a pleasant place to relax, very nice large room, good service, a title bit noise with the party people, but you have access to the rooftop and to all the installations. A great hotel to enjoy the sunset

It will be limited room of the river view, but I think that few hotels can enjoy such a superb view in New York. I think it is a recommended hotel for travelers who want to spend time surrounded by sensitive travelers in the High Line area, which can be said to be the cutting edge of the trend.

The high line was an absolutely beautiful experience! I was fortunate enough to arrive at the high line during the days sunset. The walk was about 2 miles and provided breathtaking views of the city. I would most definitely recommend taking a trip to the high line! I know for a fact that I will be visiting again sometime soon.

I had a bad experience at this hotel with rude reception and bar employees. They make you feel as of they are doing you a favor. However, the hotel is situated in a good location. Rooms are ok, very small.

Amazing location. Small room, incredible view of the Hudson, too bad the windows were 1/8 washed, they were filthy. The squeegee marks on the floor to ceiling windows were very apparent, it was like the dirt from windows above had been squeegeed down, there were streaks and clumps of dirt. Shower didn t drain. Toilet handle was broken, maintenance came to fix right away, I left them to meet a friend, came back, the toilet seat was up. It s dark. The bath and shower are high gloss black tile without adequate lighting plus the tile is slippery. No place to hang wet towels or anything else for that matter. Bed was comfy. I thought I had upgraded my room. If this was an upgrade, yikes. Trendy cool not luxury.

Good location, nice rooms, although small, if you have the money for them. Enjoy the roof while you are there. If they let you in, Le Bain is one of the best places in the city to be outside, very high up, drinking a cocktail more expensive than it should be,

Expensive for what it is. Service overall is very poor: some personnel helpful but other half useless bordering on rude. Their bars and restaurants could become a pain due to crowdedness and noise.

Sam made booking fun and exceeded all of our expectations. I wish that all hotels in NYC have her kind of customer service. I m going to recommend the standard to all friends and family coming to NYC.

No matter if you're at Le Bain or The Boom Boom room, you're gonna have a blast. The DJs are always spinning the hottest joints and the people are pretty attractive, lol. If you want to eat at the Boom Boom do it early as the kitchen closes early. Last time I was there, Swizz Beatz jumped on the 1's and 2's!

Went to dinner with a few co-workers at the Grill downstairs - everything was great. We tried some oysters, the bone marrow and the octopus for apps. The seafood was fresh and the octopus was excellently grilled. If bone marrow is your thing, definitely worth trying it here. I had the salmon for dinner - it was very well cooked and had a very nice charred textures. Just wish they gave me more.
Their beer list is on the short side, but they have ample cocktails and decent wine list to make up for it. Try their cider, its very good.
The ambiance is very nice - clean and upscale. They really dim the lights a bit too much in the evening, just a heads up. It's a little noisy but not to the point where you can hear the people at your table. Overall, I'd definitely come back. PS. The beer garden next door is worth checking out too.

Nice views, good crowd but I wasn t happy with the Old fashioned I ordered. The bartender simply put some syrup, some ice and some rye in it. Also, they allow smoking in the area which is kind of sad because non-smokers are stuck in a cramped space inhaling all the smoke.

This is a beautiful hotel. I love the location and the ambiance. It is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. It's trendy without the attitude.

The rooms are beautifully appointed and has a smart use of space. The showers don't have a door and consist of two clear glass panes so you are visible to all those in your room when showering. Thankfully the toilet is a bit more private.

The views are great as is the breakfast brunch. We had the pancakes, eggs benedict, eggs poached in Olive Oil and turkey sausage. All were delicious.

The first time I stayed at the Standard (five years back) I had an amazing time, and had since been recommending it to everyone who'd listen. My most recent visit was really sub-par - so I'm averaging out to a 3 (and stopping the recommendations).

What's still good - great location if you're working in the area. Rooms a reasonable size by NYC standards. Free (slow) WiFi. Rainfall showerhead. Good nose insulation from the corridor. Some of the rooms have amazing views.

What's changed - housekeeping are good, but the general maintenance on the rooms is bad. They're aging poorly and starting to look a bit shabby. The fan in our A/C had a loose bearing or something and sounded like a car that wouldn't start. Reception sent someone up to fix it after the first night but then it just started again midway through the next night and we gave up. It's a shame because the lower floor rooms are otherwise pretty quiet.

We were also in a tiny low room with no real view, no bath, a closet sized shower etc. My colleague, who booked the same room type and paid the same rate, was staying at the same time - got a high room on the river side with a full bath. When I asked front desk about a change (this is after the air conditioner issue) they said they had rooms free but would need to charge me hundreds of dollars per night. Which would be fine if I didn't have evidence other people on the same rate got upgraded just because they were checked in with different desk staff. Especially rough since we were staying seven nights.

All in all - this hotel has always been style over practicality. That's fine when everything has been executed meticulously, but when things start to age and break it just becomes unpleasant. I don't think I'll stay here again.

Good place. Clean. Expensive. The open shower was a cool concept and very sexy but also very cold and unsexy. Loved the atmosphere and the space elevator that feels like you're on acid.

Great location and fun hotel. The floor to ceiling windows create a spacious environment with wonderful views of the NYC skyline. If you're looking for a unique, clean, and comfortable experience I recommend the Highline! The staff was friendly and helpful. I ended up forgetting an item in my room after checkout and the staff immediately identified it and had it shipped to me!

When the High Line was put up The Standard became famous for their floor to ceiling windows. It became a show as you can see the hotel guests. Nonetheless, this is a swanky boutique hotel.
