As i write i am watching the sunset by the beach. Free entertainment. Drinks and food at trhe maitai bar right on the beach. Justine is looking after us. What could be better? And we have 5 more days. But where is Joni Mitchell (the pink hotel......). Must stop now the fire show is starting. Oh forgot to say the location, rooms and service are excellent

Classic hotel on famous Waikiki Beach. Very classy service and amenities. Although kids are certainly welcomed, there's not much for them to do. We ended up visiting the beaches and nearby sites. Great vacation.
Ok hotel. Malanai Tower is where you want to stay. Floors 5 and up are great. You can sleep with the sliding door open and listen to the waves crashing onto the beach. Food is overpriced for what you get.
It s a beautiful hotel great service my only complaints are;
1. Please fix your internet the internet is so slow and incredibly annoying to use, I had better internet access at Turtle Bay.
2. If you enjoy the beach you need to wake up early to reserve a beach chair, at other hotels on wakiki you can reserve a chair the day prior without having to get up super early.
Love this hotel, it's a great place to stay and hang out. The peaceful atmosphere when there is so restful, it's a great place to re-charge after the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Mai Tai bar has fantastic drink selection and good live music.
We used points to redeem a room at The Royal Hawaiian Hotel. The description online says it's "Historical Room". However, the room is on 2nd floor with a concrete top view, it looks like a motel, not a 5 star hotel.
Speaking of Waikiki ... Pink Palace. There is a unique atmosphere, and if you come here you will come to Hawaii! I feel like that. Everywhere is a picture, the restaurant in front of the beach is delicious and I love it. However, since I had a child, I came to wonder a little more. After all, personally, it is the hotel which is most suitable for couples and girls traveling. It is very nice that you can have a snack at the lounge. I got bored in a couple of days, but I was grateful that I could just eat fruit, yoghurt, and coffee alone, even in the morning I wanted to sloppy. I'm happy just sitting on the beach in front of me, no matter where I am in the hotel.
Ugh. It makes me wanna cry writing this because I want to go back so badly. I stayed here nov 3-11 for my 30th birthday, my boyfriend had been active military stationed in Hawaii a few years prior and told me so much about the beauty of the island - so we made a trip of it! He suggested this hotel because sometimes I m a tinnnyyyy bit picking about accommodations
To say he hit the nail on the head is an understatement. This hotel is beautiful. It makes you feel special just walking in the front entrance. I love the open air feeling of everything, water infused with fruit placed around the hotel for your enjoyment, free fresh baked goods daily. Ugh. I love history so we stayed in the historical wing and it was beautiful, hand carved wooden doors, rooms were spacious enough and the beds were to die for, I ve never slept more comfortably.
Everyday the maid service did an amazing job, setting up my daughters bed with her lei and stuffed animals differently every day, she loved it. They never intruded either. Fresh towels everyday. It was great.
The hotel is beautiful, but the amenities around it are even more amazing. It is walkable to everything in Waikiki. Seriously, everything. The pool they share with the Sheraton has the best views of the sunset, rum fire is AMAZING, and my daughter loved the pool slides!
I can t complain about a single thing from my trip, this hotel and the island made for the most memorable birthday ever. People complain about the daily resort fee but if you look in the booklet they give you upon arrival, you get soooo much included, even things off hotel site such as discounts at stores, free aquarium passes, etc.
Thank you Royal Hawaiian, we will see you again this summer!!
My favorite Waikiki beach side hotel ~ Hotel Pink Palace that becomes a picture regardless of where in the building Historic Garden is a space where you can feel the history Mai Lani Tower is a perfect resort hotel High ceilings and large spaces can be healed wherever you are. Best hotel in my house ^ ^ Directly enter the Royal Hawaiian Center through the courtyard
The Royal Hawaiian is an historic classic and worth a visit. I like staying there. That said - it is worthwhile to know that the rooms are small - a legacy of the age - and the pool is tiny. Happily, you are 100 yards from a big pool called the Pacific Ocean.
The Tower has a special lounge that has continental breakfast with and happy hour including champagne and some light food. Access requires your room key
Restaurant breakfast is also good.
Mai Tai bar is a classic - a must to visit
I love historic old hotels so this place works well for me- especially the gorgeous public spaces
Great resort! Has everything, restaurants, shops, pool, gym, spa! Beautiful rooms and great service! You can walk to everything because you don't want to drive in Waikiki unless you're driving to other parts of the Island of Oahu.
I stayed in the tower building. The room with 2 double beds is large and comfortable! In the corner room on the 6th floor, I could see Diamond Head and the beach and it was the best view. Starry sky lie on Lanai sofa Even though I was wearing it in the morning, when I went to check-in with no use, I was glad that I was tired that I could use the room immediately. All the cast members of the hotel were kind and friendly and we were able to stay with peace of mind. The only drawback to Japanese bath lovers is that the bathtub was shallow and the shower was bad.
Great location in the centre of Waikiki with direct access to the Waikiki Beach and lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Hotel is a little aged but reasonably well maintained. Would have given full rating if not for some house keeping problems.
