Comfortable and well kept hotel for one night in Salem. The room and bathroom were quite large in size and came with tea and coffee making facilities. The staff were helpful looking after our cases before we could check in and after we checked out (we arrived by train). The location is ideal for visiting Salem on foot (it's not a big town anyway).

I am actually staying here right now. The hotel itself is pretty nice but WAY overpriced. Had breakfast at the Regatta Pub downstairs this morning and it was absolutely horrible. I ordered an omelette with sausage onion and American cheese. Omelette came burnt to a crisp with cheddar cheese ( which I don t like). I tried to scrape the Cheese off but it was so burnt I couldn t eat it. Potatoes were flavorless and the wait to sit down was unessesarily long as there was plenty of seating. When the waitress came to ask how everything was I told her the omelette had cheddar and was burnt. She said I m sorry, I ll get your check . Ok.. and no she did not take the omelette off my bill. Will definitely not eat there again.

You're greeted with a very friendly and welcoming staff. Kids were greeted with hot chocolate in the lobby. Our room was nice and comfortable.
The hotel is at a walkable distance from all the attractions and restaurants. You'll be spoiled with choices.
The best part was relaxing in the heated indoor pool.

The hotel was nice, the staff were super sweet, and everything was really clean! It was a lovely stay! The only things keeping it at 4 star is that it is a lot more expensive than the other Hotels in Salem, but we chose it because it was the only one with a pool. However, we went to swim and the pool was the coldest pool I have ever set foot in. It is completely indoor but it felt like stepping into the ocean in winter! Overall great, but probably should get a better pool heater if that is what makes your price higher

We had a great stay here! The staff was friendly and helpful and housekeeping wonderful. We would recommend this hotel for your stay, a close walk to all Salem sites, even the ferry to Boston.

Blue was a little small. The beds or queen-size. If you like small beds and you sleep with your spouse it's okay but I don't I have a large bed and I like to sleep with my spouse. It's little pretentious. But overall and good stay there

I do not know how the other reviews for this hotel can be authentic. This hotel is awful! Absolutely most uncomfortable bed I ve ever slept in. Filthy floors. Filthy couch. Filthy room. Not waterfront.
Do yourself a favor, stay at The Hotel Salem.
I could not get out of the second night of my reservation at Salem Waterfront and had to pay for both nights but left anyway. Couldn t stand one more night in this nasty hotel!
Came to The Hotel Salem and had an amazing night of sleep.
I do not know how Salem Waterfront is still up and running...gross!!

Very nice place, used to be a housekeeper so my experience I'd call it done well enough for cleaning.. staff friendly though place as a whole very nice, great location short walk to all our touristy needs for shopping and food would definitely go back for that reason alone.

We went to the wicked night on the wharf Halloween party, and it was awesome! Great DJ with good selection of music. Hors 'devours were excellent. Drinks were average price, beer $5 and mixed drinks around the $9 range. Costume contest was cool, with some decent prizes (one of them being a free stay at the hotel). Would definitely go again!

Very nice hotel. The staff was friendly and the room was beautiful.
If you need to use the pull out couch for a bed, I recommend bringing a blow-up mattress instead, it was super uncomfortable.
The hotels restaurant was nice but had very little gluten free options for those who need it.

Everything was OK with the hotel until they double charge me for my room.... They charge for a room the day prior that My husband and I were supposed to check in. I will not stay with them again.

Parking is woefully inadequate. Drove around for a half hour and then the bellhop told me to park in a handicapped spot (!). Then the concierge told me to park in the fire lane instead (!?!?).

Checked out a night early because the air conditioning was unable to cool my room below 85 degrees and I couldnt stand to spend another night there

Stayed Wednesday through Sunday. At first, was good, except whole stay our ac was NOT working well.. Friday and Saturday were horrible!!! Group of guests were very inconsiderate of everyone else staying.. Standing in hallway loudly talking, slamming doors, shaking walls and yelling... This all happened at 11:30pm till 3:45 am. Called and complained but did not stop it... Will definetly not stay again. For the amount of money paid, expected much more relaxing, comfortable and quiet place. Extremely dissapointed!!

Everything was good.

Everything was good.

Comfy beds, and pillows. Good breakfast food served late.

The one is that my rooms air conditioner was very loud so I had to turn it off to be able to sleep.

It was nice. The food and drinks were good. The service was not the best though. I think all of business need to learn a thing or two about curomer service. The service seems like everything is a bother and they dont even to help customers when needed

Perfect location for enjoying Salem, next door to quaint shops and good restaurants. rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and very clean and comfortable. We also recommend spa treatments at Andrew Michael's Spa and Salon, in Salem a few miles from the hotel.

The hotel is really nice, we got a king suite and the room was fairly spacious. The pub downstairs has great food and drinks, and the location is fantastic - within a fifteen minute walk for everything you'd really want to check out in Salem. The only things I didn't like were that the room is very poorly lit (difficult to do makeup in) and there's no thermostat; you turn a dial on the heater/AC. But if you turn the AC all the way up and leave the heat button clicked down, it still shoots warm air. The neat things about it are that they have a lighted makeup mirror and a makeup towel (black, so it doesn't stain the white ones).

Our room was a little out dated. I booked a room for 2 queen size beds and got a room with 1 queen size bed and 1 full size bed.
We ordered room service and got our food but it was definitely not a $48 meal. Their pop was flat so they brought us 2 hot coke cans.
We left a day early and even checked out super early and couldn't get any money back on the room.
Other than all that the pool was nice and they had our extra pillows and fan in our room for us when we arrived.

Beautiful hotel. It smelled wonderful as soon as you walked in. Rooms were large and had refrigerator and microwave. Right on the water & easy access to local sites.

Pool is lovely & staff are professional. We'd highly recommend

The waterfront hotel was great! The Room was very clean, the staff was very nice and it was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The soaps in the bathroom smelled delicious. The hotel is located within walking distance of most of the sights of Salem.

Sadly, this hotel has changed...for the worse. WE stayed in November 2014 and were so thrilled with the service, the way we were treated, the little "extras" we opted to stay again this week, June2015. Big mistake!! They wouldn't honor our AARP disc.....and were even told "even if they wanted to do it ,the system wouldn't let them" {as we checked out they did give us 10% off one night, for a three night stay}. We were given the wrong room, which they corrected but were then given a room right next to the loud elevators. They no longer have chocolate's and cider {drinks} in the lobby in the evening. OUr room never go maid service the second day we were there. The Pub staff was still very friendly and apologetic for our unpleasant stay. The room keysystem was messed up so you had to ask a front desk person to open your door every time! The biggest complaint I had was the customer service.. No one really seemed to really care.....the total opposite of the attention we received in November.. I heard lots of " I am sorry", but no "how can I make it better for you!" I am very sorry to say after this visit we will NOT stay here again, nor will we tell anyone else to stay at The Salem Waterfront Hotel!
