You got your Picasso, Braque, Monet and Van Gogh. Tune into their audio tour on their website and you can easily spend a couple of hours on just one floor if you are an art enthusiast.

I knew that MoMA housed a lot of famous works of art, but there were so many more i wasn t expecting to see there. Had to rush through because i was short on time, but could easily spend a whole day there, taking it all in. I was also surprised at the scale of some of the art. When seeing them without context, you have no idea just how large or small they are. It seemed like there were docents at the entrance/exit to every room, and they were helpful when trying to figure out where certain works of art were located and how to get there. Will definitely go back again and again!

One of the best museums I ever visited in my life. Even if you don't like the modern art you should definitely visit this museum. You will see some of the best masterpieces of the world.

I really really liked the MoMA. I enjoyed the paintings of Picasso and Dali but there are so much more to see.

Fresh new expansion gives MoMA masterpieces room to breathe. Don't miss the "Bauhaus" room with an office and kitchen on display, along with a mesmerizing early Soviet era film: who knew steelmaking could be art?

We were so excited to find out the MoMA is FREE on Fridays thanks to a generous sponsor. It was crowded but still very enjoyable. This was our second visit, but they rotate exhibits so new things to see!

If you really want to see 100's of perplexed faces trying to find a rhyme or a reason in some aesthetialy mounted pieces of art, then this place is for you. Sophisticated display the stuff called modern Art, which has no practical use in the advancement of human species. You will realise the useless drawing you did as a child which scored Grade F is far better, meticulous than the work in display here. Literally zero skill work is on display.

My boyfriend and I took a trip to NYC and this was our first stop. We are both designers and love art, and the MoMA did not disappoint. The building is beautiful in its minimalist design, with no detail left unturned. The outdoor water feature is stunning. We saw just about every famous art piece you can think of, and a really cool history of fashion exhibit.

A really good museum but be sure to look up the exhibits ahead of time - there's a lot of changing ones and so your experience can really vary. I remember being disappointed in the Tim Burton exhibit but another time saw an AMAZING documentary about workers in the post-soviet states

We got in for free because of the Uniqlo Fridays, which is from 4-8pm. It was great, the queue to get the tickets outside moved fast. We were able to go through all of the floors in a few hours. There was a big crowd in front of the Van Gogh starry night painting, but in other places, it wasn't too crowded. We also went to the other building, across the courtyard and saw this wallpaper by Andy Warhol. We also went to the relatively queue-free toilets there. Great place to learn more about modern art.

I have always loved this museum; it is quite possibly my favorite museum in the world. And the new MoMA is wonderful. With the timed entry and diminished capacity, it actually added to the experience. The rooms felt open and empty so I could enjoy the art (I only had to wait for one couple before seeing Starry Night, which usually had a crowd 6 deep huddled before it! ) I also appreciated all the new art from their collection, many works I had never seen before. And the greater representation of female and minority artists was also very appreciated as it provided different viewpoints and insights to the art world than I had previously been exposed to.
Finally, for me, one of the highlights was the audio feature on their website. There was no need to rent a listening device as you could use your own cell phone. And the short commentary for many of the works of art added wonderful insight, often from the artists themselves, their relatives, or their contemporaries. This special touch truly brought so much of the art to life.

If you're a student in universities you get free pass even for their special exhibits. They have a cafe inside which is a Little expensive for students. Really interesting temporary exhibits.

A must visit museum in NY. The admission in fridays us free thanks to Uniqlo. The place is very crowded and is almost impossible to look at the master pieces. The extraordinary of this museum is the great exposition they have of the modernism in the world and all its expressions. I'll recommend for a more enjoyed visit coming in week days and paying the full admission to have the time to look.

If you go here, you should really spring for the membership. We got into some events, and some exhibits, before the huge crowds oh, and it made an enormous difference in the experience. The technology exhibit was phenomenal. Make the trip!

