL didn't want to believe it. Finally he let me in without even a real apology. Not worth the awful service and bouncers on a power trip. Glad I got to see my friend's band though, I guess.

One of the last great places to see live music at the shore.
Sound sucks (inside) it's packed, hot and sweaty and the drinks are over priced. Sounds perfect to me!
The outside stage is a whole different vibe. Plenty of room, better sound

They get good acts and it's a nice venue IF you can stand up for hours since there are no seats. If I were a lot younger I would love it. I saw Willie Nelson there this summer and the average age of the audience had to be 60 years old. And I'm older than that. They have a section for handicap seating and if you are in a wheelchair you sit right by the stage. But they demand some kind of handicap ID to get into the area where chairs are. Being old doesn't qualify. And you can't bring a chair, and sitting on a blanket in the middle of the crowd would not work either.

They have lots of food and drink vendors though, and convenient portable potties right there. So again if I were 20 years younger, I would love it.

went to asbury park with my wife today for the 1st time since 1983. wanted to support the shore. stopped at the stone pony and asked about shirts. we were allowed inside to buy shirts and after our purchase which exceeded 50.00 we asked to use the rest room. the woman that sold us the shirts said in a VERY FIRM tone...NO. i thought it was a little out of line considering....we WERE going to go to the concert (which would have been an additional 70+ dollars) but decided not to after that experience. there was a nice woman worker there did offer to take a pic of us in the bar which she did for us.

Terrible vibe in this place nowadays. Security is super uptight and hostile now; one of my friends who is very outgoing and vibrant was labeled as "too drunk" because she was speaking loudly in line. Security manhandled her then blacklisted her from the event. Inside there was security everywhere; even when I went to pee there as a man standing over my shoulder. I saw some kids jumping in the crowd and when one of them tripped a little bit, there was a security guy aggressively dragging him out in seconds.

I understand why its so tight though. A show I saw about a year ago was infested with overly sweaty, drunk, and violent headbangers whose idea of having fun is swinging their arms around with no regard for the people around them. However, the show I described above was the complete opposite of that; it had a very chill vibe.

All in all, from the terrible crowds to the hostile security to the mediocre drinks, this is one of my least favorite music venues now, which is sad because it used to be a classic
