The spa at the Old Mill is always fantastic. I walk out of there on cloud nine. Service is the best and the staff is always helpful. I recommend the Old Mill to evryone.
I was warmly greeted by Sara and Emely. I definitely enjoyed this spa experience, my first reflexology/deep tissue massage. Tara explained in advance what was about to take place and kept checking on my pain threshold throughout the massage. While she knew my health history from my card it was interesting to note that I experienced sensitivity in the area of my feet that related to my pre-existing issue. She also suggested a couple of stretches that would help open up my upper back area and shoulders. I ll be back for a repeat!
Amazing! I had a relaxation massage at the Old Mill Spa with Annetta today. She was abolsutely lovely and very talented. I left feeling so relaxed! They were great with COVID protocols, felt safe and well taken care of.
I had a great massage and facial but unfortunately the mani pedi that I had were the worst of my experience. For the amount we paid for this service, I expected so much better. I could have gone to one of my neighborhood nail salons and paid $35 for both services and ended up with a much better result. My nails were filed in a weird shape, the polish was applied unevenly and is already chipping (I had the service done 2 days ago). My husbands cuticles weren t cleaned well, I m looking at his hands today and see that it doesn t even look like he had a manicure.
Most upsetting, my toenails were cut so short I think I have the start of an ingrown toenail.
Shame because the tech was very nice and easy to talk to I guess I didn t have time to notice the terrible job that was being done.

Just had the worst customer service ever at the Old Mill Spa. I booked a facial service 2 days ago with the online booking system. There were two options to book either creating an account or booking without an account. I choose the latter because I find creating accounts a nuisance. Anyways I go for my service today only to find out that the booking did not go through! The customer service lady told me that you need to create an acct to book an online service. I asked her why is there an option to not create an acct? She proceeded to ramble on about "a computer glitch that's being fixed" blah, blah, blah. I said so "I wasted $4.00 on parking for nothing" to which she just stared at me.
For me a place with true class and quality would have offered to reimburse me the parking right away! What's worse she looked me up online and could see that I'm a regular customer who goes for a service at least once or twice a year for the past several years!!
I found this service to be appalling and will now look elsewhere for spa services.
Enjoyed a wonderful aromatherapy massage with my daughter at the spa. Much needed relaxation for both of us. If you go I highly recommend Christina, she has amazing energy
My best friend booked a surprise spa day for my birthday, it was a relaxing experience to say the least. We did a 30 minute spa, a lavender manicure and ended the day with afternoon tea. I would definitely recommended the spa at the Old Mill.
Beautiful, relaxing, and over all always a great experience! Favourite spa in the city!
Just wanted to make note of Annetta and her excellence - I had my first facial 3 days ago, and while the Old Mill Spa is very lovely, she is what made the experience so great for me. Such a kind and gentle person, she made me feel very comfortable and was so knowledgeable on the products she was using (and taught me a thing or two about my own skin). I just thought she was amazing. I would return in a heartbeat and request her :)
I initially did not have a great experience, but I passed along private feedback to management so that they were aware and could better the experience for other guests. I received an immediate response, incredible customer service, and they went out of their way to rectify the situation. It is an unreasonable expectation that every guest is 100% satisfied, but when they are not, it is always wonderful to see great customer service. Thank you Spa at The Old Mill!
Best pedicure in the Kingsway neighbourhood, ask for Fatima she is lovely and on point!!
We come here every year for our work Christmas party. I always look forward to it. Its a beautiful spot and so perfect around the holiday season. Food is good and the portions are quite big.
Went old mill not the spa for company retreat was great the brunch was fantastic the food was hot , service is great after our brunch went in one of the rooms for Mysteriously Yours that was fantastic everyone has to try it its lots of fun .The old mil is like your going back in time which is good all staff are pleasant and helpful everything inside and outside is clean
My daughter gave me a Reiki massage for my birthday. I have never had one before, however it s something I wanted to try. My providers name was Annette and let me tell she was so amazing I love her, her energy was amazing I felt very comfortable and at peace. Best birthday day gift and experience ever. I would definitely recommend and I will be booking again. Thanks Annette for a job well done.
Love this place. It's an oasis of relaxation. Everyone makes you feel like a queen. Very clean. Huge massage beds. So easy to spend the day here. Quiet and classy.
Always love my treatments at the Spa at the Old Mill. Great COVID protocols. Felt very safe & cared for.
So my wife and I were given a His & Hers Spa Package, which includes breakfast, His & Hers Massage and a nights stay in a Luxury King Room.
