Separate from the Elephant Bar, the NoMad Bar is between the Elephant Bar and the NoMad Library. It even has its own entrance. Reminds me of a modern, swanky saloon, right down to the suspender-clad bartenders. It's definitely rowdy and loud here, but the drinks are what keep folks coming back. Great cocktails, both light and dark-spirited and even soft cocktails. Watching the bartenders do their magic is a treat. They can concoct perfectly executed and innovative cocktails without messing a beat, most of the time handling two or three at a time.

Recommend:
+Start Me Up (bourbon, rum, honey and orange bitters)
+Mott & Mulberry (rye whiskey, apple cider and lemon)
+Hair Trigger (rum, cucumber and lime)
+Yaya Colada (rum, bitters, pineapple and toasted coconut)
+Scotch Dumpling (brandy, scotch, lemon and egg white)

For soft cocktails:
+Gingered ale (ginger, lime, sparkling mineral water)
+Basil-fennel soda (basil, fennel, lemon, sparkling mineral water)

All light and dark-spirited cocktails are $16. NoMad Bar has two levels with booths and tables, top level overlooks first. Open till 2am on weekends. Good selection of food as well.

Service was good. We had a mix-up with reservation with another place called NoMad located in downtown. However they made a table for us nevertheless. Food was great. They have a nice library-like place in the bak of the restaurant (mostly for drinks) which is very cozy. Bathroom is pretty.

We had a lengthy, leisurely dinner here and the server humored us without ever making us feel rushed. The food was unique in my eyes, and very tasty. Also very pricey, but worth it for a once-in-a-while excursion.

The NoMad is not a hotel, it s an overwhelmingly wonderful experience. My wife and I recently stayed to celebrate our 25th and we were beyond impressed; we were simply blown away by every aspect of this gem. I won t want call The NoMad a hotel because it is so much more than simply staying someplace with a bed, bathroom, bar and dining room. It s all too simple to throw down a bunch of cash to impress in the hopes of satisfying your guests. With age comes experience and knowledge and in this vein The NoMad is an education in refinement and attention to detail while epitomizing class.

The better part of what makes this a wonderful place to be are the people who take care of you. Just as I don t want to call this a hotel I get the sense that one doesn t work here rather folks comfort their guests. Remember when staying someplace that wasn t your home made you feel like a long lost welcomed friend?

Your host is cooking for you and making sure that the individually crafted libations are nothing short of perfection. When we arrived our room wasn t ready so our hosts sent us to the lounge for a drink on their tab. I was perfectly happy to pay my way but a real host does not allow this. The drinks, prawns, and Swiss Cheese were just splendid and exactly what we needed after a ride in the car. And dinner? The chicken for two is the signature dish for a reason; you are being welcomed into chef s home. The piquant essence of the truffles and foie gras is simply sublime.

Speaking of which, thank you Melissa (Concierge Extraordinaire) for making our stay just exactly perfect. When she and I started corresponding I immediately felt her genuine warmth and grace. When we arrived she greeted us, gave my wife and I a big hug, and asked what else we needed as the true host she and The NoMad are.

No attention to detail is lost here meaning I don t need to talk about the towels, pillows, sheets, etc , at this point either you get it or you don t, you re a guest and the hosts make sure you are more comfortable than they are.

There is a magic show here too that I put in quotes because it is so much more than that; it is a truly trans-formative experience. Never in my life have I had the privilege to bear witness to something that defines stupefying while simultaneously defying the laws of the universe. Dan White is not only a spectacular performer but he also comes across as an incredibly nice guy. Tickets are a challenge but well worth the effort.

I love New York with all of my heart and this place just reiterates why at every level but none more important or special than being welcomed and embraced. Thank you, thank you, thank you, we look forward to our next visit.

This review is for the restaurant. Food and service was great. Had the Paradise City soft cocktail which was delicious. The duck was juicy and tender, similar in taste to Peking duck. The cherry dessert was great, though the sorbet portion wasn't to my taste. Love the decor of the place.

We caught up on reading in the library before Sunday brunch. It was uncrowded & a great place to pass some time. Highly recommended (particularly if you've exhausted working out of the Ace).

Gracious Staff, beautiful rooms that feel cozy and luxurious at the same time. Elegant but not snotty. Wonderful staff all around and small details like delicious coffee in the morning, efficient room service, and wonderful areas to hang out and enjoy a drink. My favorite hotel in NYC and I've stayed in many. Time and time again this is my favorite!

The room was amazing, the amenities were all I could ask for and the bars/restaurant inside were superb! The staff were also really, really friendly - I wish they were everywhere I went!!
The actual entrance is a little non-descript, I walked right by it everytime I was heading in, and once you're in the direction-to-go is a tad confusing but you get the hang of it quickly. My only desire is that the rooms be a little brighter when the curtains are closed (e.g. at night), but it wasn't more than a tiny nuisance.
I'm definitely staying here in the future!

Great place for amazing drinks. The bartenders know their stuff and can create things on the spot that are knockout drinks. Atmosphere is great: dark and posh. A few bars inside to choose from too. Highly recommended. (Never been there for anything but drinks.)

I went in to the hotel for drinks. The restaurant aspect of it is huge. It was pretty busy but was still able to get a cocktail quickly. The cocktail was very delicious and they know what they're doing. Would recommend for a drink or two.

Met up with some out-of-town friends at the bar. Great cocktails and atmosphere. Our friends were really enjoying their stay at the hotel. It's in a great location in Manhattan and the hotel appears to be top-notch.

I have visited the hotel a couple times now and have had a 5 star experience on each. I have only had drinks and apps at the bar so this review is based solely on that. Their drinks, although they take a while to make, are amazing. I was there on a Thursday around 430 so I beat the crowd but it took 5 minutes for our cocktails, I can't imagine how long it would take to once it gets crowded, which it does. The drinks were definitely on the higher priced side with martinis costing $18 and wines by the glass starting at $15. The apps came quickly and we're also devoured quickly. I highly recommend the pretzel (although it could have been warmer) as well as the fries. Service was extremely accommodating and friendly. The crowd was full of good looking hip people. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to get a dlfancy drink in a swanky hotel.

The atmosphere is amazing on the rooftop. I wish there were more heaters, as it started to get pretty cold (there was only one heater not near our table). I have been the nomad in the past and they changed how the foie gras chicken was presented. They used to bring the full chicken out first, and then carve it and bring some of the chicken by itself and some of it served as sides with other ingredients. I was disappointed that this changed, as we received the chicken precarved on two plates. I thought this was not ideal. I m not sure why the dark meat was not served on the same plate, as it came with the same sauces or why it wasn t served in a more creative way on the second plate. Overall, I love the nomad but it was sad to see these small touches misses.

The Nomad is a great opportunity to experience Daniel Humm's cuisine at a lower price point than Eleven Madison. The decor is stunning, with glass ceiling opening up the room to the stars, and a very elegant dining area. The ambience is very classic and old fashioned, and the service is impeccable. The clientele is varied, and although the space feels very high end, it is a relaxed atmosphere. The food itself is well presented, with great textures and flavors. Highlights include the gentle, smooth crab tagliatelle, and a cauliflower dish containing crunchy marcona almonds and fruit. Their Milk & Honey Dessert is a light, delicious, surprising end to the meal, and they have an impressive selection of high quality teas. One of their signature dishes is the roast chicken with foie gras, which I did not try. The Butternut squash dish was disappointing when I tried it, because the piece of butternut we received was not sweet enough to balance out the other more acidic flavors in the dish. Overall, a very refreshing take on old New York, with an inventive menu.
