This historic hotel is beautiful from the curb through the lobby. As for the rooms, they are clean and are adequate for an older hotel. Don't expect luxurious space, but the amenities are suitable.

This hotel is fabulous it has the old charm and the staff is absolutely amazing. The room we had our class reunion in was absolutely beautiful. Definitely will be returning and bringing my daughter. The location is perfect and in walking distance to restaurants and Fourth Street Live!

Grand lobby, wonderful staff, particularly Derrick. The rooms were a bit disappointing. Large, but budget type furnishings and a small bathroom. A refurbishment is needed top to bottom. Location is good very near a broad array of restaurants a block away. Both weekend nights 4th Street was closed to vehicular traffic .

I was fortunate enough to have dined in the Oak Room. The food was good and it was quite the extravagance. It was all a bit too pretentious for me, but that's how it's supposed to be isn't it.

We loved our experience at the hotel. Staff was amazing and the food was great. Thank you to Jennifer from the Seelbach Bar for going above and beyond with our stay at the hotel. My husband and I will be back.

A beautiful historical business office building converted into a hotel. The rooms were compact for a one king bed however I love the remaining features of what was once the business office that you could see around the building. The rooms were very quiet and very cozy.

Historic hotel in downtown Louisville. Unfortunately, this means smallish rooms with tiny bathrooms and little storage. Also, we weren't told that they weren't offering the complimentary breakfast and wine/snack hour on the club level during our stay, and we paid extra for that. Upon check-out we were told that we should have been given vouchers to use in their restaurant. Overall, service didn't meet our expectations.

I am a resident of Louisville and I have never stayed at the Seelbach (not sure I can afford to on a teacher s salary), so my rating is based on an experience I had with the staff at an event outside the hotel.
On Christmas Day, I volunteered to help feed homeless / displaced people at Wayside. We are talking hundreds of people who were served Christmas breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Imagine my surprise, when I saw a kitchen crew dressed in Seelbach uniforms. They worked their butts off and you could tell they took what they were doing seriously. They took charge and served as if they were catering to high society. They were the nicest individuals you could ever meet, and although it was Christmas Day, and they were working like crazy, they were proud to be there and represented the Seelbach well. If they display this type of passion and friendliness outside the Seelbach, I can only imagine how great the experience would be to stay there. Kudos Seelbach for your community involvement and compassion.

Pro's

Pro's
Nice lobby and ok bar (only two options for draft beer though)

Con's
USD10 per device per day for wifi. Hilton, are you serious? Even hostels give you free wifi and they're a tenth of the cost.
Reception staff were largely clueless and the ones on the late shift can be pretty uninterested.

The Seelbach is an amazing historic hotel in downtown Louisville. The hotel has easy access to 4th Street Live, a location for entertainment and food. The hotel itself is clean and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Do not miss the hidden speakeasy in the basement - it's like being transported back in time.

I stayed here for two nights. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. The history is astounding and worth spending time becoming familiar with. The only issue I really had was with the airport shuttle. I was left waiting at the airport for an hour upon arrival However I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I travel about 120 days a year and the worst possible thing that generally happens happened here...I was on a 12 night stay at this property and everything was good until I hit a Saturday night and the hotel was more full....and the wifi became nonexistent. Looks like hotel doesnt want to pay for enough bandwidth for all guests to be able to use wifi....so now I cant use my streaming or gaming apps. GrEAT way to spend my Saturday night watching cable tv with a bunch of commercials. I dont even do this at home. As a legitimate traveler this Saturday night wifi problem is what separates a normal hotel from a tedious stay.

Especially friendly staff. Parking is inconvenient if you don't valet, but that's expected in a bigger city. Located across the street from Fourth Street Live. A lot of fun and plenty of places to eat. Would definitely stay again.

Great service here and very nice rooms and other facilities. The building is very cool and a great place to stay if you enjoy older elaborate architecture. It's right in downtown too so there's very easy access to restaurants and other events.

Great historic hotel in good location. Staff was very friendly. No pool meant few kids even when town was swarming with kids for youth tournament, I was traveling without kids so this was an upside for us. There are other hotels in area but I would definitely stay here again.

Awesome, historic hotel. Beautifully decorated lobby. Home to the Old Seelbach bar, on of the top 50 bars worldwide. Be sure to see the ornate Rathskeller room in the basement, decked out in rare Rookwood pottery.

Stayed here a few times for work. Location is perfect. Rooms are a little small and outdated but the history to the hotel is pretty cool. The bar downstairs is really neat. Great selection of bourbon. It can get a little noisy on the weekends so close to 4th Street but overall a good place to stay.

