Amazing service and amenities. Rooftop bars and fitness center have amazing views of the Hudson and downtown.
Amazing service and amenities. Rooftop bars and fitness center have amazing views of the Hudson and downtown.
You must walk the high line in your visit to NYC, it is a park built on old subway tracks at the top of the city. The view is incredible
Great design. Great views. Good rooms, fair service, and good amenities. Good restaurants nearby.
Girlfriend describes it as "achingly hip". The montage in the lifts is weird; the view from our room of uptown Manhattan was stunning, though. Service in the hotel resteraunt was shocking, which is a shame because the food wasn't bad at all. Be warned that King rooms have bathrooms with a glass separator, so it's not wonderful for privacy!
Quiet rooms if you request away from the club, and comfortable beds. Love the soaking tub too!
Went there for a conference. The place is nice and very inviting. Didn't even know that the place existed especially in NYC. I would visit the area again with some friends just to hangout.
A lot of fun. Drinks are reasonably priced considering they are so big. Rooftop offers great views of the city
Drinks were very well made and delicious. Prices felt reasonable. Atmosphere was fun and entertaining. Sunday night boozy bingo is a must!
Great service. The waitstafd is extremely friendly, the food is great and the drinks are strong. Intimate atmosphere and perfect for lunch and dinner or drinks.
Room was generally clean. A nice boardwalk outside.
Sleek hotel in the Meat Packing district. Incredible views of lower Manhattan and the Hudson. Would definitely go back.
The rooftop top features good views of the skyline, but is otherwise mediocre.
I find it very odd that their beer selection is very limited. The food menu is just sausage. On top of it, no table service. All this contradicts what a beer garden ought to be.
Nice place, but ordered a cheese pizza from room service and I don't think they realized I actually wanted food...
Bathtub rooms are perfect for soaking while looking at the river view
Les Bain nightclub on the top floor - is incredible!
Must see the city this way. Quiet, green space with easy access to tons of places
Got incidental charges on my credit card later. Took 10 minutes on phone to get the copy of the receipt (why did they not send it to me automatically since they have my email address?). Took another 15 minutes to dispute it. The hotel does not have an email address. 14 out of 15 minutes were wasted waiting on hold on the line.
Also, they CHARGED me $2 donation for maintenance of high line. No biggies but I hate when people charge others for donation without explicit permission. That's theft. The credit card was for incidental charges, not for random donations.
Bed was ok. Wifi was slow. View was good but as a business traveler, I did not care much.
Very nice hotel on the high line. Amazing view from the gym on floor 17 on both the Hudson and on Manhattan
One side of hotel has staggering views on Manhattan. The full size glass windows had to the experience of falling asleep looking at NY city
Friendly and attentive service, with an extraordinary rooftop bar. Not only recommended for tourist looking for a beautiful sight but also for any local who wants a new look on home.
Great drinks, spectacular views, fantastic dance floor. Music was a little strange, though obviously that's subjective, but a tad too much cow bell for my taste this particular night. The views are likely some of the best available in the city. The couches and seats are perfect for when you're all danced out. Note: The maximum capacity of the whirl pool is 19 people.
Went for an event on the 3rd floor. Great views, the food was solid, very nice staff.
Limited seating on a nice day, but nice and good location
This is a top notch hotel at a wonderful location above the high line. I simply stated upon reserving my room that our stay was for a special birthday celebration for my wife. Upon arrival, they wished my wife a happy birthday, they upgraded our room, and immediately sent up a bottle of champagne which we enjoyed looking over the expansive views of the Hudson River and Lower Manhattan. The room was as clean as you could ask, it was spacious, and had a wonderful walk in shower with a huge tub. My wife had been kind of down in the dumps but the staff at the Standard made her forget everything for the duration of our little getaway. Thank you to the staff of the Standard!!!!
Not reviewing the hotel - but rather the lounge on the top. Fantastic views, and well made drinks, but bring your wallet.
Loved it. Man put his penis in my bath. Then my pasta. FIVE STARS
Clean. Elegant. Fun. Go to the pub next door on the patio.
Never give your card to their terrace "SUNSET" they ask for it to pay for gu cocktail and they have cloned it to us, passing a new charge 4 days later!
SCAMMERS!
Beyond satisfied. The rooms, the services, the staff. A place that is truly worthy of all praises. I was unable to find anything bad in this place. A true five star experience. Thanks for the great memories.
I've been two months in NYC and this has been the best rooftop bar I've ever been. Don't know about the hotel or the food. Not cheap but worth it.
Location is gorgeous, view is amazing, customer service is great
The room is very beautiful.
My second time there and I m looking fwd to many after this.
Highly recommended
Very stylish, good location, great view, some of the best nightlife.
The view at Le Bain rooftop was breathtaking! The crepe spot up there is great too.
The food was ok, though a bit bland. The vegetables are undercooked in my opinion, which may have contributed to the less than exciting flavors. The prices are absurd for the mediocre food. Remember to look at the dimly lit floor of the bathrooms or risk going into the wrong side, if that's something that concerns you.
