Great times at the Stone Pony... Pfister is 1 of the best bartenders there!!! Super fun and entertaining... Bobby Jones is the man!
I mean it's The Pony... What can you say about this iconic Jersey shore monument... Even better during the summer months with the summer stage set up!
I've seen a ton of bands here over the years - the only thing that stinks is not being able to go back into the concert after you enter.
Great outdoor venue for seeing shows if you are smart just park at the city provided on street parking and park a few blocks away
Looks like a cool venue with a great amount of history and many awesome musicians booking. Some day will check our a show but today just a drop by.
Great lady selling t shirts. Very gracious and awesome. Great experience!! Thank you Pony!!
The security here made our experience unforgettable, in the worst way possible. Saw a GREAT band, but now I might have to worry about identity theft... really? worth it? Absolutely not.
It was terrible. My girlfriend and I went to see the game grumps live show and we got VIP tickets. The entire venue was confused on the whole VIP concept and we VIP's who were confused and didn't want to be mixed in with the general admission were treated like garbage and a second thought. We both said never again will we go to the stone pony.
we attended the Violent Femmes show and couldn't have been more shocked at the total aggro behavior of the "security" , which is really a shame. These college age boys are ruining the show by standing in front of customers, standing completely still like a huge mountain, looking for people having fun, and then they swoop in and harass. They were roving through the crowd specifically looking for patrons to bully. It was depressing and shocking to see such over blown egos on parade during I show that was filled by people mostly 40+. I don;t need a boy half my age to police my fun. I saw an entire family lead out because the 20 yr old daughter had one sip of a juice mixed drink from her mother's cup. Ridiculous!
Saw Coheed and Cambria here. Amazing show. Pretty cool town and venue.
Historic venue with easy access to the beach. Average drink prices for a concert venue. Wonderful sound quality and knowledgeable staff here.
"It is what it is" may be an overused (and possibly lazy) phrase, but I'll put it this way: if a face performer or band shows up on the bill, just GO.
Overall great show, I sat in special needs area which was overwhelmed with intoxicated concert goers. I like the concept of having an area designated for people in need but it was over run with people who didn't belong there. Security did a good job policing what they could. I won't use that access again. I would give it 5 stars for the staff and music.
My daughter plays here regularly with several different bands. Always a great space and fantastic sound. Love the indoor stage just as much as the summer stage.
Historic and Intimate music venue. Great bands play there. Worth the trip to see a show.
Rebelution third time in a row and not the least bit disappointed! Great staff also.
You can bring the kids to the playground on the beach across the street and enjoy the music just fine without having to actually buy tickets - a great deal as far as I'm concerned.
Great intimate venue by the beach. Summer stage shows are a blast.
The entire Back to Black album of Amy Winehouse was not performed as stated. I was disappointed due to the false advertisement.
One of my favorite places to see shows. A must go place when you're down the shore.
What can I say, great, no frills place to hear music. Last time I was there himself showed up, so you never know.
Legendary music venue. The indoor room is pretty small with a raised stage and a couple of bars.
It can be hard to see the band of you aren't close to the stage and short so get there early to get in first. I would not hesitate to come here for a show. The sound is amazing and if you can see you will see a lot as you are always close to the stage. It is standing room only with no seating except off to the side and very limited. During the summer they have concerts outdoors. Again there are no seats.
Parking can be limited especially during the summer as the club is across the street from the beach/boardwalk.
The beach area by the club is heavily patrolled by police and very safe with plenty of bars and restaurants.
It's a classic. What more can you say about it...
Decent parking, clean enough bathrooms, delivers decent musicians. They need to invest in line array; current speaker quality is bad.
Great venue for live music. Typically not my cup of tea and the crowd is a little trashy
No other place like it. Great venue and great shows. Just wished outdoor stage was higher. Very hard to see bands if are under 6' tall.
Awesome historic rock venue. You can feel the history when you are there. Drinks arent too expensive
We just stopped by to see the history on a Sunday morning not thinking it would be open. They were open, selling cool merchandise and were really friendly. A must for any music fan.
Great sound. Awesome acts. Intimate setting on the beach.
Nice medium sized venue, known as the place Bruce Springsteen made famous. It is right in the heart of the Asbury Park boardwalk, so lots to do before and after concert. You can also hang out outside the venue and listen for free when they are playing on the summer stage.
This was the Punk Rock Bowling Festival in NJ. Great outdoor venue. Gets chilly when the sun goes down! Reasonably priced drinks and a great atmosphere.
A day at the beach, followed by an outdoor gig? You really can't argue with that. If you like a band that's playing here, you'll like seeing them here.
Been going here over 30 years,Seen so many great shows.
Overpriced drinks, good music, fun place when they dont over sell & stuff the place
Fun place. Absolutely no place to sit down. I went for a concert standing room only for 4 hours and not a chair in sight period inside or outside or near the bar come on give us a break
A classic spot to visit. The whole area is being revitalized with new construction, so parking may be a little tight.
They kick people off for throwing 3 water bottles, be wary.
The Stone Pony is part of music history. That says enough.
Iconic. Nothing else to say. This place is one of the last remaining old school venues out there and you should go, always.
Fun fun lovers all round lick urself and taste the values of a moral phalap!!
one of my favorite venues for shows in asbury next to the lanes
A National Treasure.....magical musical moments next to the Atlantic
After my latest trip on May 6, 2017 to the Stone Pony to see The Damned I solidified my knowledge of this historic venue. To date this is the second time I've visited, first was in 2016 for Punk Rock Bowling and I was impressed with the outside stage and lot for larger events. Inside is full of rock memorabilia and 3 bars one of which allows seating. The audio was fantastic, and the view was great from anywhere in the venue. I will definitely return. Oh, the knowledge I mentioned is Southside Johnny and Steven Van Zandt, both of who had their own bands and played, and still play, integral parts with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
The venue creates a personal environment with the artist playing and makes for an enjoyable experience. The staff are friendly when they aren't given a hard time. I highly suggest purchasing tickets here to avoid fees.
Always the most amazing time. If you haven't been, go. If you have been, go again...and again.
I never quite understood the allure of this place. Iconic acts who have played here aside, there are several more interesting places to see live music in Asbury. The outdoor area is great but can get insanely crowded in the summer. Not a bad place by any means, but somewhat over rated.
Classic, iconic great music in one of our favorite places. Nils Lofgren rocked the house.
Lots of parking, (the earlier the better) really cool staff and beach + music always equals a great day of fun
I'll give this the same review as Wonder Bar...just like the rest of Asbury since the corporate takeover by store and Madison Marquette the edginess is gone.