Incredible Art -- too many people. I chose to go on a rainy Monday at 11am - apparently so had everyone else. Unfortunately the amount of people did greatly decrease my enjoyment. However, the vast rang or art and media on display is one of a kind. I personally loved the Textile art.

This, to me, is more important to visit than Lady Liberty herself. MoMA displays all forms of art from literature, dance, and film to craftsmanship drawing and molding. Every collection is absolutely stunning

The 7-year-old was staying in front of the Jackson Pollock painting for a long time.
In fact, my legs became very sore after I had visited all the other museums. My family had to go back to a state of mental disturbance. But special exhibitions and contemporary art have stolen our hearts. I still have long memories. I would like to remember that my child is too big.

Never thought I'd like modern art, turns out I do! Though there weren't displaying their copy of Magritte's "Les Amants" - and I was sorely disappointed by that - I enjoyed the several Picasso, Dali's "Persistence of Memory" and Van Gogh's "Starry Night".

Best-in-class museum. Some exhibits are newer, innovative takes that take a view of technology's impact on society; while the 5th floor showcases an impressive number of famous works.

Plan to spend a lot if time there, at least several hours, some famous artists, a great way to discover some new ones, sculpture, painting, drawings, video, mixed media, literally some of EVERYTHING!

Overcrowded. Place is too small for NYC. I would totally prefer travelling to New Haven and take my time at Yale Art Gallery where you can also find some art pieces by the big names. They also arrange the place nicely so you can walk around within your own space and time. Train to New Haven is only less than 2 hours. Besides, there are some other places to visit there too, like Beinicki Museum, Yale British Art Gallery, etc.

We went here when it was free to enter (Friday s from 4-8pm I believe). There currently is a fantastic exhibition running which has Yugoslavian building designs in the post war era, with fantastic architectural technical drawings, sketches and models, along with photos of the buildings once built. The architecture was futuristic for its time and the buildings very unique.

Other exhibitions include Renoir s Water Lilies, and Van Gogh s Starry Night and The Olive Trees among many others. Was a great experience and highly recommended.

Really enjoyable experience overall, even with the works going on at present. Was magical to see my favourite pieces by Magritte, Monet and Mondrian all under the one roof. Was a lot busier than I was expecting for a Friday evening. I'm sure this goes without saying: definitely worth a visit!

I had always heard of the MoMa, but my first time going was after quitting my job, and needed space to decompress. It was fantastic. You definitely need time to see all of it, and given the amount of collections, it s doubtful you can do it all in one day. One of the best features is the interactive audio they have, where you can have every piece of art explained to you via a headset, inside a gallery, which allows you to have your own curated experience. It s an NYC classic destination you shouldn t miss out on!

It's a museum of modern art so not every art or painting is easy to understand. If you like modern art then this is the perfect place for you. The artifacts are arranged properly. Photography is allowed but without flash.

I get why this place is so famous but if you are not into art save your money you will not like it. Honestly paying that much just to see 2 or 3 famous arts doesn't make sense to me but ok

The museum is great but the fact that you have to check your bag and coat, plus their system of doing so, it's annoying and unpleasant. You have to stay in line for 30 min or more. Almost making it not worth it. I expected more from such a great institution. Very disappointing.

I went there on Friday night because it's free thanks to UNIQLO. Since it was free admission, there were a lot of people, which I was expecting. The museum was very nice. Souvenir shop was large and fun too.

Bring your student id for a reduced rate ticket. So much to see but completely walkable in a few hours (unlike the met). The inventory changes so check who is being featured before visiting. Each floor has a little couch to rest by the escalators if you need a break. Pricey but well worth it if there's an artist you love.

