Friendly staff. Clean. Reasonable prices for an iconic venue. Great sound system too!
This place is a classic. A for sure do not miss!!!!
Great place for drinks, music and memories but be ready to stand for most of the night.
I shouldn't tell you this, but in the way back room, of to the left is a window into a kitchen with some awesome tacos. It's a hidden gem. Don't tell anyone.
Jersey landmark, local music still lives here, along with all the best headliners.
Coolest place to see live music. We saw the band Johnny Fish and the Fins blow the roof off the joint last week
What can you say about the Pony need to come here and see it
The place where you have to stop if you want to see a great show right by the beautiful Jersey shore boardwalk.
Always a great time here, goos staff and strong drinks. Always good crowd. Bands like coming here and its easy to realize why.
After driving out to the shore from Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia in Friday afternoon holiday season rush hour traffic, a 3 hour drive, stop & go, SECURITY and MANAGEMENT were absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL. It s very unfortunate to the artists, Chris Lane and Mason Ramsey, who will NOT BE GETTING ANY MEDIA COVERAGE TONIGHT. Get it together folks.
It's very nostalgic for me but is way overpriced... It was worth it though!!!
Outdoor summer stage to see 311. Bought my 7 year old daughter and had a great time.
Great venue but summer shows start too early, at times
Lengendary Venue, Comfortable bar to hang out while in Asbury to toss back a few while listening to some great music. Staff was Great, Prices were very reasonable, pizza was Good and Atmosphere was Better. Definitely a visit if you live in the area or just visiting. Enjoy......
Classic music venue. The musical history here is awe inspiring! The Pony manages to walk the narrow line between authenticity and kitsch, being able to modestly cash in on their fame without "selling-out" and still staying relevant to a new generation. Their summer stage is able to bring the big names to the beach in a well laid out outdoor environment. While their indoor stage still retains the intimacy that allows the audience to see their musical fave's raucous moments up and personal. Kudos to the unsung heroes, the sound techs that keep it all sounding right whether it be your favorite 90's throwback rocking out on the Summer stage, a Springsteen cover band on a Wednesday evening or some up and coming talent playing their first real gig on a Sunday night, it almost always sounds good. While the Stone Pony may have a rich history it is by no means ready to be turned into a museum.
We had tickets to a show advertised as rain or shine and it was outright cancelled due to rain. Who s going to refund the Airbnb and train tickets we spent our money on? Nobody. Very poor show. Very poor organization. I was excited to come to the stone pony for the first time and now I never want to step foot in it. Thanks for nothing.
Great place to see new bands and to hang out with friends and of course have a great time!!! The bartenders are very friendly and it's a great night out!!
They say they have ADA seating for disabled but what they mean is we will shove you on a stool in the far back of the venue where you can't see the show.
Good local music tradition, this is the Pulse of area rock, and roll !
Live music and a ton of people even in a snow storm!!
This place is close to being an institution on the Jersey Shore. Came here to see a local band play and it s been years since I ve been in Asbury Park. The town has made a complete comeback from the days when it was a dump.
The Stone Pony hasn t changed. It s still the same dive looking place. And that s a compliment. It has a unique grit kind of feel that reminds you of the blue collar hard working days of Jersey past.
Most unprofessional and inappropriate security practices I ve ever been exposed to. A female staffer pulled my shirt down, exposing me, in order to grab a single shot out of my shirt before I even entered the premise. When I tried to complain to her manager, who was standing right next to her, about how inappropriately her staffer had handled the situation, the manager threatened to kick me out if I didn t keep moving after which the female staffer violently shoved me. My husband had to step between her and me in order to get her to back away from me. I complained to the head of security and he told me I should calm down and never held the woman responsible. The negligible amount of alcohol I had on me did not excuse the violent, extreme and disrespectful behavior of the stone pony s staff. I am truly disappointed that the Stone Pony management considers this to be acceptable behavior.
Can't leave once you get in... there are better places to see bands
Always awesome... especially when The Nerds are playing
What can I say about The Pony? I have been going here since the mid 1980's and still go to this day. The sights, sounds and the smells always makes me feel good and recall some many amazing times.
