I am no art expert, but this museum is definitely the most memorable part of my New York trip. It was very interesting to see the artwork that many talented and creative artists have made throughout modern history. The museum sports a very large collection of works from the very well know to the obacure. It was very much worth the time and money to visit this museum.

Amazing collection of the works everyone knows about. Just wish there were more! Also, some artworks mentioned on its website we're nowhere to be found in the galleries. Was pretty disappointed.

From our founding in 1929 to the current reimagination of the Museum, MoMA has grown from a bold experiment to New York s destination for modern and contemporary art. Working with architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler, our continued evolution ensures that we always present the most innovative art and meet the changing needs of today s audiences.

With 30% more gallery space, it present the true breadth of of collection, highlighting the most resonant and innovative art, from early masterpieces to cutting-edge works. Across three expanded floors of displays, you ll discover modern and contemporary art s many stories, shifting histories, and approaches from around the world.

A state-of-the art studio and performance center at the heart of the galleries supports a broad range of experimental programming. With new commissions, live performance, dance, music, sound works, the spoken word, and artist residencies, this unique space will situate live and time-based artworks as an integral part of the collection galleries, emphasizing the central role of this work within the history of modern and contemporary art.

Our visit to the MoMA was as expected. There were not that many people in the spring cold weather. Upon entering, they have a coat checking service that was very convenient and high tech so you can check your coats and backpacks (they don't allow to enter with large backpacks). Their brochure is not that helpful for a new visitor like us, because it didn't offer advise what to see. There were only two tours a day, so check in advance if you wish to take one. We checked the audio guides with suggestions to visit Level 5 and 3 for a 2 hr visit. We didn't miss our favorites Van Gogh Starry Night, Picasso Ladies of Avignon, and modernist artists. They allow no-flash photography.

Great place to view modern art! Vincent Van Gogh s Starry Night is also present here. You can view art, and many common inventions! I, myself, found this art piece very interesting and funny.

This is a great place to go on a rainy day in the city. The exhibitions are always changing and the permanent ones are extraordinary.

Helpful tip: If there's a really popular exhibit (eg. Rain Room) get there super early!! Like way before they even open up. We tried to see the Rain Room twice before the end of the run but got turned away both times due to the exhibit reaching maximum capacity. The lady at the gate said people started lining up around 5am!!

Me and my daughter had a wonderful time. We saw amazing art works and created some of our own. Downstairs in the children research center. The staff were very helpful and the audio tour throughout the whole building was very informative. We learned so much.

Absolutely incredible. Great art throughout that is well presented. Headsets were free and worth getting although you may not agree with some of the interpretations. We were there 5 hours and had to pick up the pace to get through. Recommend starting at the top floor.

Nice museum for modern art... Beware that it is the opposite of kids friendly, they guards are watching kids likely potential bombs and ask you to old their hands at all time, otherwise they will shout a 'SIR! YOUR KID! next time you are out'. To open the mind of kids to art, there is better to do I believe

Great variety of art from many different artists. A majority of the art is abstract though which was disappointing for me. I was hoping to see a more balanced display of different kinds of art. Although the imbalance isn't that bad.

If you live any where near the city do yourself a favor and buy a membership. Then go and enjoy the quiet views mornings. This place get quite crowded at times.

I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THE COURSERA OFFERING "FASHION AS DESIGN." I DISCOVERED THE PAST IS THE FUTURE, WHEN IT COMES TO STYLE. DESIGN CAN BE BOTH TIMELY AND TIMELESS. ICONIC FASHION BECOMES CONVENTIONAL STYLE. THE VIDEOS INCLUDED A VERY DIVERSE SELECTION OF TOPICS. I NOW REALIZE THAT E-COMMERCE MAKES OUR GLOBAL WORLD FEEL LIKE AN AUTHENTIC COMMUNITY. RESOURCES AND TALENT COINCIDE WITH THE FASHIONS OF OUR TIME.

I thought this one would be smaller than the LA one; I was wrong, this place is huge!

Six stories and each floor has its own time period and different galleries. Couple days before Christmas, the museum was extremely crowded but I still enjoyed it a lot!

No need to recommend it... It is just a place for art lovers... Seeing Van Gogh's Starry Night, Monet's Water Lilies, Picasso's Mandolin, Matisse's Bathers and others under one roof is simply exhilarating and emotional too. Love the installations of various modern artist. It's eye-opening and sense-challenging too. The shop carries many cool but rather expensive stuff. Worth a visit.

