We went to the ZooLights on New Year's Eve (paid nearly $300) and it was so disappointing! The food was cold... ice cold, the steaks were raw, and only cooked on one side. It was inedible! Everything looked so hodgepodge and was 90% children. I love kids, but with the DJ playing nothing but children's games, it resembled a children's birthday party. I wouldn't have minded that as much if the food and entertainment would have been better, but it just looked half heartedly slapped together. I would not recommend it at all. Save the $300 and go to a really nice restaurant, instead.

I always love the LA zoo but his time was different. I went April 6th. For every 1 animal we saw there were 3 animal exhibits closed. It felt as if we paid to do alot of walking. In the end my 7 year old that every now and then happens to be a comedian says" mom we only came to see 6 animals and all that walking. I laughed at him but in a sense it felt true. I may try back later in the year.

(pre-pandemic review) A hidden gem in LA. Ticket prices are reasonable and parking is free in the main zoo lot. We have passes and go all the time. They have a decent variety of animals! You can feed the giraffes for $5 (cash only) certain days/times which is a fun experience.

There is nothing better than an afternoon at the zoo. The entire park is built around the elephant exhibits which are amazing to see up close. My personal favorite was the gorilla exhibits along with the black bear. The interesting part of the black bear enclosure is the depth of the pit relative to the animals jumping ability. I think if it really wanted to the black bear could escape.

New to the area and decided to check out the Zoo with kids. I was impressed with everything from the entry fee to animal showcase. It was also nice we were able to bring in a couple snacks and drinks.

Lots of fun, great exhibits, and very clean and well kept. I will be going back allot since I have a year membership. I only gave four stars because all the vendors closed before the park so we didn't get to try the churro sundae on our way out. That's the only thing I was bummed about.

Staff is friendly for Zoo Lights. Didn't try to sell us much. Still not super keen on lack of manners in crowd, but that's nothing on the zoo. Gave 4 stars because it's same as last year...just wanted a little variety.

Wonderfull place, the habitats of the animals are big, bigger than regular zoos and very well done. The habitats of the macacus rhesus (monkeys) was one of my favourites you can feel their social behaviour live. It was christmas when I visited it, so the lights at night was marvelous. You got to get there very early in the morning if you want to visit all animals habitats the place is huge.

I love seeking out the new animals at the zoo and learning about their backgrounds. They have such a wide range of animals that it really takes almost 3 hours to see everything. The trees are all In Bloom right now so it looks lovely.

We have a membership and it is so worth it. My sons love the zoo and it is so fun to spend an hour or two or maybe even the whole day. The animals seem very well cared for and there is so much to do.

A great zoo to spend the day. Prepare to do some walking as the zoo is very hilly. There are plenty of animals to see with some shows sprinkled in here and there. The elephants, bug house and chimp exhibits are fine additions. There is also a little kid park for children so parents can take a break. Great all around zoo.

Our kids have always loved this place with all the big animals here-elephant, lion, tiger, leopard, Chimpanzee, gorilla, giraffe, zebra etc. Also family membership is worth every penny since it's close by and we don't have to plan to go. Parking is free most days..