The first thing that came to my mind when I entered this museum was that I couldn't believe how easy and manageable the experience was going to be. The people in the front desk where kind and friendly, I could leave my jacket in the reception without worrying because they got a trusty and fast system for storage. Later, I went to eat to the cafeteria in the second floor and it was perfect and delicious. I borrowed the audio tour, and it was incredibly helpful and easy to use. Then, the staff in every room were quite helpful. What can I say? Eventhough, it is a little bit pricey for my standards, the experience wasn't bad at all. I expended 4 hours walking around and experiencing as much as I could, and I still need to come back, so thank you guys.

I have visited other museums and this one was very boring, this in New York?. There were Hamparte arts (of those artworks where the artist HAS TO explain to you what he meant when he created "the masterpiece", Shouldn't the artwork speak for itself?
Museum overvalued. There are not so many works of art as to make it one of the most visited museums. It needs a more varied architectural concept. There are some good works by the great painters (Matisse, Picasso, Van Gogh, etc).

Great pieces of art but the layout lighting and flow of the building is atrocious. starry night, persistence of memory, water lillies are all horrably placed. It's either bad lighting bad placement or one painting owned the room.when this happens all other art is awkward to see because of the amount of people hoarding in front of individuals to see the one piece they wish to see.

Lovely place, but a bit minimal. It's funny -- you'll walk around the corner and there is this priceless work of art that is known around the world, and it just seems like it was placed there casually. Makes you realize just how many of those priceless pieces the MoMA has! 25$ a ticket, not bad, and there are discounts for kids/seniors.

I was recently visiting NY, and purchased the New York Pass, and figured since it is included I would give it a try.

Pros: Starry Night

Cons: Everything else

They have a few amazing pieces of art (well at least Starry Night), the rest to me was a joke. Unless you are a true art fan and can understand modern "art", I advise to skip this and go to the Met. My rule of thumb with art is if I could have made it, it isn't art in my opinion. I'm talking plain white canvasses among other strange things. To give it credit, if you are in to this kind of stuff, this is the perfect haven for you.

Great atmosphere to understand modern art in a frame . Explore all floors .Easy procedure with cloakroom, tickets. The shop is unique, you can stay there for an hour so easily . Restaurant cosy with nice food
Take your children with you and explain the nature of modern art and show them the classics : Van Gogh , Monet , Picasso

A teenager, at the Moma for the first time I beheld a painting by Kandinsky a painter I thought I knew (from art books) and loved, his melodic lines/forms/colors creating visual poems that actually make me happy But not even the sharpest photograph can convey the depths existing in his paintings, a certain tridimensional quality that invites the eye to wander in the canvas as if in an actual room I thought I knew and loved Kandinsky, to discover before a wall at the Moma that I did not know his paintings at all, and that there was much more to love and I recall shedding a tear while smiling.
That day I learned to forever love the Moma, too. An infrequent visitor to NYC, I don t even check the exhibits before going I simply must go, and am never disappointed. Their exhibits always entertaining and informative, I never leave the museum without having learned something precious or having fallen in love with some other artist and their work. A room full of Brancusi where I d love to live. Walls and walls of Cy Twombly making me breathless. Wyeth s rather crude depiction of limitation and desolation in Christina s World, that for a long time I mistook for poetic romanticism. My late discovery of Helen Levitt s pioneering street photography.
And when all these treasured impressions become too overwhelming, the sculptures garden is the loveliest place to unwind I try to visit the museum on sunny days so that access outdoors is granted. The garden also helps my transition from the ideal world inside that beautiful white glass box of art into the real world of noises and pollution and speed back into town, so that I am not too elevated and lost in a state that will get me ran over if I try to cross the first street
The Moma is by far my favorite museum in NYC, always a very personal and private experience in a public space.

Absolutely excellent. It s a surreal experience to visit and to stand in front of some of the greatest artwork ever. They control the flow of the visitors well, people are all polite, the staff are all excellent. The building and open spaces are all beautiful. It s a must-see destination in New York for sure.

Absolutely splendid to walk into the scared spaces of prodigious artists! It's quite surreal to see some of the masterpiece in person, many that we have skimmed over books and internet. A must visit for everyone touring the city!
