Met up with a friend who was staying there. We ate at The Standard Grill and the food was delicious and very fresh. Both of us had fish and we shared our salmon and trout and both were delicious.

It's a nice hotel, a bit rich for my own personal requirements, but I was there visiting a friend, everything was nice and clean as it sound be the area is very nice especially with the high line park, right there and the sun set view is just wondrous to look at. The staff was friendly and the overall decor was just relaxing.

TLDR; NOT ALLOWED ON THE ROOF AFTER BUYING ROOM TO WATCH FIRE WORKS ON 4TH OF JULY.

Got a room here for the 4th of July thinking the roof top would be a good place to watch fireworks. Appearently the doorman for the roof top is separated from the hotel so they can tell guests false reason why they are not allowed to the roof top bar. The first time we were told the roof top was closed. When asking the front desk they told us that the door man can reject whoever he wants based on girl to guy ratio (I was with my gf and another couple). I returned to the entrance once more and was told there was a private party happening.

This place is great - if you are a hipster.

That being said, the view from the 11th floor was nice (especially given that we were here for the 4th of July), and it was only a block or two from the A-C-E subway, so getting around was not hard.

Also, check out the elevators. You won't be disappointed there.

Stayed here twice for work. Location is great, highline is beautiful. The gym (pictures) is absolutely breathtaking. The rooms are small, but very bright and have great views. Wifi is a bit slow (but you can upgrade if you have $$). The biergarten downstairs is sort of a scene but worth seeing at least once. I had a bad experience with a clerk in my 2nd stay but the office was very apologetic and the rest of our stay was fabulous.

Lovely restaurant. Great ambiance and good food. The cheese plate was superb. The highlight of our visit was the excellent service. Our server, Marco who also had a really fabulous mustache was friendly, helpful, energetic and had a great sense of humor!

Great location in a great part of NY. I would stay there again but there are a couple things to know:

1. The shower doesn't have a door (br does phew) - keep that in mind if you split the room with a friend.
2. The elevator has the trippiest video I have seen in a long time
3. Jay Z got kicked by Beyonce's sister at this hotel
4. At night the roof turns into a club and they reduce the available elvators from 4 to 2. It had 0 impact on my stay except I thought I was going crazy. Nothing like coming to the elevator late at night and having everything rearranged. Made sense once I asked...

unless you can get a seat in the back room, you will be annoyed by the douchebags out in force at this place. their food and drinks are quite overpriced too. 8$ for a pretzel that isn't very good?

The views from the top bars are amazing if you don't mind the price of drinks. Nice bar staff but they don't let you go in between Le Bain and the Top of the Standard bar even though there's just a door in between them - you have to take the lift down, queue up again and then take another lift up.

Took a trip to the rooftop bar, we had a great view, nice areas to lounge and dance. The property is very cool alltogether. Only issue I had was the bartender I ordered a drink from messed up on my friend and i's drink. We only asked for two different drinks, he made three, two of them were correct but he didnt poor alcohol in my two ingrediant drink. I watched him only poor club soda, he claims he put two shots of alcohol in the drink (I am a bartender who was sober and did not taste alcohol in my drink) so, since he disagreed with me security escorted me out. Had a very bittersweet expierience.

You go here for quick drinks and maybe a crepe on the roof! One day maybe I will be able to afford dinner in the BoomBoom Room but until then I can only dream of the day when i rock a sick pack abs at a hot tub in the club and dance the night away with my ultra fancy rich friends! YOLO

Standard beer garden is a great place to have a German beer or German food. They work on a ticket system so the bar line moves quickly. Note that beer and food tickets are $9, so the beer is a bit pricey but the food is a great deal.

THE STANDARD DOES NOT KEEP THE STANDARD FOR YOUR M...

THE STANDARD DOES NOT KEEP THE STANDARD FOR YOUR MONEY - THE VIEW IS ALL - BUT : The view is nice if you go up - IF YOU LIKE TO SLEEP IN THE NIGHT - WITH NO NOISE FROM THE DISCOTHEQUE 18 TH FLOOR BUM BUM BUM BAS untill 3 in the night / morning then this is NOT for you.

They pretend to be smart, but the smartness is words and pictures : I did not sleep after a long day with visits here and there. Coming home to 16 th floor about 12 in the night after a nice Restaurant ( FIG & OLIVES near ) I want to find a calm room.

Next morning I wanted and expected from a smart or hip Hotel to find GREEN and healthy brunch / Breakfast. I saw cakes and stupid girls with no sense of service. I was angry and took my breakfast at the Rockefeller ground and was happy and relaxed. However, then I had to change, to find a room with no BUM BUM BAS all the night. Reception kind and positive. Now I am in 9 th floor room 11 ( ! ) . OK.

