It was alright but not on par with other Waldorf Astoria properties. Room was dated and cramped.
It was alright but not on par with other Waldorf Astoria properties. Room was dated and cramped.
I was here for the restaurant. Domenica was great as always.
Great City Hotel!
The hotel, off Canal on Baronne, give you close access to the French Quarter and the CBD. It is quite luxurious and worthy of its' name.
Two things set this hotel apart. First, the people throughout were unfailingly pleasant and helpful, from the desk staff to the gentleman who placed my luggage in the car, asking me if I needed directions out of town. Second, the hotel has excellent dining (Domenico's) and two bars, so if you need a respite from Bourbon Street or a bout of miserable weather, you couldn't ask for a better place.
I have stayed at other Waldorf Astoria properties and this hotel, while it has its vintage charm, was not up to snuff. For the most part, interacting with the staff was smooth, and everyone was lovely. But the service sometimes seemed schizophrenic. For example, we got a suite with a pullout bed for our kids and some days the bed would be pulled out when we got back to the room, some days it would not. Once, when I asked for it to be done, nobody came until I called and asked again. The lobby is spectacular but the rest of the property could stand an update for the price point. Dated decor, nicks on the walls from the furniture, loose door handles to the bathroom, vent fan not working, chipped paint, loose fixtures, etc. Just freshening up the place would go great lengths to reestablishing this hotel among the top echelon in New Orleans.
This is an excellent place to stay while visiting Canal St. or Bourbon St. areas. Service is excellent and the staff is very polite.
We went to go have pizza at dominica which is always delicious and amazing. This time of year the roosevelt will decorate their lobby with gorgeous lights. Defintely a must see when coming to the city around christmas time.
Stopped in at the Sazerac Bar to have the Sazerac cocktail. The service and drinks were fantastic.
Nice location, friendly staff. The receptionist was amazing.
This luxe iconic hotel in a grand 1863 building is a 15-minute walk from Bourbon Street and a 4-minute walk from Harrah's Casino.
Plush rooms and suites have traditional decor, 42-inch flat-screen TVs and Wi-Fi (fee). Some rooms have separate seating areas, bay windows, and bathrooms with TVs or claw-foot tubs. Room service is offered.
There's an upscale restaurant serving Italian cuisine, a sophisticated lounge offering seafood, a cafe, and the historic Sazerac Bar. A rooftop pool has a hot tub, loungers, cabanas and a bar offering light meals. There's also a fitness center and a full-service spa.
Rooms are nice and clean. Room service wasn't excellent. $70 for two greasy sandwiches.
The Roosevelt, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, offers gorgeous lights and trees filling magnificent halls during the Christmas Season!
I used the valet parking option, had drinks with Susan in the bar/restaurant. Enjoyed myself. Excellent service.
The Christmas decorations are some of the best I've seen.. you can tell the hotel press in a lot of effort in seeing it up and keeping it neat
The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and curtious. The food was magnificent and I was extremely happy with my room. Thank you for making this one of my favorite memories
Excellent service, expensive but very good location
Five star PLUS! Wonderful room, friendly staff. Perfectly happy to indulge my whims. Went for Mardi Gras, and found it to be wonderfully inviting, in a way that made me wish I could stay forever. To make matters even better, the whole French Quarter was at the doorstep, only a few minutes walk to whatever you might like to do. If you're in NOLA, this is a must!! THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES, GUYS!!!
My wife and I wanted to try a classic Sazerac and Gin Fizz, so this was the place to go. It is elegant and the bar staff was really friendly and happy to discuss the drinks. The Gin Fizz was incredible and I have no doubt that the Sazerac was expertly prepared (although, to be honest, it was not something we will order again - just not our taste). And as an added bonus, we saw Harry Connick Jr. as we left - a little celebrity sighting was fun.
The fountain lounge was great. A little pricey but well worth it
This Hotel is an experience of a live time ...a gorgeous place in the middle of everything...lov it ..
