What a great afternoon spent here. Many rooms and a great flow to the Museum. Tip, if going on a Friday get settled before people turn up for the late night opening and make sure you get the lift to the top. Then it is easy to get the escalator down while you see the sheer number of people heading up. Tip, check your bag and coat it's going to make your visit more relaxing.

It s a little pricey at $25 a visit, if you re a new yorker I recommend getting a membership and soaking in one exhibit at a time. Plus, you can bring all your friends/guests/dates for $5.

I hope we were just unlucky as due to the rainy day at it was extremely crowded. Half of the expositions (floors) were closed. Yes there were quiet a few famous pieces but you could barely see or experience anything due to the crowd. The Met was so much better - 3 day ticket, far more space and art, less crowd.

MOMA is a must see for visitors and locals alike. One of the world's most recognized museums. Friday evenings free entrance its quite an experience to have hundreds of people parade the museum gallleries. If you are a true modern art lover this might not be the best weekday and time to enjoy the art as the enourmous crowd of people rush in and out, however its quite a magical social experience on its own.

I was a little disappointed by the MoMa. It gives an overview of modern art, but not much more than that. Maybe I am spoiled, living in the Netherlands and being able to visit the van Gogh and the Stedelijk and many other musea whenever I want to see modern art.

It's not everyday you get to stand next to Starry Night by Van Gogh or a Picasso or Renoir painting. Some of these pieces are worth God knows a hundred million dollars each. Being that it's modern art some of it is--- well one man's art is another man's pile of trash. Saw some jaw-droppingly beautiful things though and the gift shop was interesting as well. I'm not the world's best photographer nor do I try to be so excuse my photos.

Best and most interesting cultural space in Tigre. You can miss all other touristic places, including the Puerto de Frutos which has lost all its original essence, but MAT is a MUST SEE!

Some of the art work is very well known stuff, some not so much. It's modern art so beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some of the metal sculptures were made from signs and farm implements, these looked like something an Iowa tornado had sucked up and spit out. They also had bubbling mud and a room with loud noises and videos. Again, eye of the beholder.

Terrific experience! Thoroughly enjoyed Tania Bruguera s exhibit especially after my limited travel in Cuba and visiting the prison. The suffering of the people by government is just WRONG. Anywhere anytime

We came here on a rainy day so it was really busy but we still really enjoyed our time here. I'd recommend purchasing tickets in advance so you don't need to wait in line.

Bags need to be carried on your front or in your hand so if you don't need one I'd suggest not bringing one with you as it's a hassle carrying it around while trying to look at the beautiful artwork.

What a great museum! Friendly staff and great exhibits. It s free Friday from 4-8pm. If you go when it s free it will most likely be very crowded. You buy drinks in the garden outside. Hope this helps!

Their permanent collection is dazzling. Not as huge as the MMoA or London's National Gallery but lean and mean. They might show just one Rothko, one Pollock, one Hopper, one Chagall, one Monet, or one Van Gogh but the one piece they show will be mesmerizing. Tons of visitors in August.

This museum is expensive 50$ for my husband and myself combined. Its not free or cheap, its perhaps the MOST expensive museum entrance fee we ve paid. Also there is no parking, unless you can find some on the street. Good luck with that In NYC especially in this part of NYC otherwise just use the overpriced parking lot across the street from the museum. Anyway:
This museum is a treasure trove, Lots of Van Goghs, a room full of Jackson Pollocks on the 5th. Floor, I Think. Not very many Andy Warhols. Lots of Claude Monet s a massive water lilies. Not better then the one at TATE Modern in London but still nice. The security guards are Sooooo annoying at this museum they wont let you get close to anything take videos or close pictures. Completely different then TATE modern in London, At TATE they just watch you and let you be. As long as you don t to touch anything they don t care at TATE but here, its another story. You have to ignore the Annoying security guards, otherwise they will ruin your viewing time. But Definitely worth going for sure, its a MUST if you re an art lover! The layout is super easy to navigate too! The museum workers are all very nice and helpful minus the annoying security guards who hate their jobs clearly. The security guards don t understand art. You HAVE TO GET CLOSE to look at Van Goghs how else can you admire the layers of impasto. One security guard wouldn t shut his mouth while I was looking at Starry night! I had to see it close up, but the simpleton kept ruining my viewing experience running his mouth. I understand its a popular one and I m sure some idiot out there touched Starry night at some point. But WOW why don t they just put a Camera above them and prosecute the trouble makers. Let the art lovers be and don t ruin their view experience! The security guards are incredibly annoying at MOMA!

The building is beautifully designed. Be sure to explore the outdoor garden with many interesting sculptures. It's a good place to see both classic modern art pieces (5th floor) and new exhibitions. MoMA stores have cool products with price tags that make you think twice before buying.

If you want to be able to enjoy looking at artworks go there as soon as 9:30 am. Go later, and that's no longer a possibility. Crammed up so terribly after 10, 10:30 that it's almost impossible to walk freely between galleries and enjoy absolutely amazing works that almost all have made art history compendiums.

