Great, huge and morden art exhibitions, but you need to pay for ticket
Start at the top and work downwards. Allow as much time as you can spare because it won't be long enough. There is just so much art from stellar names.
New Cafe on Second floor is really yummy with good service
What a lovely venue/collection/experience. Didn't know what they had but my goodness what a surprise. Some real gems for the eyes
An incredible collection of essential artworks. Easily navigable galleries, and a lovely statue garden.
Very nice, but also expencieve. You can See Van Gough, Picasso, Monet and mich other artists. I like it very much.
Great place to see modern art and a few great, classic paintings by the masters.
It's a wonderful place to get lost in art. I really enjoyed learning about Louise Bourgeois' life work! Definitely recommend stopping by and looking around. You'll be surprised by only what you see but what you learn.
An amazing experience. The rich and varied exhibits offer so much more than the typical concept of 'art'...
A must if you're in NYC. The Van Gogh is in the top floor, with Picasso, Braques, and many more...
The Monet section was easily my favorite. A great way to spend half of your day while you are in one of the most iconic cities in the US.
So many classic paintings. Too bad the don't hang more of them. Too much white space on the walls.
Very good exhibition, lots of intresting paintings. arguably too much to see. I would advise you to take the time to visit this masterpiece museum
I usually go there on Fridays from 6-8 because it's free. I am a student so I have to go there quite frequently for class, and it never gets boring. The art there changes all the time, so you are never really seeing the same works, but I really love the selection there. Some of the things there are just mindblowing. Nice modern art.
Really incredible to see so much artworks that is are staples of popular culture and knowledge.
A great bonus of going to NYC is visiting this remarkable place especially during the week. CHRISTINA'S WORLD is one of the greatest paintings Read the description when you visit it outside of the 5th floor elevator
We always find truly interesting new exhibits whenever we visit. I wish the construction would be completed.
Went on a saturday 3pm. Wasn't to crowded. I wish people would put their phones away. You can go online and pull high res pics of these images in multiple formats. Take time to appreciate what you are looking at. Everyone will believe you saw a piccasso up close. There is no reason to stand next to it and smile while your friend snaps a pciture. It's ruining experiences like this. I think cell phones should be banned.
Fridays after 4pm, are too crowded to be enjoyable. Otherwise it's a wonderful fearful museum. Staff is friendly.
Best museum in NY. And with the planner extensions IT Will be even great. Fantastic permanent collection with Van Gogh, Jackson Pollock, Matisse, ... Ever exciting moving collection.
Even The restaurants are worth visiting the moma. The garden had only few works. The rose is fantastic
I was like a child in the candy shop...must go for people interested in abstraction, minimalism, modernism etc.,
Packed with people on Free Friday but that in itself was a great experience, as I love to take photos of people reacting to art. Beautiful museum and wonderful collections and exhibitions. A national treasure.
Glorious and majestic. Got to see a preview of the award-winning AmazonPrimeVideo show, "The Marvelous Mrs Maisel" with a Q&A with Rachel Brosnahan and Tony Shalhoub moderated by Backstage senior editor. Although I cannot give details, I will say that the theatre was packed, everyone fully enjoyed the experience and the show (it's worth getting a Prime membership for!), and we learned integral parts of the entire acting, production, and art of the show any creative could benefit from. Truly one of New York City's finest places!
The Butterfly Conservatory should not be missed! Some of the displays are dated, but many more are fascinating. So much to see, plan to spend at least a full day.
Absolutely beautiful. Very clean and the staff was extremely polite. I loved visiting and seeing all of the great exhibitions.
We visited on a 'Free Friday' and it was absolutely heaving. We were shuffling round the whole museum.
Apart from the crowds, I was disappointed in the amount of recent art, (last 10 years say) given the quantity they must have in storage.
Great museum. Incredible art. If you like modern art this is the place for you. Free on Friday nights at the moment
So much bigger then I thought it would be. Six floors, a courtyard, and a few sattelite buildings. Truely an incredible arrangement.
I reccomend starting on 6f and then looping down each floor. Personally I felt the flow helped focus on the art.
First time visiting and I'm a New Yorker go figure. We never enjoy our own city. I enjoyed it.
Amazing museum with unique collections. I used Friday's free entry but do not suggest to do the same. It is crowded on this day and you can not even breath. Huge lines near entrance and near elevators as well. Will definitely visit again, but not on Friday :)
A nice museum for family. But there will be lots of people in the weekend or the Friday afternoon for a non ticket guide. A MOMA store in just between the street, nice designer products that can bring home with some pricey produce.
