The Stone Pony Review

While at a dropkick and flogging Molly show , my wife and I where thrown out of the venue because I put my wife on my shoulders. Never mind the crowd surfing or the moshpits the security people said what I was doing was to dangerous and we got tossed . It's a shame because I really enjoy this venue but I think what they did was just flat out rediculus

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING OFF OF THEIR WEBSITE.

Two weeks since ordering 2x $30 tshirts, no confirmation number, no tracking number, no response via email, nothing, just a statement from my bank. This company should not be accepting payments online if this is their level of organization and customer service. Still waiting for even a response for a refund.

Great atmosphere! Great beer! Few remaining rock venues! Legendary place.

Great experience. Sound quite was awesome. Drinks and food tasted excellent and didnt break the bank! Would recommend over other venues in the area.

Amazing outdoor venue. Can't get better than watching the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Bouncing Sould perform in front of you while the Atlantic Ocean is right behind you.

It was great to walk in to Stone Pony after 40 years ..

Security is heavy handed and out of shape...Instead of handling issues with equal vision they prefer to put hands on people first....Last time

The Stone Pony and it's epic Summer Stage may be the most badass, glorious and beautiful venue in all of New Jersey, if not the whole continent. Nothing is better than enjoying an excellent show and than having the ocean right outside the gates. Asbury Park is a wonderful place and I highly recommend going to a show here and enjoying anything the city has to offer.

Had a ball ,the bands and the food were great...Got to meet the artists....Only thing just ask to see the price menu for drinks everyone charges different prices,

I would give zero stars if I could. For no reason, they threw my friend out and claimed that he threw a woman into a handicapped bathroom and flipped it over... he was with us the entire time. We were standing in the crowd next to security for 10 minutes and they grabbed him out of nowhere to throw him out. When we told security that it wasn't him they said that they didn't know who did it, they didn't see it and they don't care. NEVER go here.

Great summer stage set up. Thin on vegetarian food options beyond french fries. Fair prices on beer. Arrive early for street parking.

I went here to see a Sum 41 concert. It was a great time though in truth it was extremely packed, more so than I usually experience in these type of venues. It got to the point where I had to fend for my life in a crazy mosh pit. Besides the near death experience, it was a pretty great time. I would suggest that next time they don't book as many people!

The power went out so they decided to cancel all the shows... they should have a generator... the staff was really rude to the people , yelling at them to leave and harassing me at the front door as I was waiting for a ride. I m 19 and I don t look young but the guy as the door was asking me if I was waiting for my parents?! He said it with a rude tone. Overall bad experience; the staff needs some work or maybe a few fists to the face.

The pony is a special place but takes itself as a venue a little too seriously at times. It's about the show. Go there be part of it all.

Great venue. Sound was very good. No long lines for beer or for portajohns. Bobby Jones, the head of security, is a stand up guy and took great care of my buddy who had a minor injury. Can't wait for Punk Rock Bowling 2017 at Asbury Park.

A historical music venue . Anywhere from local to national known bands. Great rock venue. Jersey shores best .

The tickets prices are pretty affordable, the summer concerts are outside which is pretty cool cause not many places do that

Lots of smoking at summer stage concerts. Very high food prices and low quality. Rough, rude security personnel.

Awesome staff and bartenders. They always have a wide variety of bands. I highly recommend the Pony if you're looking for a great time.

Iconic bar. Great atmosphere and the prices are decent. The first visit from Chicago we saw a Springsteen cover band which was so appropriate! This last time also a great band at the summer stage.

Great venue to witness a more personal show. Outdoor stage is always a good time. Good location with plenty parking on street.

Been going to shows here for forever. It's nothing fancy on the inside, but it's a good venue for shows, since the stage is right there. They also have a summer stage. I haven't been in the venue for those, but the boardwalk is a fun place during the shows, if you can't go inside

Great place to see a show, just the right size and multiple cars so there's seldom a long wait. Food in the back is pretty good and people running it are all friendly

I never had a bad time at the stone pony! They bring in the best rock bands.

What can you say, the Pony is a classic. One of the first shows I attended was at the Pony and it's one of my favorite local venues. Small and cozy with friendly employees, I'd always choose to see a show here. It's just across the street from the beach and close to restaurants and bars (with two bars inside the venue itself!), so within walking distance of plenty to do. Parking can be tricky in Asbury, especially if you're not looking to pay for it, but it's doable (with free parking being a bit of a walk away). Overall, great sound, well-priced, and a fun space.

If you don't know the name, you don't know music - or Asbury Park !

Best place to see concert. So close to stage. In winter you're super close.

You can't get more Jersey than the Pony. Great live music venue with indoor and outdoor events. If you're in the area check it out!

Great atmosphere for concerts. Unfortunately overpriced like any public event anymore for beverages or food. They gouge the willing.

Classic club to see live music...but you take a chance if you don't already have pre purchased tickets...last two times I got shut out...the last time was the worse..could of bought the last 2 tickets for the show, but they wouldn't sell me them because my friend was still in the parking lot trying to get the parking meter for the parking lot to work...they wouldn't let me stand there and wait for him and they wouldn't let me leave the club...I ended up leaving not happy...why the hell did we HAVE to pay for parking on a Saturday night at 8:15pm and it's not even summer?

My family and I are huge Bruce fans and are vacationing in Asbury Park and tried to go to the stone pony for drinks and to buy a shirt one night. A security guard said at nights they re only open for concert-goers but to come back during the day 12pm-5pm for the bar/gift shop. Undertandable. We come back the next day at 2pm and the guard said they re closed for a band meet and greet. We asked if they ll be open all day tomorrow and he said yes. We come back the next day and the guard said they re closed but to come back in 30 mins. We came back in 45 mins and a different guard said they re closed for the day. I love Bruce but screw The Stone Pony.

So much fun to see all of the history inside. They have great music that you can enjoy from inside with a drink or if you're passing by on the boardwalk. Definitely a good piece of history and a good place to visit if you're in the area.

Way too hot and crowded in the summer. I had asked to hose us down to cool off. Fortunately you CAN buy COLD water to pour on yourself to cool off. Leave your spot hard to get back to it.

Great venue employees are super nice. Great place to see a show.