Must say for such an established name, they are one of the most poorly run businesses I've ever dealt with. We can find times to get the room, but cannot get time in the Spa. We can get time in the Spa, but not the room. Complicating matters, the group that books spa time cannot see room availability and vice versa.
So the next logical thing would be to, take the nights stay and use the spa portion on another convenient time - NOPE. You must use it all together. It's unfortunate that someone we know wasted money with these people - so at some point (seemingly 6 months in advance) - book our package to make use of it.
BUYER BEWARE...
For the response from management: I had called for 6 months trying to gets date to align. I then called a corporate booking manager who helped my company book events. Only that way was things lined up and were we able to make use of the package. Regardless - thanks for responding, even if it took two years.
We went to to Old Mill for their weekend tea. It was wonderful. They had a great variety of teas and the petite sandwiches and desserts were fabulous. We sat in a very charming room overlooking the yard.
They do high tea and their Sunday brunch is the bomb. Enough said!
I go to this spa for pedicures. Yes, it s expensive but I have had only good experiences in their relaxing environment. I never feel like a number during my unrushed appointments. Annetta is just the sweetest and treats me with the best pedicures.
Gorgeous ...topless...fabulous...my favorite resto.
Great place to go to get away temporarily. Staff is great. Will definitely go back
Good high tea. Great place to brunch or lunch with your girlfriends.
I was going to book a weekend stay
But after reading all the reviews, I ve changed my mind
I m sure I ll find a nice place with much better service and reviews
Good massage although a bit over priced. It would be great if they had other amenities like a pool
Had a splendid massage by Christina! Also a parrafin wrap and salt cave experience ;) very relaxing clean and the staff are wonderful !!
Probably had the worst pedicure Ive ever had. Nails cut crooked and nail polish was not even applied well. Sloppy application. Considering its a spa and you are paying way more than a regular nail salon, it was not worth it at all and I would not recommend the pedi or go back for that particular service. Just go to your local spot, this is not worth the price.
I consistently see Christina and my husband saw Belinda today for the first time. He loved the experience. We will never go anywhere else for our massages.
Got a massage here. Was great. The staff were super friendly.
Love the massage was very relaxing. Will definitely be going back.
Had an amazing facial with Fatima! Highly recommend it!
Had an excellent couple's massage here. Great atmosphere, clean, and excellent workers. Very relaxing. Rather expensive, but it is always nice to treat yourself. I thought the salt room was kind of weird. It made me cough a lot, wasn't sure if that was the norm though.
Room was Fantastic, very large, clean, comfy bed and huge Jacuzzi tub. Had a 60 minute couples massage in the spa and it was great. Very Relaxing and a nice anniversary getaway.
I have been going to the Old Mill for facials for a few years now. I am usually treated by Kasia, who is wonderful, but she is on maternity leave. At my visit last month, Annetta did my facial and sadly I was disappointed and would not recommend her. I felt Annetta did not spend the adequate amount of time on me. It felt rushed and not worth the pricey $150 cost. Firstly, Annetta did not do a skin analysis at the beginning of my treatment, to determine what types of gels and creams she would be using on my skin. Instead, when I walked into the treatment room she said you have great skin and that was it. (I appreciated the compliment but would ve still liked a quick analysis (under the strong light) to ensure my skin gets the treatment it needs! After all isn t it called a personalized facial?). During the facial, Annetta commented that I had bags under my eyes and that I should purchase the add-on eye mask. I said yes. In my mind, I thought this add-on service would mean an additional 10-15 minutes after my 1 hour facial. But no! Midway through my facial Annetta put the eye mask on and left me to be. I didn t realize that this add-on meant that my facial would be 15 minutes less. If I had known this, I wouldn t of purchased the add-on. (You pay more money to get less service? Seems counter intuitive). Lastly, with Kasia there was never a moment where I was left alone on the table. If Kasia was letting a cream sink into my skin then she would do a scalp massage or a hand massage. I didn t like how Annetta left me on the table during the eye-mask while she wrote notes. Not only could she have written these notes after the facial, but it wasn t relaxing to be lying on a table and hearing someone scribble loudly with a pen beside you. After a few minutes of lying there, I asked Annetta how long the mask would be on for, she got defensive and started to justify why she was writing notes (even though I didn t ask) and started to justify why she left me alone (because she s trained in relaxation or something). It got pretty uncomfortable for me. I didn t need her to justify herself; I just wanted a good facial and to get my money s worth! All in all, I do still like the Old Mill Spa since I love the products they use, but in the future I will be sure to book with an esthetician that I know will do a good job.