Enjoyed the rooftop bar and lower level beer garden. Both great
Came for a birthday staycation. Got a suite here which felt the same size as a regular room in the Standard LA and a lot older/rundown. The food is fine, but extremely basic and ridiculously priced. It was between here and the Ritz, chose the Standard thinking it would be more fun and trendy and cheaper, but would have spent the same at the Ritz. It's fine, but come to the Standard for the nightlife and probably stay somewhere else if you're visiting NY
Boy, did I stay at the same hotel as all these 5-star reviewers? Nothing horrible happened, it is just not a great experience. I can tell you this: what is important to this hotel is hiring interesting looking people.if that is important, go for it. I did not drink at this hotel. Reception told me the top floor bar becomes a private member's club after 9 or 10. What does that even mean? Like a speakeasy? It is also super hard just to get a coffee and a muffin. I guess a coffee kiosk is just too pedestrian. With so many thousands of options I will skip this place.
Great location, nice view, pretty clean and quiet place. Super comfortable
Excellent breakfast albeit a bit pricey. Opens at 7 am which is a plus. The tomato avocado sandwich was really good as well as the soft scrambled eggs. With dishes approaching $20 and smoothies at $10, it ends up being an expensive breakfast. Dinner food also excellent, but main dining room has terrible acoustics and can be quite loud.
Sunday bingo night at the standard was great. However, stay away from the ziti!
Lunch at the Standard Grill was very good - good food choices, nice atmosphere.
Visited late on a tuesday and the place was still packed. There's lots of different bar areas.
Horrible experience. I do not recommend this place at all . Cake topper waiting for car for over an hour.
Beautiful hotel in Chelsea. Right above the Highline and just south of 14th Street.
A bit on the pricy side but it's new York so it's to be expected. Food was good, drinks were good, and waiters were friendly and attentive. Would come again.
Nice decor, views etc but dumb rules when it comes to getting access to the rooftop. I stayed on the highest hotel floor (17) for a week in order to have access to go out every night, but didn t turn out this way. You are not allowed to go up ONE floor by elevator or even the stairs because even as hotel guests they make you go all the way downstairs and walk around the corner. Ended up going out at other bars/lounges
Great crowd, great atmosphere, fun parties, good drinks, beautiful people
Nice room with nice amenties. The shower/bathroom without the door was a little unusual but fine regardless.
The green flow of New York ... With artistic hooks (sculptures, painted walls and scenic views). The bucolic ballade. Get down to a pot or eat a bite in trendy cafes and restaurants ...
One of the best hotels in the city. Great design and service.
I went to Le Bain for some drinks at night. I have never been and it was a great time. The hot tub in the bar was quite surprising! We didn't know at first but we later found the stairs to go to the rooftop. It was very nice and peaceful up there. Great views.
My husband and I weren t particularly impressed with our 4 night stay at The Standard. The views and the surrounding area were great, but I wouldn t recommend this place. There s a night club on the top floor and our room was on one of the higher floors. The bass from the music kept us awake two nights in a row until the club closed at 4 am. It s a really busy area and during the weekend we often had to wait 3+ turns just to get on the elevator to get up to our room. The front desk staff weren t very friendly and we found they had added charges to our bill when we checked out. They said it was authorized by us when we checked in, but was pretty sneaky to me. Overall, it just doesn t seem worth the money to stay here.
As hip as they come. Great location directly on the Highline and moments from Chelsea Market. Book directly on their website for a substantial discount over their published prices.
Great location, pretty quiet at night in the mid floors, good bars and restaurants.
One of the coolest buildings along the high line with starchitect quality, great hotel with many venues inside and in the connected space. Definitely a hoppin' area for night life, several great bars and restaurants. The roof bar is amazing and good drinks, come on a night with live music!
It was a little difficult to find the elevator to the rooftop bar, but it was worth it.
Fun, beautifull, great weather, its important to have great company
We have been there before this year, however, today a friend of mine, my wife and I were turned away at the door to access the top floor. The doorman, a tall Asian male with long black hair, asked me what party we were with. Assuming the facility was open to the punlic on sundays we weren't with a party and we were turned away. I called the front desk and Preston stated it was open to the public no need for being on a list. Won't be back.
I came to live in a big bed room in June 2015. It is a corner room, large, clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. I really like the free breakfast here because there are many options. The front desk staff was very friendly and answered all my questions. The location is excellent, only a few minutes from the underground station and surrounded by delicious Asian restaurants. Only a little bad, there is no parking place nearby.
Stayed in a Deluxe King room.
Positives:
-Great views from the room, with an excellent shower, very large tub and well stocked mini bar
-Room service food was superb
-Great Location
Negatives:
Overall feels very overpriced for what you get:
- Generally the hotel is quite tired inside and lacks any wow factor
- Staff isn t particularly friendly or welcoming
- Room lacks some of the most basic amenities I.e. coffee and has next to zero storage space
- Hotel heavily advertises the rooftop bar/club Le Bain, but personally we were never able to go as the door staff would rudely reject our entry for no given reason
Had a great time in NYC, but have stayed in better Manhattan hotels for less money. Would not stay at The Standard again.
The classiest, most beautiful and well-designed hotel I've ever attended. From the Biergarden to the terrace and gorgeous conference rooms, it is my favorite place in NYC to attend an event.
Love this hotel. Best location in the city, with cool bars at the rooftop.
