Standard looking place but they really surprised us with how GOOD the cocktails are, we had the Mooberry Bluffin (which was exceptional) and the Appletini which was also really good. Cool place and ace staff.

Unique free evening of the week during a trip with the school, at Boozy Cow only me and two of my friends: fantastic food, particular atmosphere with gothicpunk atmosphere and fast and welcoming service. Cost right, come out all very satisfied, satisfied with three cheeseburgers, chips and a shared brownie, with lots of candy arrived with the bill.
It was the right choice, no regrets!

Really cool place with many options to eat and drink. Placed in a central location, very helpful and friendly staff. I particularly liked the decorations of the place. Visit to grab a bite (delicious burgers) or a drink. Cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Well done and keep it up.

Very good food; some of the best burgers you'll find in Edinburgh and excellent skinny fries but....
Horrible, sticky tables; uncomfortable stools; slightly condescending, cooler-than-thou staff and, worst of all, our meal for two was served on a single, deliberately old and battered looking tin tray.
No plates, no cutlery.
The tray was only large enough for one of us to have it close enough to eat from at a time before sliding it over to let the other take a bite. Who's idea was this? We decided to confirm our tedious, suburban values by daring to ask for a couple of plates and, possibly, an odd piece of cutlery? Our waitress explained, in a tone that suggested that we should really think about changing our minds, that their policy is "eat messy" and that they only give customers plates and cutlery if they specifically ask.
"We are specifically asking."
She returned with two blue-rimmed, white tin plates of the type produced as utility goods in times of war or serious economic hardship. And some kitchen roll.
Is this really what people go for or am old fashioned for preferring to eat using as a bear minimum, a plate and some cutlery? I think has been generally agreed to be normal since the bronze age but I could be wrong.

It s a cool place with really helpful staff but I think it is overpriced. We tried the milkshakes, fries and two burgers and can say the fries were really tasty. The milkshake and burger were ok but not super delicious. You spend here twice the money you would spend in another burger restaurant.

A friend brought us to this place and maybe we were unlucky, but the food we ordered was cold. The hamburger buns tasted like they'd been down for a week, hence such a low rating. The hamburger was so dry that it flew with every lift. It's good that the service was nice and they can make good drinks. But you have a plus :) The climate is also original. The bottle with the skull made us laugh.

Overall, this is probably a 7.5/10. I enjoyed the frosted beers and the interior of the restaurant is quite cool. We experienced good service too. The location is very good.

The burgers are good but there are many other restaurants that offer tastier burgers for a similar price. The big let down with the burgers is that the buns are just so supermarket standard. A decent bun with quality bread makes such a difference.

Also, the default here is well done; which is a bit strange as medium rare is the default for better burger joints. The red slaw was a bit flavour-less too and the sweet potato fries were just OK.

With a few positive changes, this could be an 8/10.

Typical pub with music where you can have some beers and eat. The burgers and the fajitas are good and the waiters friendly and attentive. The decoration of the place is striking, ultimately a recommended site.

Remarking our brief visit to the boozy cow, I would firstly like to say that it was and to quote, the worst bar I have ever been in a point reiterated by a fellow punter outside of the bar, waiting to be served.
After being drawn in by quirky and edgy looking exterior we perhaps expected at least a friendly and vibrant atmosphere, only to be greeted by unfriendly and frankly rude staff who seemed more focused on pushing away those who were here for a drink and a good time in favour of those who d booked tables; in promise of a higher spend inside the bar. As soon as we finished our two weak pints of lager we were promptly and rudely ushered out of the bar to quote we need your table now , no suggestion of moving seating, let alone a hint of basic manners. Won t be visiting this dingy spot again. The graffiti inside acts as a draw and is essentially their attempt at having an atmosphere, equivalent to fake crowd noise at football games; loud but devoid of any character an actual vibe.
Despite these trying times we face, there was what seemed, a very lapsed attempt at gaining custom in usual and given manners in the hospitality trade- hospitality being a word which could possibly revised by all members of staff (maybe at the next team building?). Having been pressured to exit the premises toot sweet, it s safe to say we weren t heartbroken to have not even finished the two pints of piss water served.Ps. We don t give 1 Star ratings lightly.

Quite an original place that may be not to everyone's taste.
I appreciate they have vegetarian options (2) burgers. Mine looked home made what is also a bonus yet it was quite dry and I wouldn't order again. The meaty one was good ( so I've been told).
I don't think I'll come back but try it for yourself.

Wide variety of cocktails. However, it was very apparent that they were understaffed. Tables were disgustingly sticky and not cleared from previous customers. Additionally, we had to wait at the bar ~10 minutes for drinks as there was only one bartender present who was trying his best to serve a multitude of people. This place would be a lot better if they looked after their staff and hired the amount of people needed for the amount of customers coming through.

- sticky tables, but a wonderful ambience. Just as one imagines a "Scottish" pub.
- cozy rock music in the background, perfect volume to entertain.
- The cheeseburger was very good but the hammer was the skinny fries. Pleasant sharpness, just right for eating.
- super friendly staff.
- have felt very, very well.

This is without a doubt the best restaurant experience I have ever had in Edinburgh, and that's also taking in the fact that we had to wait 10 minutes before we were served, and were eating in the evening where the restaurant proceeds to turn into a nightclub.

My girlfriend and I found the menu to this restaurant online and decided to eat there.

Despite us not being served for 10 minutes, they apologised profusely for the inconvenience and offered to take us to a nicer quieter setting to eat and were very lovely.

The food is on another level, we ordered the holy cow burger and also treated ourselves to a Nutella doughnut milkshake. We couldn't get over how good the food and the drink were.

The decor and atmosphere were really great as well, but the restaurant wouldn't have left a good impression on us if it weren't for the friendly waitresses as well; it might have been that we were the only customers actually ordering food at that point of the day but the waitresses serving us made us feel welcome and well looked after.

The Boozy Cow is undoubtedly the greatest restaurant experience I have had in Edinburgh thanks to the food, the drink and the customer experience.

I would recommend all of our friends to eat there.

A cool place to grab a bite and a drink. The Philly steak was really tasty although the bread was a bit over toasted for my liking. The cheese burger is nice but the patty is a little dry. Not a big fan of the fajita.