Mediocre at best. Everything was "just ok". Its unbelievable how many points of improvement I was able to spot only within the first 5 minutes. The nassage was also crap, it was not well done, it was very dry and more "pressing" rather than massaging. The ambiance was also terrible, the room was so lit up that there was no care put there, no eye cpvers either when you turn over. Not coming back ever.
I booked a manicure and pedicure for myself and a friend to celebrate her birthday. I must say that our experiences were completely different. While I watched her get pampered I and treated in the way one would expect at a spa my experience was horrible and quite disappointing . Agnes was the attendant and she had a very negative disposition. She did not know the proper technique to remove shellac polish and painted my nails in a very haphazard way. I was disappointed when I learned she'd also be doing my pedicure. She rushed through the pedicure, spilled cream on my towel that she used on my feet and then dropped utensils on the floor that she used on my feet. Theres polish on my skin around my toes and she gave a lackluster massage. For a spa of this calibre I expected more. When I asked for the manager I was told she was out of town. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS SPA!! I've had better services at local nail salons and this was not worth the money.
Went for the couples aromatherapy massage. It was great, very professionally done. The ambiance of the spa is very relaxing.
Not the best massage I've ever had. However the amenities made up for that. The "quiet room" with snacks and plenty of water options, the showers and most of all, the infrared sauna.
Horrible service. A Spa that feels in a hurry and like you are in the way. Book elsewere. I booked my husband a surprise sweedish massage here for his birthday given the location of the Old Mill and building are gorgeous. The massage was okay and service was atrocious. He said he felt in the way, did not feel pampered at all and everyone seemed very busy. Will be spending my money at Niagara on the Lake next time.
This review is written because the company doesn t respect anyone s schedule and no flexibility on their end. My sister was coming down from Victoria BC, to attend work conference in Ottawa. And my other sister decided to pick her up and celebrate the Bachelorette weekend in Toronto because she is part of the bridal party. My sister decided to pick this place because she belongs to the hospitality industry and she wanted to try out this place. However, they only had Friday available for the bookings. She took down my sister s credit card for 7 girls for 4:45 PM for Feb 03, 2017. Both my sister didn t end up coming in for their appointment because they got stuck in traffic coming down from Ottawa to Toronto and they got charged the same day for their services that they had booked off and never got a chance to redeem them because management couldn t do anything about it even though she kept calling in to inform them about their situation.
Meanwhile, I was working on Friday obviously decided to leave early because I was coming from Oakville. So I left at 3:30 PM and got stuck in traffic. I get inside the spa late and the manager told me that I am not allowed for the full-services instead I can only get my nail polish changed to complete my manicure services. Anyhow, the girl who was performing was mute the entire time didn't say anything to me. I told her that my legs are little dry can you put lotion on my legs and instead she gives me the LOTION BOTTLE TO DO IT MYSELF. I was like okay now that's just rude that I am not even allowed to have her put lotion on my legs?
At this point, I was going to snap on her because I was paying $80 plus taxes just to get my nail polish changed with not a lot of options of nail polishes But I didn t say anything because I didn t wanted to ruin my entire night just because of her. She finished everything by 6 PM and left the room without even saying anything. Anyhow, my friend was right beside me witnessing everything and we also saw another client who was getting his manicure done even after hours the woman still kept going to make sure his feet are nicely cleaned. I wouldn t recommend this place to someone who is working full-time job on a weekday.
Today, after four days later my toenails are now chipping. And obviously I am going to call the manager to see what could be done in this situation. Her response was I know your calling so what is it that you want and I said something at least something instead of another manicure services. I am only getting complimentary nail polish change again like why would I go back to Toronto to just get my nail polish changed.
Please don't waste your Money for this spa because there is better places out there in Toronto who actually understand if you re coming from West-end. Please search them by reading reviews. This was not my first time using the Spa services at the Hotel just FYI. I am guessing these services are only good for people who are staying at the hotel and not working during the daytime.
Thank you for taking your time to read this review
Had my first pedicure ever in my life... So good that I asked for "black with milk" at the end 5 stars for the ladies that gave us a pedi. However massage was mediocre at best... Barely 2.5 stars
Best spa experience! Excellent staff, beautiful location and very relaxing .. highly recommended for any occasion
Definitely not worth the money. Got a 2 hrs package for a body massage and a facial. The staff there were super friendly and professional. The service I got was only mediocre, I've had better.
Great service, very relaxing. Covid protocol in place.
Loved it, Sheridan was excellent and helped a lot with my shoulder. Staff were also very kind, safe and thorough.
Nice place for parties with a lovely buffet. The building is very unique. Good for special .
Excellent wedding venue - the staff, service and food were amazing!
