Saw Adrian Piper's exhibit here. It was riveting! This exhibit reminded me that Art is such an effective medium to convey messages related to social activism. Genius seems insufficient when describing Mrs. Piper's work!

I'm a big abstract and modern art fan. This is a museum I continue to come to over and over again for free Friday nights. I saw the Warhol exhibition and loved it. I saw van goerthe as well. There are modern sculpture pieces that just make your head spin on a good way! I recommend it for all new yorker and visitors!

Wow, what a great experince. We spent 4 hours at museum and skipped 2 or 3 floors altogether. All of the famous artists are represented, and exhibits by artists we had not heard of were fantastic. If you get a chane to go, go.

I don't make it to MoMA as much as I would like to, but I have a lovely time every time I do go. With a superb collection of modernist art ranging from photographs to sculptures to paintings and drawings, and equally impressive exhibitions, there's a lot to see but you won't feel overwhelmed. Target Fridays provide free admission but it can get VERY crowded as the evening goes on, so if you're the type that values your personal space, I'd suggest skipping.

The new MOMA is better in so many ways, mostly more representation for women and people of color while still offering more than enough of the modernist masters. Plus, more seating in the large public spaces is much appreciated.

This place is for the art lovers and those interested in learning about art. It was so cool to see art works from the greats, those you heard of or studied about in school like Van Gogh, Basquiat, Warhol, Freida, Picaso, and more. It was amazing to me. I was like a small child discovering, exploring, and admiring. It was a pleasure to see and learn of artists I hadn't known as well. There was a live art performance while there. They offer student discounts as well and your pass is good to use for their partner museum as well. It was super clean in and out including the restrooms, there was ample areas to sit, there was staff in each area, security at each exit, garden art, photography and filmography on lower level, sculptures, art installations, and much more. I gave it 4 stars because although I know it is art, there were numerous amount of works more than I would imagine that had graphic genitalia which would prevent me from bringing my children there. I would love to share all the art with them, but then I would have to limit certain exhibits. There is a children art area there as well I believe.

I'm a big Eames fan. More than enough to quench my thirst.

Fun Salvador Dali exhibit & other Dada/ Cubism pieces.

The Van Gogh Starry Night painting was here, not at the Met.

Absolutely enthralled by the Good Design exhibit. Lots of decorative arts dating back from early 20th century to today.

Hands on stuff for kids, not terribly packed (like the Met) & doable in a few hours.

Fantastic collection; they have an especially good photography collection. For lunch head to the terrace on 5. Or for excellent coffee and fun interactive exhibits go to the coffee lounge on the 3rd floor.

Just by looking at the starry night from Van Gogh it deserves giving 5 stars. It's one of the most interesting museums in my opinion and the one you could be constantly going because they change a lot. NYU students get in the for free just by showing their NYU ID cards.

Been meaning to come here for a while now. I think it was totally worth it! Got to see some of the pieces I always read about or saw in picture. up close and personal, there is definitely a different sense of appreciation. Def worth a visit at least once! I like how each section has a theme and a small explaination of it so it ties the pieces together in context for you.

Looking forward to when MOMA reopens. Miss this incredible museum. The installations are staged brilliantly. The permanent collection is so well curated. Navigating the exhibition galleries is always effortless and the pace is to one's own rhythm. And of course, the terrace dining is special...soon to open its doors again, I hope...

Cool place. Although I find it odd that the Impressionists are here and not at the Met, I really enjoy this Museum. It's not overwhelmingly huge and you can do it in a couple of comfortable hours.

I love MoMa they always have interesting exhibits and tend to be worth it. It's very aggressive when you are there at closing, they force you out which is crazy, but completely understandable because people just don't listen to them.

Love this place! If I lived in NY, I would get a year-round membership. They have so many famous works of art and opportunities to learn more about them. Loved the design exhibition that was on.

Artistic taste can vary from person to person. That being said, I did not enjoy the majority of art here. I found a lot of it abstract, which is fine if you like that, but it is not for me. At around $20 a ticket I would not be paying to get in. Thankfully it was Free Friday, and after having to go and ask where the tickets where (after several groups of tourists like ourselves were led on a never ending search for supposedly free tickets) we found people handing them out inside. Begs the question, why they were asking anyone for tickets in the first place if it's free. Anyway, 2 stars are not only due to my taste in art but due to confusion over organising of free tickets, less art than I was expecting and high prices in the gift shop. I did enjoy seeing The Starry Night by Van Gogh.

