Beautiful zoo, well landscaped, animals from 5 continents, with some endangered animals. For Australia: Wombat, Kangaroo, Tasmanian devil, Koala. For Africa: elephant, giraffe, hippo, lion, zebra. For Asia: elephant, tiger. For South America, a special place with the animals of the Amazon: pirhanas, jaguar, toucan, tapir, ara. 2 shops at the entrance, snacks for lunch.

Nice zoo to visit for a few hours. It is not huge but it does get busy on weekends. Membership is a great idea if you plan to keep visiting. They have everything from individual to family anual memberships. Nice place to spend some time with family or friends.

Went to the zoo today 6/17/16 and was extremely disappointed first off the animals looked hella depressed and old as hell especially the elephant and gorillas look like they been there since 1995 there were hardly any animals out to see it was a hot day maybe 90degrees but they were either hiding or just laying down looking with no emotion the snack bar is high ass hell and food terrible the park overall was clean but bees omg they were flying everywhere especially around the trash cans other than that maybe the only thing I did enjoy was the walk itz plenty of that to do but they need some new young healthy energetic animals and let the old ones go they really look sad

I always enjoy coming year bring in the kids my favorite exhibit is the gorillas and also the chimpanzees they do put on the show every few hours and you are pretty close up they are hilarious when they act up and start goofing around my zoo sometimes the elephants are really out so you gonna miss them but there are a lot of other animals to see one thing I do think is a need to change the lion exhibit just to put together well

Tickets are bought with a designated time. Dont let the line fool you though.nit goes by very quick. It's well worth going because it is not crowded and all animals are able to be seen. However, some attractions are closed. A few quick stop food places are open. Vending machines are not selling items. Gift shops are open but you are unable to enter and must shop from outside the store. I enjoyed my time there a lot

We went to the light show which felt like a huge waste of time and money. The kids didn't seem to happy about it and it was a lot of money overall spent on food and drinks for a few minutes of lights in a few spots.

I don't go to zoos very much but this one is very good. I seen most of every kind of animal up close and personal ( the lair is awesome). The food is good too. ( I had a very tasty turkey sandwich). Be prepared to do a lot of walking ( take the tram. Money well spent).

We enjoyed the Los Angeles Zoo with our two year old. He was excited to see animals like the Capuchin monkeys and the flamingos. We also enjoyed the family friendly Conservation Carousel. However, his favorite areas were the park and the petting zoo. For parents who worry about their toddlers and petting zoos they have handwashing stations right outside.

What a great zoo!

What a great zoo!
This is my first time at LA zoo! We saw so MANY animals and the place was so HUGE. We spent entire day and we were glad that we did this!

I am forced to give one star to publish my review. But my rate is 0 for this LAGER-ZOO.

The rights of animals must be really respected. For sure they are not respected at the Los Angeles Zoo.
One of the most horrible experiences in my LIFE.

The animals are kept in narrow places. The CONDOR, which flies at an height of a Jumbo Jet, constrained and forced to stay a narrow cage.

The snakes are in closed in glass BOXES!!!!!!!! The ASPCA would have to take care of these animals too, not only the pets. They are LIVING BEINGS. All the animals are depressed.

The Dollar God leads everything, at the point that people enjoy (!) to see the animals with a life sentence on them, because their fault is to be wild!!!!

But how can we live, thinking that we can live and move freely, while this animals have a life sentence on them, simply because the people can admire them, as if they were just clowns.

I cannot think of the birds closed in narrow cages, or the flamingos that are in a suspected open space, just because they cannot fly.
Why? Flamingos fly and are dark pink not of a fading pink color.

I wanted to finish my "visit" to realize how deep it was the animals' misery. My heart is full of sadness.

Look at the chimpanzee's glance. Look at the poor condor desperately looking for freedom in the pictures.

Mercy for them!

Hadn't been here since I was a kid but this place is pretty awesome. It's really quite large and you get a lot of exercise walking around. They do have decent beer and wine which makes it good for adults and dates. I got the year membership which will break even on the second visit. It's a pretty good deal if you're local since they have night time events during the summer and holidays.

Very clean and animal habitats are well maintained. The animals look healthy and well kept. Its awesome seeing the lions and snow leopards! My family lives 15 minutes away so we have the member pass, it's worth it.

This zoo is okay, as far as zoo's go. I'm not going to bother comparing it with others Zoo's. It's great for a workout, and to occasionally see the animals, but it is often crowded, has terrible security and safety issues, and their animal care facilities seem to be more about visitors, than for the animals themselves.

Nonetheless, I'm giving it three stars, because if you live in the area, this is basically only choice when it comes to a local zoo.
