Great place to come and get the kids learning and tired them iut. Get the membership, it's totally worth it. Each time you come back, youlkk learn something new or might have missed by the zoo keepers.
Today, the chimpanzees were literally going ape sh!t. They were fighting who knows what...but it was interesting. At the time we were looking at them, it was almost cloaing time and the chimpanzees were all standing by this cave with the door. The zookeeper told us they were lining up to go to dinner. That's the door to go inside for food. That was funny to see and learn about that.

Much better this year there were more animals to see

the kids loved it it was awesome I had a great time I can't wait to go back

Came here for Roaring Nights! So much fun! Loved LOVED the silent disco! I only wish it ended much later.

After making an appointment in advanced the zoo was a nice outing. Some exhibits were closed due to covid(all indoor exhibits). Masks are required and it is covid safe.

Love that it's not too crowded and so many fun animals too see.

Great place to see and photograph different animals..please don't forget to wear your mask....

took my daughter and she loved it although some animals were too cold to come out and run around it was a fun experience! & entrance is not that bad & love that there is free parking!

Always a beautiful place just a lil disapointed with the popcorn size we asked for large and they looked like medium size popcorn.

This is for the Zoo Lights and not for the daytime. It's getting better. I remember when I was little the lights would be outside the zoo and you'd be in your car going slow and you could see the holiday lights and hear holiday music. It More

LA Zoo during Covid is remarkably like pre-Covid, that is, a great spot to see animals and plants. Only difference now is no crowds.

Nice but many hills, so if it's hot very few animals and you'll be exhausted yourself

For sure one of the best zoos in Southern California because they have awesome architecture and wonderful exhibits! And wonderful creatures such as the monkey the app and the phenomenal ferocious lion and a tiger! Quite extraordinary indeed I would recommend it to anyone who is trying to have a wonderful fun time with their kids or their family this is the place to be very family friendly and would recommend to all families! They also had delightful treats such as kettle popcorn which was all natural aswell ! Also cannot go wrong because they sell beer here and they sell craft beer such as Golden Road IPA and the phenomenal mango cart from Golden Road which coincidentally is also from Los Angeles, this is quite a phenomenal city indeed with a vibrancy of eternity! I would definitely come back add time and time again to fully absorb and fully enjoy every single creature in their wonderful habitat , 5 out of 5 alohas!

It's a lot of fun, a great place to enjoy a lot of animals and not only that there are also food stalls ..

Really nice place to go with your kids. The place is clean, shaded all around and even have a kids playground.

Great place to go as a family, I have come here multiple times, yet their is always something new each time we visit. My favorite exhibit is the open bird-cage and the loud monkeys.

The place was huge! Food wasn't priced too outrageous either. The variety of animals here was great and seemed well cared for.

Many of the exhibits were completely empty. While it was very lush with plenty of shade, they planted bushes and plants in between the exhibits and the viewing areas. I had to keep picking up my 4 year at most of the viewing areas so he could see the animals. Doesn't seem like they had children in mind when they planted the botanical gardens. It is a zoo and kids are there to see the animals, not your exotic plant.

Wife and I took the 4 kids to experience "LA Zoo Lights". It was pretty awesome, everyone enjoyed it.

Ok for a family visit and to take the kids out. They have the same layout and their shows are the same since the last time I visited over 10 years ago

Great Park & Ride spot for the Bowl. The Transit Systems driver maneuverd the bus through Hollywood mayhem like a pro!!!

I was just there again yesterday for my third visit; my first in 2014! The name says it all! In Spanish - Descanso means "rest." I haven't been to the LA Zoo in several years. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much it has improved. The exhibits were modern and stylish.

My husband took the kids there while i was at usc having surgery! He said if you have 2 little kids then you need 2 adults! He said it was very hard just going by himself because our daughter was 5&1/2 and my son was 1&1/2 they both wanted to look at different stuff! We are from nv so we don t have stuff life this here lol. I m going back for my 12th ear surgery March 12th so we re gonna come in on Saturday and take them back so we can all enjoy it as a family! He said prices were fine! He didn t eat because he had to come get me so this time i will be saving just for the zoo so they don t miss out on anything! Ohhh and definitely BRING A STROLLER both of our kids can walk but this year I m getting a double stroller it s very long and lots of stuff! So be prepared he only took a single stroller and said it wasn t a good idea!

LA ZOO one of the places you need to visit you're in los Angeles ca,

I'm sure had we gone as a family of 4 instead of a class trip it would have been perfect. Keeping multiple first grade classes waiting for almost an hour just to get in the zoo is a bit extreme. Something needs to help improve the process.

For how expensive this place is the return on investment is minimal. There was not a lot to see however the younger kids did enjoy themselves.

nice zoo kids had fun, good size..unfortunately when we went animals were mostly asleep..but we became members so plan on going back soon

Good to spend family day, my kids enjoy walking and seeing animals, friendly staff.

Zoo was great! However, their map and corresponding trail system was confusing. We would recommend a color coded route system. Quite a few mosquitoes!

Even though the lines were long it was still very fun my fiance and I had a wonderful time

Poor animals, small aviaries, not enough space for them, dirty, bad smell, some animals doesn't have water to drink and some seems hungry. Many animals we couldn't even see, they are hidden somewhere and windows wasn't clean maybe 1 year, we couldn't see because of dirtiness

It was ok, we went sunday feb2 2020 and not a lot of animals to see and they started to put the animals inside that were outside at 4 o'clock.

Time to close the zoo, it has been about 10 years since I have been there, the animal enclosures are bare, no foliage, animals are board, several enclosures closed but public was not told, (How about a sign in front of the enclosure that explains why it is closed. Animals look pitiful. The alligator enclosure is the first thing you see, and it is pretty sad, no room for the alligators. Way too much money for nothing, how about spending that money on the animals. My 6 yr old who loves these animals did not enjoy at all, I kept watching for the look of excitement..................Never was there.

Very fun it's a must go place if you live in los Angeles or visiting we got there as soon as they opened and got a good parking spot and my husband got us tickets to pet baby hippoptomas baby Rosie she was adorable we also had some delicious churros from there the strawberry filled churros are delicious we also got a big bag of fresh kettle corn

Wonderful location, great staff, superb place to spend your day.

Nice place to entertain the kids and get some aun and excersice.

Prepare to walk few hours.
Go there when it's not very hot