If you're in NYC, you must, let me say it again, you must see the exhibits at the MOMA. Take your time and appreciate what the artists have done and how the art was acquired. So many generous people donate to the museums that goes unnoticed by the masses. Read the cards.
As always there are some amazing works but make sure you check their website as they can't display everything; plus there might be a special exhibition.
That said, it was amazing to be so close to classic pieces by van Gogh, Dali, Picasso, Mondrian, Warhol, etc, etc......
Just a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Very extensive collection that can takes days to see it all.
Simply a must visit. If entrance fees are an issue there free entrance on Friday, check to make sure what hours.
The place is very spacious and as such, even though there were many people, it was still very reasonable. I loved the paintings section the most. Viewing up close some art pieces i've seen mentions of so many times was excitings and moving. I would highly recommend visiting even if you only intend to walk past all the art and not take the tine with each piece.
As always, amazing. Gorgeous exhibit of childbirth. A must see for Moms.
$25 to look at tubs of goo, scribbles and blurry photos. The Van Gogh exhibit was very nice, and I am aware it is a modern art museum but frankly it s ridiculous but very funny.
Great Van Gogh and Monet paintings, but a bit too loud inside to hear the audio guide, and disappointed there was no organized guided tours inside, and the audio was quite boring and plain
One of the best places of art on earth. Mesmerising. Most famous paintings of the world are exhibited here. From Picasso, Vangogh, Andy Warhol and Jackson Pollack.. a lot of amazing artworks which you always wanted to see.
Has a restaurant and the food is great. The MoMa store has some great books on art and artists which you may not find anywhere else.
An essential stop for anyone that can appreciate some great art! I just wish the entrances and personnel were more organized, but then again it is a very busy business.
What more do you need to say about this place? Love their collections. Just be careful not to go on the free admission day and when it rains. You will be stuck with a lot of people.
Very nice and relaxing view of some of the world's most famous art.
Wonderful place to spend a day and be inspired by some of the best art in the history of humanity.
There are some amazing works of art to see here, from Starry Night to Water Lillies. The Miro exhibition is fantastic. The cafes here are hidden gems with amazing food. Take time out to enjoy some refreshments as you enjoy the art.
The #best Museu in NYC. And it's free every friday afternoom
Three starts cuz you know this has to be some front for tax evasion. Like who has the kind of money for an art prison. Permanent collection is valid. Read the white card to strangers.
There is always something to see here for modern and contemporary art. Also good for art films and their outdoor sculpture garden is a nice place to take a break and relax.
Very good art. The other systems have some room for improvement.
MoMa.. Its the MoMa.. What's there left to say. Come.. Unlock your imagination. Let art wash over you in waves of beauty that are almost sensual.. Lol.. Its true.. Try it
Good place to see modern arts, but could not see those of Andy Warhol at this time.
I went to MOMA the first paid admission weekend after reopening and it was WAY overcrowded. It didn't even seem less crowded than normal times pre-covid. Everyone was masked, but it didn't seem like MOMA was taking the pandemic seriously. They were packing in as many people as possible. I had friends go during the free admission days and said it was easy to avoid people and practice social distancing. With the free days over, that is no longer the case. If you are sensitive about taking risks during the pandemic, do not go to MOMA.
Just perfect. Always something new and interesting if you love art you have to go there.
Very good art museum. Look for the free night. Well organised.
Amazing six stories of artistic goodness. From Vincent Van Gogh s famous Starry Night to a scale model of a mock-up of the museum, The Museum of Modern Art has it all. The staff are very friendly and the guest infrastructure(how you get around and the placement of the paintings) is preeminently great. Overall a perfect museum experience for any artistic taste.
Excellent permanent collection! They also have excellent temporary show I had the opportunity to see 2 of them and increible. Thw organization inside he museum is really good, you get wardrobe for free, museum map and 1 person in each floor to help you with any doubt.
Fridays is free of charge after 3pm to 20pm, which means a lot of people at the museum. My recommendation get there on time o avoid Saturday's.
This is a world class museum as its reputation states. Worth a visit even if you only have an hour.
The new gallery spaces are a fabulous addition to this friendly, world-class museum. The famous pieces in the collection have been positioned for better viewing; some have a gallery dedicated to them to further enhance the visitor's enjoyment and appreciation of the art. There is far too much to absorb in one day -- don't rush, pick a few galleries, take your time, and appreciate the creative vision.
