I went for dinner and dessert. They had a great selection of drinks and their wait staff was extremely accommodating and friendly

Nice atmosphere. Food was interesting. A place to drink and hang out, but not a foodie s place.

I thought the beef marrow on the menu was actual bone marrow but out comes two tiny beef medallion slices for $40. Tastes like nicer cafeteria beef. Sigh...

Truly love the vibe at The Nomad. The food, drink and service are superb. For dinner, no matter how bored you are of fowl, do not miss the chicken with truffles for two. Incredible. For lunch, the salads, scallops and the chicken burger are terrific. Mixed drinks are delightfully inventive and delicious. The wait staff are pros. They are interested in you, but will leave you alone if that's what you would like. The setting is perfect -- the bar, the library and the 3 dining rooms -- feel like extravagant drawing rooms. I come here often, and totally, completely appreciate it. (Yes, I'm gushing on this place. If you read my other reviews you will see I call it like I see it!)

The waitstaff was incredible, very accommodating and sweet. The space itself - the library is not available after 4pm unless you're a hotel guest, and you're not allowed to sit unless you're having full dinner service. So despite how regal (e.g. pricey) and beautiful the bar is, itself, it is not a truly welcome environment unless you're a guest or are willing to fork out a small fortune for food you could get in a much more ambienced setting.

Our room was larger than other rooms we have experienced in Europe and very modern. The staff provided excellent customer service and all spoke English making it a easy to communicate

This place is outstanding for both dinner and brunch service. Make sure you get a view of a cocktail in their bar or library room before your meal.

Pretty good bar area to meet people and relax after work. Drinks are good and not obscenely priced. Pretty professional! Some table service in the bar area would've been nice, but I guess that becomes available later in the evening.

Very stylish hotel and attention to detail! Staff are friendly and easy to talk to. The rooms were on the pricier side but I think location and room make up for it!

Disappointing end of a nice stay.
We had a great stay until the last day. After spending a full week in the hotel, we were not welcome anymore in the library bar to wait for an hour before taxi would to take us to the airport as we were no longer guests of the hotel. Very disappointing and guest unfriendly and not something I would have expected for a hotel of this rating. No next time for us.

The hotel is beautiful inside. I went to the bar area with a group of friends and ordered drinks and food. The burger is out of this world! Very good service overall, would go again, and highly recommend.

Beautiful rooms, food was good but on the smaller side. Coffee brew is on the sour side. Great date spot. Not so much if you are actually hungry for brunch. Drinks are nice and strong though.

Tried making a reservation for 1 night on a Wednesday because the next morning I had a meeting at the Nomad at 10am and I am from out of town. They wouldn't let me reserve only 1 night. I would understand the 2 night minimum on a weekend.... but really, midweek? Way too cool for school.

Incredibly rareified atmosphere, all about the ambiance and the quality of service. While the prices in the bar are astonishingly high, it's worth a very occasional visit just to remind oneself of how good things would be were one very wealthy.

Excellent food, great ambiance, and varied, delicious cocktails sure to suit whatever kind of mood you might be in. The chicken/foie gras/truffle burger is pure decadence on a bun, and tastes exactly as good as it sounds. The fries are worth of a callout as well -- shoestring, perfectly crispy, fried and seasoned with bits of rosemary. The cocktails are impeccable -- I can vouch for the Rare Pear and the New York Sour.

It gets busy here, so occasionally you may have to wait a bit for a table or a server. Also not the most affordable joint in town, so be aware of that going in.

Very courteous service, clean and comfortable room, and the bar were top-notch. I would definitely stay here again on my next overnight to NYC.

The Library out the back is great for a quieter late night drink

The library bar is super cool, a very hip spot with an excellent ambiance. The cocktails were excellent. It can be kind of hard to flag down a server, but once you get one they'll take good care of you and bring things out quickly.

LUNCH was terrific. Comfortable room even though tables are lined up there is enough space to talk......sort of.......don't discuss mergers. Service is excellent. Most important, the menu is interesting and the foods sensational.

The main Nomad restaurant is one of my favorite places in NYC, so was really looking forward to the bar. On the upside, the food and service were very good.

On the downside, its really horribly overpriced for what it is, the waiting area downstairs is painfully loud, and the decor is pretty tragic. The dark wood panelling concept is fine, but both the flooring and walls are made of laminate and the whole place looks cheap, fake and tacky. Disappointing.

Went with a friend and had a cocktail to start off the dinner: our waiter was super knowledgeable with respect to spirits and mixology, and we really enjoyed our cocktails. We went for some great scotch olives, followed by their famous chicken for two, although it left me a little underwhelmed. Dulcis in fundo, I ordered milk&honey and I can't say it's my favorite dessert, although very interesting and delicate.

There are 3 bars in the hotel. The nomad bar has great drinks and the burger and fries were awesome. The chicken pot pie was very tasty but overpriced.

The chicken was delectable, as advertised - and the cocktails were a solid A+. But I honestly expected the cook on the chicken to be a little better, and the broccoli dish was a fairly sad affair.

We attended a social event on the rooftop. It was beautiful. The food was good but very limited selection available. The adults could choose salad or fish. The kids could choose fried chicken or buttered pasta, both of which looked delicious, and the kids were all happy Again the location was awesome.

If you're hip, this is the hotel for you. Velvet curtains, old time feel, a maze of bars and restaurants. Bonus, they have gluten free bread (for those of us with allergies) and very knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend for lunch, or a stay while you're in the city.

One of my favorites restaurants in the city. Service is outstanding. Forgot the name of our waiter but he was very tall, very kind, knowledgeable, and professional. Came here for a special occasion one time and was given their specialty home made chocolate bar. Such a sweet surprise! Phenomenal cocktail list, whimsical purple bread, great chicken entree. The ambience is dark, mysterious, intellectual, sexy but never feels overly pretentious. Need to come back and dine at the bar where they serve chicken pot pie and a burger that is supposed to be delicious.

Stopped in for a post-lunch cocktail, and the quality continues to be among the best in the city.

Had the most amazing stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary the room and hotel itself was awesome. Hotel staff took care of us (celebratory bottle which was so lovely) - plus bed, bowl and treats for our dog that we brought along. We live in the city and can t wait to be back for our next night away.

Had a corporate party on the rooftop. Great views (straight shot to empire State building) and great food. Definitely recommend.

Chicken for two at the Nomad is a must try for a local New Yorker. You've already heard of it, now give it a try.

My favorite place in NYC and I'm a New York native. Best scotch cocktail and the chicken for two is the best chicken I've had in my life.

Company party there was great. Friendly staff, excellent cocktails and a nice variety of delicious offerings.

Did not stay at the hotel, but ate in the restaurant. Had the roasted chicken. I can die a happy person now...

Beautiful decor in the bar, great service, bit pricey but worth it.

Efficient and friendly check-in. Spacious room. Lovely (and a bit old school, which I love) bathroom. Housekeeping delivered my request of a full-size ironing board within 15 minutes, which is much appreciated. I always consider The Nomad when I travel to NYC, but often cannot stay there as prices can be a bit high. When I can, I often do.

Calling this bar a "hotel bar" is doing this place a disservice. The staff was extremely kind and the drinks were phenomenal!
