Whether a quick lunch, small gathering or private party, I've enjoyed each visit to the standard. They place has style, vision and just enough privacy to avoid feeling "stuffy" or high brow.
Super cool hotel with a lot of space. One of the few hotels you can get a king size bed in with some room to move. Extremely comfortable. Also love the shower and bathroom set up. The beer garden is always a plus as well :-)
Ugly!
Looked up and down by staff dressed like hookers. I felt sorry for them having to wear such an inappropriate uniform.
Not ushered to a seat.
So many empty tables with reserved signs.
Thrown a sticky drinks menu over the bar.
Walked out in discussed.
I will ensure everyone I meet hears about this pretentious upstart of an establishment.
Excellent. Pleasant, quality food, wine and service.
Nice hotel with good food options, friendly staff and amazing views. But other than that it's lacking in convenience and tried to make up for it with style black tiles. Black plugs. Black light switches made for some painfully awkward fumbling in the dark.
Convenient and hip place with 2 rooftop bars / clubs
Fun rooftop bar... We enjoyed it and we had a great time
It seems a bit over priced for what you get. Room is tight and Hotel staff aren't that friendly. Place seems more focused on making money as not about the customer experience.
Steph, the hostess, provided unbelievably great hospitality! We felt like we were coming to stay with friends!
I got married in NYC on Dec. 16, 2012, and we partied on the rooftop bar which was amazing and then spent a fabulous night in one of their beautiful suites with the massive windows and views of the river.
I believe my wife said - "Okay, I want to come here at the minimum of every 5 years." LOL.
The Standard High Line is exquisite. Unfortunately due to my age I was not allowed in the restaurant, but the host guided me to the bathrooms where the view of Manhattan was phenomenal.
Great location, iconic building, good decor. Had some issues with room phone, wind coming in through under door gap..
Great views. That's it. Everything else... Is not that good.
The bed was too low as well as the TV.
The room has no closet. So you will have everything on your suitcase for your stay.
The room has no privacy. No door in the shower.
Room service is slow and inacurate.
the hotel staff was terrible, extremely rude to us. especially, they are the ones messed up.
My girlfriend and I just returned home from an amazing visit to the Standard High Line. Everything about our visit was perfect, from the hospitality, to the room service! We got upgraded to the best hotel room in NYC that I've ever stayed in. Spectacular views in every direction! The bed - unbelievable. It looked like my girlfriend was sleeping in a cloud. We can't wait for another visit, and it will probably been sooner than expected! Huge thumbs up!
I'm not completely sure where the standard is. But I must have walked past it while walking on the high line. That is a good location for a hotel. And it is very close to the village and other interesting places.
Amanda D Souza, the front office assistant director, made it a 5 star experience for me. When I checked out and voiced my complaint, she addressed it right away to my satisfaction. I will definitely come back. My room had amazing views of lower Manhattan, the Hudson River, and Jersey City. The room was small, but well designed and nicely decorated. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. The shower, though splashing everywhere, had great water pressure, and the tub was deep and fit two with views. It was definitely among my best hotel experiences. And again, Amanda helped bring a perfect ending.
Only checked out the lobby. The decor is very stylish
Very hard to find main entrance through decor outside. Interesting interior decor as well. Room was very small - especially for 2 people as we were getting ready for a holiday party. But the bed was comfortable and we had a good view of the city skyline. I've posted pictures of decor in the front of the hotel.
Nice but overated! Nice view, and nice place, but less than what it's named for...
Very nice establishment we were lucky to be on the Hudson side on the 14th floor. The room has a breathtaking view, quality bedding, by cons corridors access was not impeccable. Reception ok (no French language on arrival) bath, shower Italian shower and shampoo and conditioner. Very satisfied with the room. The only problem to note, the establishment has a nightclub on the top floor (sound noticeable)
Simply amazing! The rooms, service, bars and restaurant!!!
Great view of the Hudson, welcoming front staff, and the housekeepers are always very friendly.
Was there for an event. The staff had everything well organized, all events ran in time. Very friendly and accommodating.
Great environment and view!! Highly recommended to visit!!!