Stayed in a single King room with a garden view. Amenities and concierge service was amazing and attentive. The rooms were classically appointed and shockingly quiet. The hotel was packed but once we got into our room it was dead quiet.
Used my SPG free nights for 3 night stay and we loved the location. Walk out to the beach, close to all the shops, and a very clean room. Unfortunately, the good ends there. There was a ton of fees and parking is not complimentary' $40USD/day, self park or valet are the same price. Valet is like russian roulette; you can end up being stuck in the round about when there's an event. If you have plans and need your car to get out on time, good luck! I did not understand the resort fee when you practically have to pay for EVERYTHING that you would expect in a resort to provide for when you already paid the fee; for example, $40USD/day to reserve a beach chairs. I should note beach towels are provided for the $37USD/day resort fee but for that kind of fee, I can get a set of really soft cotton beach towels and even have them dry cleaned. Also, if you're using your SPG free nights, don't expect to have the "Luxury Collection" treatment. My wife and I definitely did not, while I lined up to see everyone check-in early, we were the only couple that did not have their room ready up until 3 PM; I tried checking in at 1 PM, at 2 PM, at 2:30 PM. I really wonder if all the SPG rooms are cleaned last. The walls are paper thin too, you can hear your neighbors loud and clear. No complimentary rope or slippers for your stay. I wonder how The Royal Hawaiian became a Luxury Collection because I really failed to see or experience any of it. I really wish I had used my SPG free nights somewhere else.
The walls are thin but you can go to the beach soon and maybe this is the best. Tall buildings are free of light meals and alcohol every evening. You can get bread at check-in.
We had dinner at Azure. Service was very refined. Nice raspberry cocktail and Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Monchong fish was good, but the sauce was a bit over buttery and the sides didn't complement it very well. Desert options sounded fantastic, but we didn't try them.
Attended the 2017 Hale Aina Awards on the lawn of the Royal Hawaiian. Plenty of parking at the nearby Sheraton parking lot which was validated. The night consisted of food and drinks from the award winners of the Hale Aina's, which is put on by Honolulu magazine. There was also live music, and the Iona dancers as the entertainment. Would attend in the future.
This hotel is gorgeous. The room was very unique in its design and very clean, so overall it was very comfortable.
I felt a little out of place with the other customers, they all seemed so fancy.
The staff was incredibly friendly, especially the valet/bell staff and the restaurant staff. They remembered our names and made conversation with us, helped us feel like we were at home.
My only complaint was that the birds at the restaurant are SO AGGRESSIVE. They were hopping onto people's plates while they were eating!
Renowned, prestigious hotel in the heart of Waikiki. It is very nice to sit on the terrace, watch the ocean, the tropical itch, a tropical scratch cocktail that you can add to a bunny-tailed wand. I brought it home, I use it at home, pleasant and reminiscent of this wonderful hotel.
I like the best atmosphere in Hawaii. I feel like raffles in Singapore. The tower has a lounge where you can enjoy drinks and snacks (no late hours) There used to be a smoking area outside, but it may not have been found this time. The view from the balcony is nice, but unfortunately there were occasions when there were people smoking cigarettes and when the window was opened they came to smell. The hotel is non smoking.
Very classy atmosphere. Drinks were top notch, as they served a variety of mai tai's.. Food was delicious, good but not great. We had truffle fries and pizza. Live music. Great open atmosphere to bring family and friends.
We stayed during the strike. The staff on duty left a hugely positive impression and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. In fact, I started to gradually feel appreciative of the graceful service I received and decided to take the time to write a review a few months after coming home.
The receptionist gave us some complimentary banana bread from their bakery shop and apologised that the usual welcome coffee wasn't available. Also she waived our parking fees due to the fact the usual valet service wasn't on. Just a simple gesture but the genuine intent was refreshing.
The acting bell captain helped us with the luggage and he must have been working for days on in as I saw him almost morning and night for the two day stay but he was cool, fresh and the nicest serviceman I had met period in my life. His welcoming conversation and helpful attitude providing us with pinpoint beneficial information re kids pool hours etc made us feel welcome but still being respected of our privacy etc. Personal yet unobtrusive. I really learned a lot from this gentleman.
Facilities not the newest but I came here to enjoy the history and was able to soak it all in from the details of the grand historic building from the foyer ceilings to the heavy solid intricately carved doors. The amenities were organic local high end Malie and the bed was comfortable.
All in all, very short but a memorable stay at Hawaii's finest.
Very nice, luxurious hotel. This hotel is near everything, so it became a reliable center of our stay in Honolulu. Bell boy, receptionists, cleaning staff were all welcoming and helpful. I love the wall panel of the room and bath lobe. The bath lobe sees available only when you ask. It's so cute! I'd love to stay there again.
I attended a friend's wedding here but the place is in a prime location on the beach and has a great open feel to it. Rooms seemed nice and in very good shape from what I could see and the food was pretty good.
First time to Hawai'I. This hotel is beautiful The staff go above and beyond. King room facing the ocean is perfect. The restaurants are all equally yummy!
