Walk in straight off Trafalgar Square for a huge dollop of culture.
Lots of amazing art and a number of famous paintings, among others from the 13th to the 20th centuries. Free admission for everyone.
Has good WiFi throughout the building. Ample comfortable seating in every part of the Gallery. Great visit.
If u ar an Art lover. .. then it must be one of ur destination.
So pleased to hear its opening Friday. Just booked my slot for next week. Can t wait.
Major collection of beautiful paintings by many of the greats like Turner, Picasso and Monet - not just portraits. Free to enter but you are encouraged to donate. Metal detectors are being used as you go in, but you can then carry your bag around the museum with you (if it is under a specific size). There is also a cloak on for a small fee.
It is the best place to bring your children. They can see the real arts.
Fascinating Place to visit, when ever one visits London. Excellent collection of paintings
Went to see the Monet and Architecture exhibition. Very good.
Went for the Monet exhibition, superbly assembled collection from around the globe. We'll worth the ticket price for this one off opportunity. Half hour timed slots worked well.
The exhibitions are very good but most of the times the place is very crowded. Especially during the weekend. This is to do with the central location and the exposure to Trafalgar Square.
Lots of beautiful artwork from the artists we all hear about. Situated in a populated but similarly beautiful area, it can get crowded but it's worth it for the views.
A treasure. If you want the children's activities be advised to arrive 10ish. Have children's trail printed out just in case activity places are taken.
Absolutely love the National Gallery with the hundred of paintings from different period. You can easily spend hours here without realising it. I visited the gallery twice and didn't manage to finish half of the exhibitions.
Was quite fun seeing a lot of history through the historical pieces they have here. The building is set up in a way to allow people to wander where they want and less through a set viewing, which helps keep things from feeling too crowded. Lots of religious art, but that is to be expected with any historical gallery. And if you really have no interest in that type of art you can easily avoid it.
Very good place to visit! Entry is free to most of the gallery. The staff are very freindly! Would defiently reccomend for tourists!
Stunning collection. Great place to visit, even for 1/2 hour. Go and see 1 painting!
This is a must-see place. The Van Gogh paintings are amazing, but they have also more impressionism artists
There's a lot to see. Take at least 3 hours to enjoy your visit...and, it's free.
Extraordinary to discover a masterpiece around every corner
Impressive collections of famous paintings. Loved Canaletto
Had a fantastic time, the paintings were amazing, some very interesting and famous pictures on loan to the gallery, one of the paintings was over four hundred years old so beautiful go it's worth the day out and it is free to go into....
Must visit for art lovers. architecture also awesome .
A good collection of impressionists - Renoir, Pissaro, Van Gogh, exhibition of Degas works, and a lot of other masterpieces of many famous artists. Be prepared to spend around 4 to 5 hours to cover the whole exhibition.
Liked the impressionist section! Of course you can find one of the widest variety of paintings from 1200:-)
Haven't had a chance to enter the gallery, but the view from the front of the building towards the Big Ben is magnificent.
Probably my favourite place to visit in Old London Town..
I have spent many many (MANY) happy hours wiled away in the halls of this most magnificent building, which contains, in my humble opinion, the greatest collection of (free to see) Art in the entire World.
i<3NG
enormous space to admire art and get a respite from trafalgar square
Not my cup of tea, the area is massively congested with a lot of rubbish around and there s a lot of homeless people on the streets with dogs, we were told by national rail a lot of these people were scammers trying to guilt trip using animals so be aware
Impressive. Great London's place to visit. Recommended!
Huge amount of paintings with very famous works also. You can easily stay here a day if youre interested in paintings. We just walked through and took us about 2 hours.
Great to browse with some brilliant pieces. Nice to dip in and out of.
Fantastic Gauguin exhibition. The staff are all really nice and not too intrusive but ready to help. Great to see the real things. Lots of Rembrandt, impressionists and neo - impressionists, which was especially exciting for me. There are also these awesome portable chairs you can carry with you! Those are worth grabbing!!!
Phenomenal. Enormous, beautiful rooms and beautiful paintings. Easy to stumble on a van Gogh or Monet. And it's free! Wonderful place, I will absolutely go back again.
I love this place. When I was a student I spent so many evenings on this museum, now as an adult and as a tourist it's always a must, I love that it's free.
Whenever I'm nearby I pop in for 10 mins or longer and visit one of my favourite rooms.
So many beautiful masterpieces in one place is a must see when visting London
The National Gallery is a must-see for art lovers. It is home to many famous pieces of artwork, dating back to the Renaissance period. It also boasts original work from Cezanne, Monet, Manet, van Gogh, Degas and more. There are also special exhibitions which change on a regular basis.
Always a great way to spend a day. Shame so many other people want to too!
It doesn t get much better than the National Gallery. I visited 3 times while in London to try to do it justice. Every corner you turn you re confronted by another staggering work. It s a must see museum.
Amazing building where the ceiling is just as wonderful as the art.
Go here to see magnificent artwork. It is again free. Briljant place and beautiful decor.
Come watch all the school kids waddling around too.
Definitely worth a visit.
I really enjoyed visiting there and i'm not a huge art fan. The place look amazing. There are daily free guided tours which can be useful if you looking for some general culture experience.
The National Gallery is one of the best art museums in the world and a must visit! There is no admission fees but you can donate on your way out if you want to.
Amazing painting from world famous painters throughout history
Although the heading is the National Gallery the visit was actually to the National Portrait Gallery.
Always a great choice for spending time with friends visiting
2.5-3 h worth spending. Spectacular paintings from the 1300's until the 1930's
Very nice selection of things to see. Recommended to anyone interested in history.
Hot. They need to fix the aircon. Otherwise it is incredible.
So much great art and all for free! It usually packed with tourists but you could spend days in here.
Outstanding collection of artists. Well worth a visit.
Lots of collections throughout the era. You will be able to find your own favorite ones.
Post lockdown date night Friday. Do it! You know you want to. You'll have the place mostly to yourselves.
Was a nice walk around location. Didnt get a chance to see the paid exhibit though.
This is a national treasure that contains an amazing collection of artwork. Everyone should see it!
Great place to visit a FREE museum with thousands of paintings from all the periods of British History different styles a truely impressive gallery of priceless works of art situated next to Trafalgar Square a trip to this gallery is a must especially anyone studying Art
One of my favourite places in London. Wonderful place to visit for the whole family
Great museum, with an impressive collection of famous artist's exhibits. Free, like most big museums in London. (Donations welcome)
One of my favorite museums in the world... and entrance is FREE... (you are requested to donate, but it is voluntary). I especially liked Van Gogh "Sunflowers" and other great Impressionists, and also Da Vinci, and Van Eyck. A marvellous museum.
Always a wonderful place. The making of a masterpiece too expensive for what it us