I always love going to the MoMA because you get the consistent favorites and then you get surprised by the new pieces that they bring in. Those pieces are relevant to what is currently occuring in the world but also makes us question subjective experiences and what is art?. It may seem daunting to those with minimal experience with art since some of it is obscure but a large majority of the pieces come with a description. My advice look up some art movements before coming to make the most of your experience.

Always show the best of modern art. Great place to hangout and take pictures. Good spot for dates or meeting new people. Getting the membership is highly located. Conveniently located near 53rdst station in midtown, which allows you to access the museum easily.

Awesome art museum. You can spend all day there and still not see everything on display. I love going and it is worth the price for admission. If you are local the membership would be worth it as you can get more out of it and return often for quick trips.

Fantastic collection of modern art from all of the greats, plus interesting rotating exhibitions and regular live music in their sculpture garden in the summer. Definitely gets crowded on the weekends, so go at an "off" time if you want to enjoy the serenity of the space and art.

An unparalleled collection presented with exquisite taste in an excellent environment that provides a perfect setting for the master pieces that are contained within. Allow yourself at least 4 hours to tour the collection.

Amazing place. I am not a particularly artistic person but the art here really makes you think and gives you some great ideas. If you really wanna absorb it, I would suggest that you come alone. Or maybe with just one more person who is also very interested in absorbing the art. I saw multiple people who came in groups, and just walked right through the museum without really taking the time to really understand the art.

One of my fav modern art museums so far. Their collection is vast, with a great variety. I especially enjoyed the architecture stuff weaved into the more traditional arts, like paintings and sculptures.

The art exhibits and galleries here are amazing. I fell in love with their artworks. The place is well-maintained and there are lots of visitors during weekend. I will definitely go back here.

Such a nice collection of modern art, including Picasso, Matisse, Pollock, Dali, Monet and Van Gough. This place is definitely worth the visit. Plan on a couple of hours at least. In June 2019 they will temporarily close for an expansion. They will reopen October 2019 with an additional 31,000 square feet of museum! So glad we visited.

Highly recommend the "Surrounds" installation they have on the top floor. Really thoughtfully laid out and amazing art. I went last Sunday morning and it was pretty crowded but not prohibitively so.

Moma is a must stop when in NYC. The volume of famous artworks you will get to see is breathtaking. The layout is good, so that even in crowds it is manageable to havr a good experience.
The restaurant and gift shop are unrivalled.

Lots of tourists. Was told I must check my bag then was told that I didn't have to check my bag. Tried to enter and one security guy with Elvis glasses said I couldn't enter because I didn't check my bag, so I went to the other entrance and was let in without a problem. Come on, get your stuff together. If you require people to check their bags, set up a system that doesn't leave people waiting for more than 1 hour in the coat check line. Exhibits on the upper floor was good but declined in quality as you moved down to lower floors.

New York Icon, not to be missed on a visit. After their recent expansion, it's so big that it's easy to get lost here, which is good because I think that is how this place should be enjoyed. The interesting thing to me personally is that a lot of the modern art being exhibited is actually older than me, and I am not a spring chicken anymore.

Great place to go if you like modern art. There are a few well known paintings and pieces of art as well for those who are only interested in that. I would suggest to go there on a Friday afternoon because it is free. Otherwise the entrance goes from $14 to $25.

Interesting space. The building drives you to see a bunch if things you might not be a fan off but the stars if the show draw you to the 5 floor. I liked the experience overall. It got a little crowded around Stary Night but that is to be expected. All and all it is a pretty good place.

MoMA is changing for better! More inclusive and diverse now. The dialogue depicting a Chinese female artist firing bullets to her own installation is probably the most shocking and moving artwork for me in the new MoMA. I never heard of this woman artist before! But the originality, the bravery and emotional roller coaster of the creating this work is no lesser than any of Picasso s work!! Check it out and find out why!

This was a rather impressive museum even though much of the art is not art I typically enjoy. They have a great room highlighting Monet and seeing "The Starry Night" was quite great. The museum building is nice but undergoing some major renovations. The exhibits are spread across five levels, there are escalators and elevators for use. Overall this was a neat museum with some special pieces. It is definitely worth the visit.

Great place.

Great place.

I'm in love with this museum. The museum is really packed with paintings and other art objects of different times and art directions but space is organized so well that you don't feel overwhelmed with all that art. It was the first museum in my life where I felt immersed but not "eaten" by art (comparing to my visits to Louvre or Prado). I really recommend to visit MoMA.