Somewhat less than what I was expecting. I had high expectations when coming here, however, it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. It is also not as big as I thought it would be. Nonetheless, it is still a pretty good art museum, even if I'm not very interested in modern art. If you are, however, a big art buff, than you'd most likely really enjoy this museum.
A wonderful museum for all (modern) art lovers. We spend hours in here and just didn't want to leave. :) Forget the Guggenheim and go here instead!
Monday, Wednesday, Saturday... go there, you'll understand.
Has some of the greatest art in the world. Also has a huge variety of pieces so there is something for everyone. It is a bit on the pricier side but they offer great discounts for students, seniors, and children.
I went here on the Uniqlo free day and they had more people in the building than is legally allowed as shown on signs within the building. If I ever go back I would avoid the free day at all costs as everyone behaves like animals and the staff, understandably cannot keep up.
Great, great, great, like opening an expensive artbook but they're all in front of your eyes!
Awe inspiring - wonderful sights around every corner - never disappointing
Every bit worth the admission. Free narration on your cell phone is great too. Bring your headset.
Great museum! Totally worth the entrance fee if you're really onto modern art
An exquisite museum with a wide selection of modern beauty.
Nice place for a fun night. Went on a scavenger hunt. It's free on Fridays.
It s a great space, well curated. I went on a weekday afternoon and it didn t feel crowded at all which makes one s visit very pleasant.
It s great to stand next to art works I studied in school and be able to take photographs.
It s definitely a terrific place to go when it rains in New York! It has free Wifi and the food shops have nice options although felt overpriced.
Toilets were clean and there are water fountains near the toilets.
Pay a visit to the shop as well, it s got a nice view and you never know what bargains you ll find!
I can't wait until they finish the remodel! Luckily, they have some very important works of art. If not, I would give up my membership! I can't understand why the curator moved Matisse's "Dancers" from its special wall on the staircase when Matisse wanted it to be seen from that vantage point. Also, who in the world decided to put Wyeth's masterpiece "Cristina's World" on the wall near the elevators and on the way to the restrooms! I hope that this post is read by someone in charge of the MOMA!!!
Art 5 - Curation and Layout 1 . It is shocking how badly the works of art are displayed and featured. Overcrowding is beyond an issue. It is only a matter of time before someone is hurt or a piece of art is damaged.
Most of the staff are indifferent or give the impression they would prefer to be else where. Not what you want to experience from a leading art institute.
It would be very beneficial to the institution to have art, customer service and crowd safety consultants, who have absolutely no current connection with anyone at or with the MOMA, spend some time with the staff to help bring this art museum up to the level it should be.
Again ART 5 STAR all the rest 1= 3 rating
With wheelchair, accessibility was good. staff was helpful and friendly.
Although it can be quite crowded, there are Target (Edit: Now Uniqlo's) Free Friday's from 4PM to 8PM, where admission to the museum is free from those hours! I enjoy checking out their new exhibits, photography section, as well as the garden they have outside which is great to enjoy by sitting on a chair and hearing the water trickle. You also get a free admission to PS1 when you get a free ticket too!
Very amazing experience. The best musem of modern art in the world
Very interesting place. I have now big questions about the definition of "art"
The art is curated for Instagram posts, not for actually enjoying. Not sure the hype. The MET is much better and less crowded.
Just start at the top floor and work your way down. Museum goers were generally courteous, making it easy to move through exhibits etc. Expect lines to stand in front of the more famous works.
I came in 45 minutes before they closed and took a sprint through the museum. Next time I am here I'm going to devote the museum at least half a day. Anticipating a return. 5/5.
Fantastic museum, lots of great pieces, b old and new, famous and not
This museum has a very hit or miss set of art. As a member, you can come to some of the nicest gallery opening parties I've seen. My video gives an example of what to expect, a crowd an open bar and the ability to preview the galleries. One gallery this time was cool, the other I didn't really think was worth the time or money. They have a beautiful courtyard and restaurant you can also enjoy during your visit and therefore definitely recommend doing this museum during the warmer months.
Definitely a must visit, if you love art and visit NYC. This is not that big one, still you can spend at least 4 hours here. They have the original Starry starry night by Van Gogh. They have some collections by Picaso, Frida Kahlo. They have one floor dedicated to photography. We have not seen any long waiting to enter, however it s always a good idea to reach early. You can get an option to pay less for your entree if you are a student ( make sure to show the id).