Museum of Modern Art is love! It's elegant, classy and very inspirational. I love this place.

And it's clean here and also I love the fact that I am a LAGCC student and I can go here for free :]

I definitely don t like modern art, other than ending my experience at the Moma feeling happy and uplifting, I ended feeling disturbed and uneasy, the videos are specially disturbing, for me this is not what art is for. I did enjoy hearing the explanation and interpretation of the people around me about what they saw in a piece of black canvas, that was hilarious!

We drove into NYC & found parking directly across from the entrance. The MOMA is worth the trip! We purchased tickets online prior to our arrival so there was no waiting. It was super crowded due to it being a Saturday but the place is so big, there was plenty of space to maneuver & view the large range of artist work. We had a late lunch in the 5th floor cafe that was outstanding. Loved every moment of our day. We spent 4 hours there. Highly recommend.

Great place to go to when you're looking to the best of the best in modern contemporary art, or if you want to see art that changed the minds and perspectives of millions. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone but I really do wish people would stop bringing their loud children in. This is a museum, not a place for your children to play hide and seek and hop scotch. You could always take them down to Central Park for something like that. Other than that this place is amazing and absolutely worth the visit.

Fantastic experience. Free on Fridays which makes it absolutely worth even a short visit. So many approaches to what is art that almost everyone is certain to find something they like

LOVE THE MOMA. if you plan on going more than once or going with more than a few people invest in the annual membership. It pays for itself almost instantly. Guests are $5 with your membership and you don't have to wait in the crazy line.

Friday afternoons are particularly bad with tourists and the line will wrap back to 5th ave.

Friday between 4 and 8 access is free, the line is scary long at around 4 butbtou are through that in like 10 minutes, be sure not to take any bags with you or leave them at the designated counter, that's the longest line you'll be in(30-45 minutes). Once inside every piece of art feels like a must see and many of them would've individually been worth the wait. I highly reccomend a visit here!

Fine modern art. Works from Van Gogh and Picasso are in this musuem at the fifth floor. Some of the more modern basic works are not too impressive more black streaks on a white canvas but the older stuff is pretty impressive and outstanding.

Having a mild interest in fine art, it was interesting to browse throughout the dozens of rooms with hundreds if not more pieces and installations. To me, the installations far exceeded hung pieces.

However, the building is quite packed, which detracts a lot from the experience. Taking any kind of larger personal item with you including bags and coats is prohibited, so you'll need to check these items in to retrieve them back upon leaving. While I understand the importance of this precaution, it only adds another step to waiting around.

If memory serves, entrance fee for adults is $35 normally, which, if I'm completely transparent, is not worth the experience. Had I not visited with a local educator of an art establishment partnered with the MOMA which netted myself a $5 ticket charge, I would have opted to skip on this visit. I do recognize the importance and interest in what is being offered, but touring through for an hour or so to view only a handful of engaging pieces doesn't validate the standard admission price--and especially so when you can't interact with each piece very well due to crowds.

The price is well worth it if you are into impressionism and beyond. They may allow photos taken (before) but just make sure no flashes. Do look forward to weirder exhibits. Weekends it can be a bit crowded. Interesting people and promising artists do hang out and conversations with them are a bonus.

I feel dissapointed. I played full price for ticket and then I've got info that some expositions are limited BUT some doesn't mean that 80%of rooms will be closed. It is not small price for seeing 1.5 out of 6 avaliable floors. When we tried to discussed we heard that their pairings are in Paris. Good for you we are in NYC not Paris.

Much of the museum was closed off during our visit, and the crowd was unruly with docents ignoring the people shoving/pushing through. Docents ironically know very little about anything in the museum and are actually more like security. The map/layout pamphlet is not helpful at navigating other then telling you what floor something might be on IF they still have it.... which a lot was not there in person despite being on the <outdated> map. Ticket purchase kiosk is great, and getting in is very easy. We were there on a random Wednesday in Feb. Don't know how crazy a weekend visit might be, but I can't imagine it would be enjoyable since they don't appear to limit their crowds.

Highly recommend planning an entire day seeing this museum. I went later in the afternoon and couldn't get through the whole thing. Got the chance to see a lot of original Monet and my favorite piece was Washington Crossing the Delaware. It has to be the largest painting there.

The renovation is great. Membership is great. The top floor is great and filled with greatest hits. There is plenty of WTF modern art for everyone! And if you are going to put statues made of bells on wheels with handles and call the exhibit "handles" you have to let me handle it! C'mon man!