My second favorite in NY after the Met and the store is where I spend my budget for the trip. Calendars, mouse pads, lamps and those wacky gadgets that work little wonders in our home are all here. Check them out online too!

Unlike some museums, the Modern is seldom uncrowded. On the other hand the exhibits are well mounted and mostly provocative. Which of course is often the point of modern art, so when it strays over the line to the frivolously shocking it's time to move on before the eyes glaze over. I had the good fortune on one visit to tag along behind a lecturer of some sort who couldn't keep track of her audience but knew and explained her material very well. Lovely building; sometimes a confusing layout but around every corner there's a surprise; usually a good one.

This museum is filled with pieces from the most varied periods and artistic tendencies. I was touched by the exhibition with Tarsila do Amaral pieces, she was an extraordinary Brazilian woman. I also loved the collection of photographs.

MoMA is great. The audio guide has serious battery issue. Out of three of us there were 4 issues related to audio guide and none of us got more than an hour of battery. They use iPod touch. I am not the person who can appreciate the art in true sense. Still, I liked many pieces and could relate to some of them.

Every time it's a new experience. The permanente collection is magnificent. This time I went to MET for the Exibition A Monumental Journey in february 2018. And yes, also the exibition (early French daguerreotypes) was Monumental an foundamental for peoples find of these amazing photographic objects. The Perfect readability of plates costs two pound of charme (my opinion, I know I'm a daguerreotype maniac... )

For any visitors it's a must see. Permanent exhibitions as well as rotating pieces are great to view alone or in a small group. Can get crowded on free Fridays, so IMO it's well worth paying on a lower traffic day/time.

Wow! So much to see, and not enough time to see it all. And it was crowded... Friday night from 4-8pm is free admittance. We arrived at 5.30 and it was busy! So we focused on just one floor, the fifth floor, containing the art of the 1800s. Renoir, Rembrandt, Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet, just to name a few... We enjoyed it immensely!

This museum was pretty mediocre compared to what New York has to offer as a whole. I was expecting much more from the museum other than blobs of paint and empty canvases, literally. The only thing making it worthwhile was the surrealism level, lots of Picasso, Frida Khalo, and Dali. I think the MET will be better.

Super beautiful museum. I absolutely loved my trip here. We spent around 2 hours here, even though we would have spent all day if we were able to, but each exhibit is so unique and different from the next. It was a bit busy due to it being a weekend, but we were still able to enjoy each piece individually at our own pace. Well worth the money and time!

The Museum of Modern Art has finally re-opened after a series of renovations. I highly reccomend visiting and using the coat check to drop off any coats or bags. To feel light and free to walk along the endless floors of art. The best part for me was being able to get a an audio guide in the language I speak natively. I picked up an audio guide in Portugese and it made the experience much more personal. Being able to hear recodings of the artist and their perspective was like adding icing to the cake! The pieces by Freida are amazing especially with the audio music that they added.

In addition to be able to experience the museum in a much more interactive appreciation. It was powerful to enter the sculptural parts. The curiator put a lot of thought into using the space with more emphasis on the negative space. By creating a space that is more traditional to Salon Style French Art.

Come to the MoMA to appreciate the classics of Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, as well as contemporary artist.

I went on an exceedingly packed free night... there are a number of gems there, but I'm not sure I'd pay $25 for the adult ticket. One of my favorite parts, though was the garden / atrium area in the back. I could hang out there for hours.

Over touristic, can really kill the fun. Why, why would you want to take 100 pictures of the same thing from the same angle? Don
t you realize that when you do the exact same thing twice you will get the same results? Too much for me, and too much for a museum.

What can you really say about the MoMA...other than it is, itself, a work of art.

As an avid art lover, I was blown away by the overall experience. The exhibits are carefully planned and placed, creating a seamless flow for guests navigating their way through the massive structure.

Of course the Warhol pieces were close to my heart, but I was speechless when I found myself standing in front of Van Gogh's (original) Starry Night.

MoMA is a MUST for every single person who steps foot onto the lovely island of Manhattan.

I don't care if art "isn't your thing"...this place is a stunner and it is not to be missed. Feed your brain a little...you'll thank me later!

Your experience here will vary depending on the day of the week you visit and the time. Expect large crowds and a line around the block of you visit during a "free entry" event.

Opinions on the collection of art available are of a subjective nature, but the layout of each floor can be confusing with no real direction indicated in which to appreciate the displays, so be sure to inspect the sparsely distributed TVs that show what exhibits are being displayed where. Also grab the handout paper maps of the gallery.

There is a restaurant and a couple of no-tip cafes so you can grab a quick bite to eat as well.

The galleries are large, open, and suited for either self-guided browsing or following the audio or a guided tour. The quality of their collections is exemplary and will be enjoyable and educational for both the seasoned and the casual modern art visitor.

Free on Friday afternoons. Decent amount of art available to see, artists from all over the World like Picasso and Van Gogh and a lot others! Can be a bit crowded so you need to be patient. The building is also interesting and it has a nice garden to rest in a warm afternoon.