Horrible straff at entrance of rooftop, we were a family of 5 looking for having a drink for The adults and a soda for the one kid. But the host at the entrance basically yelled "everyone has to be over 21" that's really bad service for a hotel like that. What a disgrace....
Wish they would wash the windows. Was very hard to see out and we booked here for the view, so that was a little disappointing. The view was awesome though! Very noisy/thin walls. Room service was great.
Very noisy u can here everything including next room flushing bath. Not a good idea to rest or been isolated while in your room. Room are very small for the price u pay. I general I did not like it, i guess is difficult to find a good place to stay nowadays in NY. Oh wait 2 month ago we Stated at TRUMP int hotel and was amassing...I dont think the standard is a 4 star hotel at all.
We wanted to stay at The Standard to stay at a modern, upscale hotel for a holiday weekend. To our dismay, the rooms were imperfect and below or expectation, given we were paying around $500/night to stay there. We got to see 4 rooms (large party), and all rooms had similar cleanliness problems. This hotel is in dire need of a renovation, and we won't be coming back until that happens.
There is no bathtub in the room, but the room is comfortable.
Walked the highline late at night. The walkway was clean with plenty of cool places to sit and take in the view.
Loved the atmosphere , view but especially kind stuff...
Very nice place. There is a beergarden with a backyard and the club Le Bains on the roof. Clean and nice Hotel.
Location is great, a little loud at night to get to sleep though.
Cool room, great rooftop bar, trendy location, and when my partner and I requested the 'intimacy kit' just to find out what was in it, it included a Slinky. We're still wondering what we were supposed to do with it.
Great hotel. Comfy bed, excellent location. Very cool bathroom
The lighting is odd, but the rooms are nice. The decor is interesting and the views are awesome.
Was in town for a professional event. Hotel staff kept themselves available, were very helpful, and courteous. The room (standard queen) was the expected size for New York, with a phenomenal shower and separate oversized soaker tub. I didn't hear other guests at all, other than a couple of doors closing. Great mini bar options, though I'm a cheapskate and didn't indulge. They have several in room extras, the book 19 84 was displayed with a note asking us to steal it, and when we're charged the $10 bucks for it, they'd donate that to an arts foundation. Also they have a Hotline to connect you to your representative in congress. With a sample script of how to get your info across. Also, outside on the street they have a 'Dr Who-esque' phone booth with the same connectivity to congress. All in all, great hotel, great service, great experience!
Nite life is fun
Plenty of lounges n bars
Estuve en Leben, amazing view, great service a little pricey.
The staffs are very nice and professional, highly recommended to everybody
Our go to hotel in NYC. We love this place and all those who work here. It s a must stay destination. Go to the Top of the Standard!
the standard hotel is a great place for a meeting, eat or stay. the food is great & the outside bar in the summer is S W E E T. Great rooms with a view. i also love the way the hallways smell like bergamont. go visit the bar or the hottest roof top clubs in the city le bain or the boom boom room
Nice hotel. Room was small but clean. Bar scene was hopping downstairs.
Cool vibes, but noisy; pretty difficult to sleep even with earplugs.
Rooms are great size for NYC. Hip hotel with great access to restaurants and bars. Wish the bathroom faucet had more than an inch clearance however.
Nice rooms, prefer this one to the east village. Rooms there are tiny. Better views on this side of the city too
Almost 100%. I have stayed here so many times I lost count. The architecture, the vibe and design are just the best!! The front desk service is always top notch. The night servers in the standard grill are a 4.1 out of 5, most are super great and the guy who cooked my kids burger was told by my kid he cooked the most perfect burger. The morning servers on the other hand need some serious training, the manager was great and the bartender was really good, the rest of them in the morning though was need to.learn steps of service and and stop gathering in one area to chit chat as we could everything they were chatting about. Outside of that which on the scale.of.things is minor compared.to everything everything they offer and they are. They are still one of.my.favorite hotel brands around the US.
Great location, original, nice view, very clean, a real experience. Service often impersonal and disorganized high price 8 dollars a coffee!) Hence four stars
Too much attitude and not enough high quality service which you could expect in a high end place like that.
Nice rooms, convenient location and great neighborhood
