A classic NYC experience. Lots of good stuff here and the name speaks for itself. The museum design store is also fun and the cafe is famous, too. Only problem is that it gets too busy sometimes.

I mean, it's not the Tate Modern, but highly recommend a visit. A great mix of old and new art, with stunning old masters mixed with modern masterpiece. Take a moment in the garden, stillness in the heart of a busy city.

An amazing museum to visit. There are a lot of very famous pieces of artwork there and it is definitely a full day trip. The line to get in may be a little long at times but it is definitely worth it because they have every different genre of art. Not just modern art. You can also just preorder your tickets online to skip out on the line. It's a very fun place and museum to go for the day and I would recommend it.

Recently remodeled, I admit I cannot see the changes. The idea of glass walls between portions of the floors is unique among public spaces-whether this adds conceptual dimension is arguable. Viewing boxes to the outside world was popular when I visited, these black-glass forms were always crowded. The placing and spacing of iconic pieces has always been a strong point with MOMA, I vote for even more juxtaposition of pics from different periods. Part of our everyday cultural religion is contained here, take some time to visit and review!

The collections are amazing, really a wonderful selection of masterpieces. The air conditioning in the museum is though just crazy and really oblige you to run crossing the rooms. I suggest to wear warm clothes in order to appreciate the visite without freezing.

One of the best museums in the entire world. It's easy to spend hours here, and even the most casual art fan will have no trouble recognizing the most famous works on display. It truly is a treasure trove and a must visit when in NYC.

Superb! I stopped to ask a couple of ladies (who I believe were volunteers) about a particular artist whose work I wanted to see. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. They were both wearing VERY funky glasses.
Wonderful art - around every corner I was pleasantly surprised to find original artworks which I recognised only from reproductions.
The audio guide was good, although I thought it was aimed at a demographic with quite a low reading age.

Hands down one of the best museums I have been to and a must see for Modern Art. Such a large and vast range of works and worth the visit just to see Starry Night which is much larger in person. The temporary exhibition of Francis Picabia was also another highlight.

You need one full day for visiting the entire museum (maybe even more). If you like contemporary art, this place is awesome for you... if not, maybe you will feel disappointed looking at some paintings and sculptures!

I'm sorry MoMA, I really want to love you :/ MoMA is like Tate Modern in London, I would argue, where the hype doesn't quite translate into real substance. I much prefer the MET, Guggenheim, and other smaller museums.

Great place to appreciate a plethora of artists with Friday nights after 4pm being free admission. Crowds are not for everyone but the size and scope of the collection more then makes up for it.

One of my favorite museums in the city. A good variety of exhibits should provide enough to entertain a variety of interest. At a recent trip, in just a few hours, got to enjoy exhibits on architecture, video games, film and of course paintings.

Well put together museum. Had many classical pieces for big time artists that I didn't know were housed here.

Have been to Prado, Piscasso's museum in Malaga and MoMA in SF in past year. This stood up perfectly well.

Place was packed due to Saturday afternoon, but staff was trained well enough to handle masses.

Wish I hadn't put a time restraint on myself. So much to see. Will be back.

My mother asked me if a robbery had taken place because the art was missing. If you are not an art aficionado or interested in the abstract or non-classical art, then I would only come on Fridays when admission is free. The general lack of indoor seating is understandable - it is NYC - but people mistook an art piece for a chic looking bench.

Great building. Friday night is free which is awesome (but unsurprisingly super busy).

My favourite piece was this contemporary semi trailer parked out front with a Dale's Pale Ale sign, very Andy Warhol indeed.

Awesome museum, and definitely worth it. Some companies in New York have company memberships, and their guests are discounted, so when I went with a friend from D.E. Shaw, I got in for just $5.

Starry Night is cool, but there are a lot of really fantastic pieces and exhibitions that come and go. When I was there there was a really cool architecture exhibit, and also a collection of small, colorful building models.

I think this is a must-see for anyone visiting New York City. The museum is very well-curated and has some wonderful exhibitions. I've come here one time before five years ago and there were many new exhibitions so it is worth visiting several times.

It has some amazing masterpieces - my favorites are Van Gogh's Starry Night and The Olive Trees. Both are magnificient pieces.

The most important too I can give is that the museum is free on Fridays from 4:00 to 8:00 thanks to UNIQLO. I always go on a Friday when in New York and it is always worth it.

As with most museums we visited, the MoMA was extremely beautiful. The exhibitis are displayed very nicely, so that even if there is a crowd taking pictures you can still get to see it.
Very interesting artwork displayed, especially from newer artists which is always important.
Tip: go on a Friday between 4-8 p.m. It will be crowded, but if you're there before 5 it'll still be ok to move around freely

A museuem I could live in! It really transports you to the art that the streets hide, in this little building exist the expressions of artist who felt something so we can feel something - grateful and will be back again

Museum was free for the day I went... although I can appreciate free things, this only made the museum uncomfortably crowded and longer to get around. They should have limited the amount of entries at once.

Don t get me wrong, this is a great museum. But they have put all the very famous artists work on floor 5 (Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso) and you can barely walk on that floor there are so many people. We were told to wait to go up to that floor because it was at full capacity. The art is very nice, though. And they have a nice style variation. Just a few spacing problems, that is all!

Cool art museum with some interesting exhibits. Packed with people trying to take pictures, which was annoying. The bummer was that the museum was under extensive renovation and expansion when I visited though hence it seems like the selection were limited.

The remodel made this great museum even greater. All the big names in modern art are here: Picasso, Cezanne, Van Gogh, Brancusi, etc. Classes for sketching are sometimes available here if you buy a ticket. Definitely worth it to become a member as well!

Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed by MoMA. For a $25 entry, the museum is actually not that big, and your experience will depend a lot on the exhibits they choose to have on when you go. If you only go to one art gallery in NYC, I'd recommend the Met.

Bring your student ID to get a $14 entrance fee Vs. $25 full price. The place has 7 floors (layers of hell). Nothing makes sense here and the floor layout is more confusing than IKEA. Prepare to spend at least 3 hours wandering the halls of the various preschool art projects and unlike IKEA, the meatballs in the cafeteria are not cheap. Overall, you are better off going to IKEA.

Of all the art museums in New York this has the most consistently good exhibitions. If they are showing an artist you go and see it - you won t be disappointed. Large a spacious building great exhibits the new wing is fabulous so much more space to show their perminate collection and these cubes which weigh 4 tons each

This was my second time visiting MoMA, and I'm not sure why, but I remember I wasn't too impressed with it the first time. It might have been the exhibits they had when I last went. I decided to give it another chance and this time around, I was blown away. I spent 3 hours here alone and was absorbed in everything the museum had to offer. One floor was closed for a new exhibit that was being built, but that didn't take away from everything else. I enjoyed the MoMA more than I expected!

Eh, too crowded and two exhibits plus the sculpture garden were closed. Best part of the museum was the paintings. Picasso, Klempt, Matisse, and Degas are all there. I guess I'm just not a fan of modern art. Would have rather spent another day at the Met.

Great museum, especially if you can go for one of the free days. Very vast and interactive art, the kind you can get really close to. I love MoMa because you can see very interesting exhibits not shown anywhere else. Location is great and relatively easy to get to.
