The hotel itself was very nice. In terms of service it was one of the worst places I have ever stayed. When I asked to get my car from valet when I checked out it took over 45 minutes. They even lost one of my friends car keys when he tried to leave. If you are looking for a nice hotel with the good service you expect for the price this is not the place for you.

We were very impressed with the variety of foods offered. My friend got a bacon cheeseburger with home made chips. I got a southwest chicken wrap. Both were excellent. The only reason we didn't give it a 5 star was the food took a while to come out. The bill was much lower than expected. We highly recommend this place

Enjoyed Selbach one desk was a jerk but everyone else was very accommodating to our needs. The hotel is in need of some restoration and the AC needs to be updated. I understand that its an old hotel but when its hotter when you get back to your room than when you left it thats a problem. We ended up moving rooms and asking for a fan. The 7th floor lounge was great.

What a great place to stop in and check out! The history is mind blowing! Also the staff does a great job handling the new covid guidelines while executing great customer service all at the same time! Definitely worth the time to stop in for a bourbon!

What a amazing hotel. So much history. Hotel where Al Capone played cards & had the underground escape. The original beauty of the hotel was amazing. The hotel takes your breath away. Patrick the security in charge gave me a tour of all the hotel and all the historic places.. He is the best historian. He is sweet and has so many stories to tell. He took his time and everytime I saw him he remembered me with the biggest sweet smile. The whole staff was so kind and made me feel at home. Ray and ALL the valet staff were so welcoming as well as the front desk. The staff at the concierge floor had very yummy breakfast and snacks at night. Over all the hotel & staff was the best stay I have had in any hotel ever! I do not give it more stars because there's not a 10 and above!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. But typically they recognize Honors members and greet them accordingly. This hotel did not. Due to my status, I was offered complimentary breakfast., but it was sorely lacking compared to other Hilton locations I have stayed at. The hotel was very nice, but a super confusing layout. As close to 4th Street Live as you can get.

Our room was awful, we requested 2 beds and there weren't any available so we requested a roll away bed that wasn't provided, we didn't get our requested late checkout and the room gave horrible vibes, as soon as we turned on the tv, it was about how haunted the hotel was from a lady dying in the elevator so we went across the street to a different hotel, which was much better

The employees at this hotel moved clothing and shoes of the groomsmen from one room to another and shoes were stolen, as well as $720 dollars out of a vehicle that was valet parking, as well as a jacket. No one seemed to want to do anything to resolve the issue and make it right for the customers. I would not recommend this hotel if you want all of your items safe.

We are Hilton gold members and this by far is the worst experience we have had.

Wonderful stay at the Seelbach. We stayed on one of the lower floors so the bathroom in our room was small and a little awkward, but the bed was comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the waitstaff at Gatsby's. Hotel is conveniently located to downtown attractions. If you stay there, take the guided tour with Patrick! Neat hotel with some great history and a focus in excellent service.

Absolutely love this hotel!
So much history and so beautiful.
Amazing hospitality just as I imagine guests were treated in the roaring 20's and still providing in the roaring 2020's

I wish I could give zero stars. This is the worst ...

I wish I could give zero stars. This is the worst hotel experience we ve EVER had. They booked us in a room that was underneath some construction. They started the construction at 6 am and didn t stop until after noon. Not only could we not sleep, but it was so incredibly loud, it was hurting our ears and may have caused hearing damage.

We called the front desk several times and they were completely unapologetic and refused to do anything. The whole purpose of a hotel is to serve as a place for guests to sleep. How do they justify this situation? This hotel and the company that owns it should be ashamed of themselves.

Update: The manager of the hotel responded and said there s no way the construction could have started until after 10 am, essentially calling me a liar as politely as possible. Well, one of several videos I recorded of the drilling and hammering noises is time-stamped 6:55 am. I would be happy to send it to the manager as proof, though I m not sure the time stamp will send with the video. Plus, the manager failed to give me any contact information, and the hotel website offers no way of contacting them other than via phone or live chat. But you can clearly see in the video that it is extremely dark in the room (the curtains wouldn t close all the way no matter what I did, and the employees of the hotel must know this), so it s obviously around dawn that the video was taken. If it had been 10 am, there would be much more
light in the room. I ve attached a screenshot of the video to demonstrate what I mean. It looks pitch black until you turn up the brightness on your screen, and then you can barely see the ceiling and fire detector.

If it wasn t construction going on in the room above us, then am I to assume a fellow guest was drilling and hammering into the floor? Even if I hallucinated the entire incident and the construction didn t start until 10 am, the noise was incredibly loud and disruptive enough to have bothered guests, whether they were awake OR asleep.

The hotel offers a free shuttle from the airport. Waiting 53 minutes for it to arrive when I had already called ahead was very dissapointing. Then, to get into a filthy shuttle was not what I was expecting from the Hitlon. Room is clean at least. The very small room is as updated as it's going to get for how old the building is. Definitely DON'T considering staying here if you are sensitive to noise or are a light sleeper. Fourth Street Live is right next door and I feel like there's a club right in my very room.