I wanted to see the weather in the big nice TV. TV no respond. 30 minutes I called reception and they sad we send someone. No man yet !

I hope for The Standard that they will survive with the Bank until the Museum, under construction next ground WHITNEY MUSEUM will open 2015. I really think they must change important things to achieve guests coming back. Or they like to have new guests? Like the souvenirmen ?

The Taxi drivers know allready that The Standard is for teenagers liking BUM BUM BAS noise. I will definitely NOT come back.I stayed before coming excellent in Charlotte N. C. Hilton before coming here. What a difference, my God - and even more expensive here. This does NOT give good meaning.

The Tribeca area is so exciting with all, but there are different hotels also with a view to The Hudson River - Find this and sleep. I am honest.I am still waiting the TV service. I called the Reception for more than 30 minutes. Take care.Choose not The Standard. They have High Line - the earlier rail - but this does NOT give high line standard for this concrete hotel next Hudson River N. Y.

I went here in December with my boyfriend for post-dinner drinks. It was brilliant, the prices were similar to London so I wasn't too shocked and we had a table by the window which I highly recommend booking - I think we were the envy of most of the people in there! The views were superb and we had some delicious cocktails!

This was my first experience staying overnight in Manhattan, and it was awesome. The hotel was in a great location, on top of the Highline, which is really cool on its own. There is a rooftop bar, and beer garden, and a very nice outdoor restaurant at the bottom of the hotel. The room was small, but really cool. Everything I needed, with an entire wall being floor to ceiling windows looking out over the Hudson and at Freedom Tower. The guy at the front desk was great, taking time to explain all of the amenities, which there are a lot of. The gym is on the 17th floor, and three of the four walls are all glass, looking towards the river. They keep the lights low in there, so looking out over the lights and water while doing a late night bike ride was a unique experience. Most people migh not appreciate this, but they had nice spin bikes with SPD clip in pedals.

Tiny tiny rooms. Pretentious service all around. I ate at the courtyard in front of the hotel the night I arrived (Monday) and waited at the hostess stand, waited to have my drink order, waited for my drink and food to be delivered, waited for my check. All I wanted was a quick bite after a long flight and this experience was horrible. The second night I had a great Sushi dinner a few blocks away and returned to have a drink on the Rooftop before heading to bed. My hotel key card wouldn't give me access to the top floor. When I checked at the front guest, the receptionist suggested I try the door on the side of the hotel. When I did the couple in front of me and the couple behind me were allowed in but I was told "invite only". What a shot to the ego - I'm not THAT old and was dressed reasonably well. Tucked my tail and walked back to the front desk where they explained "it's a tight door tonight, sorry". Much tighter than $450 per night to stay in one of their rooms? I felt mildly humiliated and vowed to stay somewhere else next time. Shame is that I've stayed here 20 nights last year and never had this kind of experience.

Decent hotel, rooms are small but that's typical for NYC. Bed was comfortable, room config was a bit odd with the bathroom split on two sides and no shower door or curtain into the entryway. Also, you have to shower in the dark. Basically no light in the shower either. Stayed in a room on a middle floor so pretty quiet.

There were many positive aspects to my stay with my partner at the Standard Highline. First, they have a top notch cleaning staff that was extremely friendly. Additionally, we were both impressed by our modern room "pod" laden with chic furniture and positioned perfectly toward the Downtown NYC skyline. The opportunity to get a workout with a view on the 17th floor was also a great plus. However, our stay was not without a few issues. Overcrowding on the elevators was a frustration. And, for at a premium price, A MODERN HOTEL should not upcharge for hi speed wifi. The wifi was slower than free wifi at Starbucks. Their response to our request for improved wifi was cavalier. The attempt to upcharge guests for wifi, water, and coffee in their room is a poor business practice. An improvement in service could make this hotel go from good to great.

Supercilious doorman, intoxicated by his own sense of self importance, refused our party admission as one didn't have ID with her - he would have to have been blind not to see she was well over 60.

Location and view were great. Room was laid out well but there were serious problems with water control. No matter which way I turned the bath faucet it was scalding hot- basically rendered it useless. Overall OK but with competing hotels all around the city at the same price point, I expected more.

Smallish, but has a beautiful view from the indoor rooftop. Disco ball atop a pool. Weather permitting, there's a lovely upstairs outdoor bar & lounge seating with a more panoramic view and chill vibe. Depending who the DJ is, I would definitely go back.

Location is nice, but the rooms/ hotel looks a bit dated, there's no tea/ coffee maker, and it gets really noisy from the club music on the rooftop. The gym has nice views, but it gets warm and there's no free water.