What a great live music venue! Friendly staff & awesome sound.
Outdoor stage is great, ample vendors and restroom facilities.
An amazing place with great shows and good atmosphere...
We saw Slightly Stoopid and enjoyed both the show and the bouncers tossing people out for smoking weed.
Been coming here for years!
Awesome venue!
If you're a fan of being manhandled by apes on a power trip, the stone pony is the place for you. During shows at the "summer stage" security act like storm troopers, pushing through paying customers to bully smokers in the crowd. If you smoke avoid this venue.
Back in the 90s they sold me a ticket for Oasis before Oasis was famous. The ticket they sold me was for Sunday. When I arrived on Sunday, they told me they had actually played on Friday... we had missed them.
My friend and I were so disappointed.
Then Oasis blew up and got mega-famous.
Still stings. Never got money back either. Drove 1.5 hours each way to get there, too.
Glad I can write a review about that.
Small local historic nightclub/music venue. Smaller than you might imagine based upon historic reputation, but the size is exactly what makes their history so remarkable. staff keeps excellent tabs on occupancy keeping the club crowded but not packed and, especially, keeping it safe.
I had an amazing experience there a few years ago, went there to see the band Cake.
Easy to park around and grab some food before a concert.
You can even go earlier to go to the beach, and there are public restroom in that area.
As a photographer I've shot a lot of different venues , but ask for The Stone Pony they are at the absolute top of my list for favorite concert venue 2 be able to photograph such amazing sets, bar-none, time and time again, they never disappoint!
Great outdoor venue, I always love seeing shows here. Food and drink prices are reasonable, too.
Cmon iconic, that simple. Drinks fairly priced, what else do you need?
One of the best venues for live music! Always makes great memories!
Great historic concert venue. Lot of great bands got their start here. Good bar with lot of history. Now has huge outside concert stage for summer concert series. One block off beach. Great ocean and boardwalk views. Asbury Park again an up and coming community. Worth the trip for a night at the Stone Pony of live bands, or daytime outdoor concert series, and day at the beach.
It s a place to see music. A lot of history, got it. Can get way too crowded inside or out for summerstage.
Smoking permitted everywhere outside at summerstage. There should be a designated smoking section. That s just my 2 cents.
Caroline, the manager, is awesome. If you have any issues, give her a chance to make it better. She represents this historical landmark very well. We saw Jake Clemons & Jared was walking amongst the crowd like he's nobody special. I got some great pics with him! The Stone Pony does not disappoint.
The "Cathedral" of what's good about rock n roll......
Went to the Stone Pony while I visited Asbury park NJ. The Stone Pony bar was not open but they let me in to view the whole bar, take pictures and buy some gifts. Small could be seen as a dive bar but famous for who played there.
A living, breathing, American Museum. If in Asbury Park budget time to visit.
Great venue for live music. Bruce Springsteen & Jon Bon Jovi played some of their earliest works here before their rise to superstardom. Offering live music all year round inside and out on their summer stage. Located directly across the street from the shoreline and boardwalk, The Stone Pony has much to offer!!
Another great time at the Stone Pony!!!!!

One of the best live music venues in the area that continues to do it right. Cheap drinks, reasonably priced tickets, excellent performances and a fun local crowd. Sometimes it gets cramped and hot, but they have a coat check, which helps. Dress in light clothing and you'll be fine!
The pony rocks...we had such a good time....STP toar up the summer stage...plenty of facilities and no problem getting beverages with the massive crowd stp drew in...my first visit but definitely not the last
It was better in the past before the NY crowd invaded. Not like it used to be. However, the staff is great. Friendly and good pours. They DO have some awesome line ups for the Summer Stage, but there's nowhere to sit outside and visibility of the stage can be poor, especially if you're not a tall person. Top acts really get a crowd and it gets SO crowded that it's uncomfortable.
Awesome place to see a show. Love the summer stage and a great beer selection also.