Had drinks at the Sazerac. Beautiful place and great service.
Visited the UPS store inside the hotel. They charge to ship packages that already have pre-paid labels on them, so I used another UPS store that doesn't. Won't use this location again.
Lovely hotel. Check out the restaurants. A must see in December when decorated for the holidays
Awesome atmosphere at the Sazerac bar is perfect for a nightcap, as long as you can afford $15 cocktails!
Gorgeous hotel! Try to go during Christmas, the hotel is totally decked out. They have carolers from local schools. Fantastic.
Went to the Sazerac Bar as a tourist to try out their famous cocktail, and had a blast. Great historic setting with original 1930s WPA-style murals commissioned by the first owner still there. A high-end destination, so don't show up in the denim shorts and fanny pack from your day of sightseeing. A great example of Old Elegance still in the city, all yours for the price of a single cocktail.
Walked through the lobby to look at Christmas light... Beautiful
Beautifully appointed spaces, excellent service offering hospitality that gave The South a great reputation, delectable food combinations with lovely presentation, beverages that delight the palate...a treat for all the senses. Highly recommended.
We stayed there for two nights using our Honor points 12/29-12/30 after a cruise . The hotel location is good for being close to the French Quarter. Fancy decoration but that is it. The hotel was old and not keeping up with updates. The elevator door was not clean and smudgy. Hotel staffs were slow to response. I ordered some hot water for tea, yes hot water (because there is no coffee maker in the room) and it never came. Total disappointment. We had much better service with the Hilton Riverside a few blocks away. Overall, dated old fashioned fancy, not worth it.
Some rooms are bigger than others. Every employee was very friendly, but they charge you for every little thing.
Always a pleasure at the Roosevelt. Even if we don't stay here overnight, seteneto stop in for a drink at Domenica or the Fountain Lounge. The lobby is beautiful and is worth the trip. Gets crowded on weekends with the number of functions occurring in the ball rooms.
Pricey but perfect Sazerac served in the aptly named bar.
We went for after-dinner cocktails at The Sazerac Bar and they did not disappoint. You really cannot go wrong here as the bartenders are experts in their craft; I ordered a Sazerac of course, and my wife the Ramos gin fizz. We will definitely be going back on our next NOLA visit.
Nice architecture, had a nice lunch at the restaurant
Super fancy hotel top notch workers and equipment. Great stay.
Everything was wonderful, first class at the reception we attended.
The Sazerac bar is awesome, great drinks and great service with a retro atmosphere. Ask for the Absynthe Frappe!
Busy, but pretty. Sazerac bar had excellent mixologists. Get the gin fizz.
This place is amazing. Rooms are great. Just ask for a more firm pillow.
Old, historic yet updated.
If I had to find something to complain about: the toilet is located pretty close to the showet but the rest if the room makes up for it.
Great lobby. Pool in the 4th floor with a view and a bar.
Very nice
I have lived in New Orleans for 23 years, and it was my first time visiting this property. I love that! Every member of the staff was so nice and helpful. The property is so beautiful, and historic. Everything was very clean, and a great location to anything you need in New Orleans. Lots of dining options as well.
The waiter was friendly and had good recommendations. The ambiance was nice, and all the good we tried was excellent. We never got a refilled water carafe though.
Clean rooms, friendly staff and conveniently located in the heart of New Orleans but away from the all the chaos so you can sleep peacefully.
Excellent service and fantastic pool area and nice rooms. Best stay ever
One of my favorite places to go for cocktail during holidays always very festive and also sort of a throwback to another time. Has a very good elegant quality to it. Nice dark wood friendly bartenders it's just good place to chill and have a drink
Top notch old school 5 start hotel. Worth every penny.
I stopped in to have just a cup of coffee in the cafe while figuring out my travels in New Orleans and the staff was incredibly accommodating. They were so nice, we were lucky to be there when nobody else was there so we got personalized service that included some of the most pristinely brewed espresso and some genuinely excited recommendations for their favorite places. Thank you!