Stopped in the adjoining Starbucks for a drink with old friends. Very comfortable atmosphere, great people watching. Traffic sucked but what do you expect when there's construction in downtown? Attentive staff, very efficient!

The hotel is nice if a little dated. What killed the experience however was the service. Tried to order room service after a long day out. Got a busy signal. Tried the front desk and the operator. Both gave a busy signal (guess it was my hotel phone)? Called the hotel from my cell phone and the call went through without a hitch but can't order from a cell so giving up, made my way downstairs and put in an order at the front desk. When I asked why it was so difficult to put in an order the woman manning the front desk flippantly said that they were busy with no apology. Might have just been a bad night but not hard to apologize even if you won't try to make the situation any better.

Great hotel, in the heart of the city. Had the pleasure of touring the hotel. They have nice art on the walls and pleasant staff. Its definitely an older hotel but the historic value cannot be ignored. Shout out to Taylor Buckner for the five star check in. Thank you. Looking forward to staying with you again.

The room we requested was correct but based on pictures we felt like we were getting more and that was not the case when we arrived. We also were on the executive floor (which we paid for) which included complimentary breakfast in the morning. The breakfast was very disappointing and when we arrived we were forced to go to the front desk and get a special card to prove we were from the floor (which wasn't given to us at check in). Even though both are Hilton's Embassy's have way better options (breakfast) and includes free drinks during a happy hour. I'm not sure why their higher rated brands do not follow suit.

There's some history and a beautiful lobby. The staff was kind. There is some agree here and there but considering the location and age it's a place that I would return to. Not aware of local rates but was definitely not inexpensive. If you like historic then this may be your place but if you like all new then this isn't.

Lovely, historic hotel. Staff were very helpful. The room was on the smaller side and a bit past its prime, but more or less what I expected for this sort of property. Elite lounge breakfast and happy hours were very nice.

The Seelbach was a great stay, with amazing staff. The room was a little dated looking, but it adds to the history. What it lacked in new designs, it made up with a comfortable bed and sheets. The staff was very responsive and genuinely wanted to make me happy.

Parking garage was confusing to get to and was a complicated system to get in and out. The front lobby smelled of a sewer and there were pet dogs everywhere. Room was so so, the bathroom door wasnt fitted right and would have to be pushed pretty hard to shut and when you opened it it made a awful screech. The bed wasnt for my like woke up with terrible back pain.

Beautiful historic hotel in a great location in central downtown Louisville. The rooms are nice and nicely renovated, but not extravagant, and the bathrooms are small. I stayed in a King Deluxe, which was worth the extra few dollars for much more floor space. But it lacks amenities such as a refrigerator or microwave. The breakfast buffet voucher is definitely worth it: $5 a person if you buy with the reservation, $21 for walk-in! A nice variety of food. The historic aspect is nice, but from a practical standpoint, the stay wasn't exceptional. I would probably try another hotel out of curiosity if I visit Louisville again.

There's a nice old timey feel to the hotel and the rooms are designed differently than the way you would find modern day hotel rooms to be designed which is really cool. There's an elaborate grand stair case in the main lobby which was interesting to walk past while entering the hotel. Not sure if there are any accessible hotel rooms which could be an issue because the bathroom in the room I was staying in had a decent step up which often led to tripping into the bathroom when entering it or falling out of the bathroom when exiting it if not careful. I had some noisy neighbors early in the morning hours, however I called down to the front desk to file a noise complaint and they immediately sent someone up to take care of the problem.

The service at the hotel was fantastic with the bellmen, wait staff, and front desk all being extremely courteous, friendly, and helpful. The standard room was spacious with a few chairs, desk, tv, clock radio, dresser, and bed. The bed was comfortable, the chairs less so. The lobby, mezzanine, basement, and facade of the hotel were amazing. I enjoyed just sitting in that ambiance. The breakfast was alright, but kind of pricey at about $20.

I stayed at the Seelbach for a wedding event. The staff was helpful and valet/check in were easy. The room was not very good. The curtains were falling off the wall, there wasn't much space, and the shower didn't drain very well. Location however was awesome. Just a stones throw from 4th Street Live and other Louisville attractions. We went to the Slugger Museum.

We had a great stay at the Seelbach after a concert at the KFC Yum Center. The hotel is gorgeous, clean, and super convenient to a lot of the major tourist attractions downtown. The staff was polite and helpful and the room comfortable. Loved the connected Starbucks, too. My only complaint is that the bed was pretty uncomfy and could have used a mattress update. Breakfast is included in certain packages, and there s a fantastic bar in the hotel as well. Valet is $30 a night. No additional hotel or other surprise fees.
