I imagine that the view must be beautiful from some rooms but the "view of the building site" with "opposite the shopping center" is hard to pass when you pay for a "panoramic view room" ... Small room , poorly arranged and without any privacy ... Extremely disappointed ...

Trendy but comfortable. Enjoyed my stay, friendly staff, easy check-in and check-out. Word to the wise, the showers are completely exposed to the bedroom so don't plan on sharing the room with someone you don't want seeing you naked. Proximity to the High Line is a plus if you haven't yet experienced New York's elevated park. Great views from the rooms, the Hudson River view is worth the extra dough.
Lovely hotel with amazing views. Enjoyed the living room bar and the rooftop bAr which had unbelievable views. Our room was lovely. Even got to ice skate!
Not worth it. Next time I'll stick with the Hyatt Union Square. The best part of this hotel is the view. The service, location sucks. Emphasis on the service sucking. Never again.
Apparently this hotel is only 6 years old, but the exterior and interior are so well and cohesively designed, it feels like a reconstructed period piece from the 60s or 70s. The staff is quite friendly, and I especially appreciated the complimentary bicycle fleet that I used to head up the adjacent Hudson River Greenway. The small room had a big bed, built in seating at a table, a closet, a tiny room with a toilet, and a giant soaking tub, shower, and sink mostly open to the room. I had problems with the safe, hair dryer, and there were stains on the bed cover - things you should never see at this price level. There's a bit of a party scene going on weekend, so be prepared for some noise and ask for a room away from the elevators if you're trying to go to sleep before returning drunk revellers.
Get the giant punch bowl of booze and watch how fast a seemingly normal office party goes from boring to krunked in 5 seconds! Awesome! I still can't find my pants!
Le Bain on top of the Standard Hotel is great for cocktails, socializing with friends and making new ones. The rooftop has a spectacular view of Manhattan.
Excellent brunch location conveniently off of the high line. The various entrees are all classic brunch fare and are prepared well. They also offer "boozy doughnuts" which provide a little extra "brunch boost" for those seeking drinks. I would recommend The Standard to anyone looking for a casual paced dining experience, as items tend to come out of the kitchen a little slow. Overall a good experience worth your time.
The roof top bar is great with amazing views of the city and overlooking the Hudson. Cocktail prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is first class. Would heartily recommend this bar to any visitor to New York
Worst hotel I ve stayed in in my whole life, rooms are basic and very dated, no privacy in rooms, it all open plan, the wardrobe is just a curtain, honestly everything is bad in those rooms! The hotel is not very clean too, we found some body hair in shower and toilet, I don t understand how can anyone like this hotel
Great design, great location, reasonable value. The restaurant and bar get pretty crowded and noisy in the evening, but are very pleasant on a weekend morning.
As a local, I've always enjoyed entertaining clients and friends at their restaurant and terrace, however, there is one very special person - Antoine B. - at the bell desk. He is incredibly friendly and every time he sees my dog, he immediately goes in and gets him organic treats and yesterday on a particularly hot day, he also got my dog a large bottle of water. Even though I'm simply a member of the neighborhood and not a guest of the hotel, the kind of luxury service and professionalism extended by Antoine speaks volumes as to the hotel property.
Location is not very central, view wasn't that great, bathroom was small and strange, and it was pretty noisy (plus plumbing noise) even on high floors. Bed was super comfortable, staff is very nice, and room looks cool.
Everything went well, food service and drink went well. Ambiance was fantastic, only rated 4 stars because some of our friends did not get in supposedly after a big group of us got in the place became "invite only." Watever that means....
I had a booking cancelled at the beginning of April 2020 due to COVID. Despite being a regular customer and numerous confirmations from the hotel that I would be entitled to a refund. I am still waiting to be refunded and am now receiving zero response from the hotel. It is now July! Worth noting i had to wait over an hour to get through to someone regarding my issue initially at a significant phone call cost!
Amazing hotel and I was looking forward to my stay. Great room, great layout. Fantastic view. Great vibe. Friendly staff. Cut to getting woken at 8am by drilling on the outside of the building. Sounded like a huge nat was stuck in all the walls. I called reception. They said it was exterior maintenance, city ordered and they have no notice. I find that hard to believe there was no notice. I might try it again, but if they don't know when the city is going to drill the building, I won't make that gamble.
We were here for my husband's birthday on Easter weekend and enjoyed every minute of our stay! Not that we are not from nyc, but we never stayed in this hotel! Truly love the staff here... No I really do. Great personalities! Very, very helpful. Fast room service which is a plus, was able to ride the nyc bikes that are located around the corner which btw was super fun. Road down to the freedom tower until it started raining and got wet which still was fun. Shops and restaurants near by, I mean really totally enjoyed my stay! Hope to stay here more often! Great for photos!
Could not get a better view of the city at night. Had no issue getting in on a Saturday night and bartender was super friendly. Music is sub-par on the dance floor but the vibe is cool and the rooftop is worth it for this view at night!!
Rooms were very clean, spacious. View was beautiful. The only initial issue I had was that I was staying with parents and the bath tub was completely visible from the room without any curtain. But, the staff was very helpful and they provided a very quick service by putting the curtain. Overall it was a really good experience
A bit dated. Half the staff was friendly, the other had an attitude as if they were doing me a favor by letting me stay there. Good flexible check in and check out times. Rooftop restaurant has nice jazz music.
Great place to bring a date, especially when there is a live band. The decor is phenomenal and the view is spectacular! You feel like you have stepped into a James Bond movie upon entering the rooftop bar. Haven't stayed at the hotel, but the rooftop bar is a truly remarkable place to enjoy some live music.
Rooms are nicely appointed, albeit a bit small. Rooms have floor to ceiling windows that highlight the views. Hotel is in a great location at the beginning of the high line. Showers have glass wall (without curtains) separating it from bedroom, which could lead to awkward moments. Staff is accommodating and friendly. Skip eating at the (sub)Standard Grill. Service was great, but food was not worth the price. Lol
Only stay here if you can sleep through thumping base. I moved rooms after the first night and the nightclub sound was still clearly audible. Disappointing.
Fun and swanky hotel with a cool bier garden attached next door. Go for the higher floors to get a decent view that includes the empire state building.
Great location in the Meatpacking District. Very hip, and if you are into the scene then this is the hotel to be in. A piece of advice: if you want a quiet room, do not ask for higher floor count as I unwittingly did one time. There's a nightclub on the rooftop, and I got four-on-the-floor all night. Otherwise it's a decent hotel with modern rooms. The elevators are lame. They're slow and get super congested during rush hours.
Rooms are beautiful, quiet and will appointed. Great food and drinks right under your feet while you are at this hotel. If you are going to share a room with a friend prepare to get a little intimate. The showers in some rooms have a clear glass window into the room. Nice little display. The hotel does offer a curtain but also know it is open in the other side into the bathroom cutout. Toilet at least had a door for privacy. The tub is huge and the shower is great so not too bad. Easy to get to by subway with a little walking and plenty of taxis. You wouldn't regret starting here.
If you are a black female, they don't want you here. They will accuse you of prostitution for simply drinking at the bar, and have security kick you out. Extremely racist staff.
Amazing view, great cocktails - a little on the expensive side. I'd advise eating lightly before coming here as the menu is limited (kind of bar style) although the food is quite tasty. The atmosphere is quite nice with live band playing jazz, giving off the NYC vibe. Also, I'd possibly stay here next time!
My boyfriend and I stayed at the standard high line memorial day weekend. It was great! We loved the location of the hotel. The room is small but after all it is New York. It is very modern and super clean. The hotels bars and restaurants were awesome! We definitely would stay at this hotel again.