As the coordinator for our annual staff meeting, and having been in charge of this task for the first time EVER, I can say without question that Kassandra is the best event coordinator I could have worked with! I received proposals from hotels all over and I'm so glad we ended up at The Roosevelt! The rooms are beautiful, the staff was so accommodating, and our meetings could not have gone more smoothly. Even with last minute changes being thrown at us, they effortlessly took care of the details for me and made my job so much easier. I honestly can't stress enough how much I enjoyed my stay and what a pleasure it was to work with Kassandra! I highly recommend The Roosevelt if you are looking for a place to stay in New Orleans, or if you are scheduling an event.
The hotel was nice! But they keep charging my card different amounts and no one can tell me why
Nice hotel. Five minutes from Bourbon Street and the French Quarter..
Do not eat the food from the fridge! I was in a room on the 4th floor and got deathly sick from the food items (which led me to check the expiration dates that I should not have blindly trusted in the first place - SUPER EXPIRED) and even after them telling me 'sorry' and that they would reverse the charges or otherwise 'make this right for me', the bill remains and they do not care whatsoever.
Didn't stay there, but drinks at the bar were phenomenal. Got the Ramos Gin Fizz and loved it, but I'm not normally a gin drinker.
I travel very often for work and have been in every type of motel/hotel all over the country, and this was by far one of the worst experiences I have had. Here's just a short list of some of the issues I had:
- The room generally was not up to par for Waldorf hotel. The amenities in the room were very dated including TV and phone, the walls in the room were scratched up from the desk chair right next to it, some of the outlets were loose and couldn't keep things plugged in; and the AC didn't seem to be working properly.
- The walls between rooms are also paper thin. I can hear every single conversation coming from the room next to me. It would have been bareable if it were just conversation coming from the room, but the second night of my stay, they had a party and were extremely loud very late into the night and slamming doors. I called the front desk who said they would send security, but it took so long for security to come that the party pretty much ended by the time anyone checked.
- Housekeeping threw out some of my personal beauty products.
- At check-out, the front desk staff was unhelpful at check out when I asked about adding the stay to my Hilton Honors account and seemed very annoyed from the moment I stepped up.
- I was charged two extra items that weren't even properly itemized from the minibar.
Some of these may seem frivolous, but I shouldn't be having the same problems at a place charging over $300 a night as a $30 a night motel.
My friends and I went to the Sazerac bar to try the famed place the drink was created. The way the drink was made is entertaining, however the drink was quite pricey at $18/each. We were there during the holidays and the seasonal decorations were a treat.
This hotel is known Nationwide for it's blocklong (Baronne to O'Keefe) winter wonderland. It attracts visitors from everywhere just to stroll through this Christmas fairyland. It created it's own cocktail called the Sazerac. It also has a restaurant named THE SAZERAC. Also has a huge coffee bar, a separate lounge. Don't miss this unique hotel.
Beautiful hotel. Magnificent Christmas lights display. Upscale and debonair.
Great hotel.in a wonderful NOLA location. We held a successful business event at the hotel. Very good support and staff.
Beautiful hotel, enjoyed the bars, but the view from our window was terrible and the bathroom was tiny.
When we arrived our room was not ready, we did not get checked in until after 5 pm. Then we called at 9:30 am to see when check out was, the front desk said noon. Well not but 5 minutes later house keeping was knocking at our door. We used points to book and feel like it was used against us. The positive notes are the hotel is obviously beautiful and the shower was amazing!
Food wise it was good the lasagna was definty a good portion but service was horrible. The waitress was slow and to busy checking on the table next to me playing with the baby and little girl. It took 26 minutes to receive a bottle of coke, with almost 15 minutes of those with an empty water bottle, and to end it off it took 17 minutes to receive the check after asking for it.