Average, I dont see what all the hype is about. The spa reception area is pretty small, quiet room area is pretty small as well nothing relaxing about it if theres more then 2 ppl in there, packed with seating ...who wants to sit close to a stranger in robes?! When we went there were 8 others in there.
I had an amazing Classic English facial with Tara. She was very pleasant, caring, skilled, and gentle. I felt like I was in expert hands the entire time. It was definitely worth the price. The things aside from the facial like the Quiet Room and receptionists were a little disappointing, but nothing major. There was a kid in street clothes hanging out on his phone in the Quiet Room and some of the receptionists were over it, but it wasn t a dealbreaker.
Horrible Winterlicious experience. Overcrowded location, does not provide an atmosphere for private conversations.
The items on the menu are sub-par for the price. My soup was luke warm, my pasta had no flavour and the dessert was an absolute disappointment It's unfortunate because my afternoon tea experience was amazing. I HIGHLY suggest NOT to attend The Old Mill for Winterlicious. It's an underwhelming experience, especially for the price. In the future, The Old Mill need to have a better menu if the choose to participate in Summerlicious or better yet, don't participate.
We went with my husband on a Saturday night, we didn't planned and resulted a wonderful night, it was a Jazz band playing and singing, Bozza Nova, from Brazil, one of my favourite kind of music, it was raining outside, and inside it was warm, fantastic music, nice environment, good drinks, fun and joy. A night to remember, we will come back but next time earlier to enjoy the full night. The server was nice, very polite and friendly it was just perfect, next time we will have dinner to see how is the gastronomy area. I totally recommend.
BUYER BEWARE
I was interested in purchasing a Spa Gift Card for a room and a couples massage for my parents and was unable to do so. The reason being because the hotel and spa are unable to see each others availability. The process to book would be to find out what day you are looking for with the hotel and then call the spa to see if they have availability- I attempted to call twice and both times they were unable to accommodate, stating that they were booked. Also, the package cannot be used separately! Furthermore- online it states that the price is from $229 based on occupancy - when I called I was informed that did not include the price of the massages.!!!
Also I just noticed a response was posted by the owner stating that they apparently checked their records from a year ago ( which is when I posted the original review) and decided that I had called on a Thursday looking to book for the upcoming Saturday. I wonder how this was thought up. As I mentioned before I was looking to book for my parents - it was for an anniversary. Not something you plan two days before unlike your response.!!!!!
Really nice, rustic hotel. Not all amenities come with it as it is older. No microwave. So don't count on frozen dinners! There is a complimentary breakfast but that isn't advertised, it's good so take advantage of it!
My wife and I were excited to go for massages at the old mill spa. That morning we were informed via phone call that my massage was canceled.
Later in the day I got an email to confirm my appointment. We called the spa back and they confirmed that the massage appointments for my wife and I were scheduled.
When we arrived at the spa, they informed me once again that my massage had been cancelled.
All they could offer is a complimentary manicure or pedicure which I have no interest in.
Get it together old mill. Would expect much better service from the Old Mill.
Would rate lower but one star is the minimum rating for a review.
Gorgeous place for our brides to go to prior to their wedding day! Awesome services.
One of my favorite spa places. Annette was amazing. She does amazing extractions. It's a nice spa to getaway within the city. The area is beautiful
Awful customer service and rude staff. I would never go back
Gorgeous please for birthday and brides , very relaxing and empowering experience
This is a lovely place that visitors from far away and locals can appreciate. We took the RMT deep tissue spa package as part of our self care. Helping professionals need to do this more often. Four girls and a great weekend - Loved it
I go here for the jazz. It's a fantastic building with a lot of charm. Highly recommended
Amazing aromatherapy massage with paraffin treatment of my hands and feet. Felt totally pampered and my therapist constantly checked in to make sure the pressure was appropriate. Lovely place and the snacks included almonds, biscottis and apples. No pool or whirlpool but the women's locker room had a small sauna that fit one person. Very clean environment with friendly staff.
It was a nice experience but I feel like I expected more from it. The massage was just okay, I don't think I would make the trip back there
The ladies on the reception, the 31 st of march 2019 they just can't wait for you to leave.
This place should be all about feeling pamper but no with them, worst attitude at the reception.
I got an important call in middle of the transaction to pay and I said excuse me give me a second, she looked at her coworker disgusted like she was doing me a huge favor...
The full body massage was amazing as always, same as the facial.
Ps: Stop making your workers to push so much to clients to buy the line of products you have.
I have being going to this place for years and the only reason I come back is because the practitioners are truly professional and they know what they are doing period.
Wonderful ambiance while being luxuriously pampered - who could ask fir anything more?