I want to start off by saying the staff was very friendly and pleasant. Stayed at The Seelbach for 4 nights for the NCAA tournament and the hotel is in a great location. It's right by Fourth Street LIVE! and in walking distance to the YUM Center. Loved the old school feel of the hotel and interior design. I will say that the building and cleaning of the building could be maintained better. In the room(623) on the Hilton Honors floor three things bothered me. The edges of the carpet were very dusty and the ceiling was as well. The bathroom vent needs cleaned because it was useless/didn't remove any moisture from the shower. And in addition to the dusty carpet I stepped on a piece of broken glass in the middle of the room and cut my foot. Overall a good stay.

Great location and couldn't help but give it 5 stars for the architecture, history, and the great staff. The rooms are small and dated but that is to be expected from a hotel that is this old. The lobby is fantastic.

With the number of hotels within two blocks, this hotel is low on my list to book again. The lobby and restaurant are gorgeous (the food is mediocre for the price - plenty of better options nearby), but both are open to the public. I recommend staying somewhere else and checking out the hotel during the day if the historic style is important. The rooms are extremely small unless you pay for a suite. We stayed in a queen room, and could barely walk around the bed to get in. If you do stay here, make sure you ask for a street facing view away from the elevator (the elevator bell is loud enough to wake people up in their rooms nearby - the walls are also very thin).

Beautiful hotel with a great history. Every staff member I met was extremely polite and helpful. The location is perfect in it's downtown location with a great many activities, restaurants, and bars within immediate walking distance. Rooms are a bit small but that is expected considering it was built in the early 1900s. Though small the rooms are well adorned and the heating/cooling system worked great. Definitely a place to spend a few nights at and I would definitely stay here again.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!
I attended a women s conference at the sealbach hotel on August 3rd. While my friend and I were waiting for our car in the front lobby I decided to use the restroom. I went down to the banquet area and entered the women s restroom. As I was using the restroom a hand holding an iPhone came under the bottom of the the stall I was using and took a picture of me. There was a man in the stall next to me snd I ran out of the restroom with him following me. I was screaming for help.
As I was running trying to get away from this man who chasing me I found an employee of the hotel and asked her to please help me and to call the police. She laughed at me. I then ran to the front desk and asked another employee to please help me. He threw his hands in the air and looked at me like I was crazy. The third employee was no help and I finally met w the operations manager of the hotel and he apologized saying that he couldn t do anybthivg as the man who took my picture in the women s restroom was and employee of the valet company and not an employee of the hotel.

Sealbach Hilton had no idea who or how to contact the 3rd party valet company.

The operations manager said he would take care of everything and give me a call. 4 weeks later nothing has been done. No call nothing.

This hotel has a third party who operated the valley service. The man who was in the women s restroom and took my photo is an employee of the ballet company. No employee at the hotel that night knew who anything about this 3rd party valet company.

This hotel is not safe.

An old posh historic hotel only 2 blocks from 4th Street Live. Many famous people have stayed and visited the hotel. Has a very infamous bar called The Oak Room. Parts of the hotel are supposed to be haunted, one being Rathskeller space that used to be a bar, now private event space. Gangsters frequented this one time bar, along with The Oak Room; one of them being Al Capone. It's lobby is beautiful with a magnificent grand staircase as it's center attraction. Love this hotel, great location, waking distance to KFC Yum Center/Arena. Highly recommend staying here ... you won't be sorry.

Room sizes were too small. Towel had wad of hair folded in into it. Made me puke right there. Bathroom space is extremely tight. There is nothing romantic or charming about this place as many claim

Comically bad room. We used points and "upgraded" to the exclusive 7th floor thinking the room would be special, let me list the issues as I noticed them.
Small room for a double bed setup.
Carpet looks very old and dirty.
Remote for tv had no back and batteries fell out.
Ancient phones that were not working.
Drawers were missing a knob.
Faux marble counter was crooked and hot glued in place.
Knob for sink fell off when turned.
Wood rotting around tub.
No fan in the bathroom.
View out the window was the roof of another building and a brick wall.

In fairness all the staff I encountered were quite helpful and kind. The location downtown is excellent. The beds were alright.

Staying here once again. This is a truly historic hotel within the heart of downtown Louisville. Like many historic hotels, the rooms vary greatly in size and some of them do show their age. However, the location, the staff, and the decor are very hard to beat.

It reminds me some of staying in the Palmer House Hotel in Chicago.

Beautiful historic hotel. The restaurant is very expensive for the quality or, I should say the lack of quality of food that came out. So, stay at the hotel just go to dinner somewhere else.

Bob at the bar was great! Checkin was less than hospitable but was quick at least. Valet at checkin was way understaffed for the flow of guests arriving and departing. The AC was excellent but the room was not what was depicted on line...extremely small.

The rooms are tiny, the service in gatsbys for breakfast was horrible, none of the staff seems like they knew what three were doing, finally a waiter came on duty and seemed to be working the entire dining room and doing a great job at it. No place to get a Co of coffee after 1 pm,
