A membership to the LA Zoo is a MUST for any toddler parent! I've been coming to the zoo myself for years even before I had kids, because I enjoy animals and zoos. I remember my first time thinking the LA Zoo was going to be some dinky zoo... but it's massive and totally legit! It's not the San Diego Zoo... but who is? This is a totally legit zoo to rival any other big city zoo, and that was surprising.

They are constantly renovating to make larger habitats for the animals. Even in my 10+ years living in Los Angeles, I've seen a lot of improvements that have seen a large positive change in many of the animals lives. The Gorilla and Elephant habitats in particular are very nice. There are tons of interesting kinds of animals throughout to look at!

There is a a playground that is great for toddlers, and even that just got an overhaul. On Friday's they have another indoor play place called the California Condor play center (or something like that). My son LOVES the petting zoo. This is a very nice petting zoo where you DON'T feed the animals, so they have a very nice temperament. It's not like roadside, fair or farm petting zoos where people feed them, so they're always looking for handouts and can be aggressive. These animals are very nice and well cared for. They also have volunteers around the zoo some mornings with animals they tell you about and you can sometimes touch. We also enjoy the seasonal holiday displays the zoos does... specifically their Halloween displays!

We have a great time here! Highly recommend it. But stay home on particularly hot days. We find we're there a few times a month at least, but rarely in the summer...

We had such an amazing time! The lights were amazing! We got to see a few animals, which we weren't expecting at all, and every person we came in contact with was lovely! And all of the pathways were well lit and it was easy to follow the flow of traffic. Awesome!

Los Angeles Zoo, absolutely beautiful in springtime. Plenty of little nooks and hidden places to take in the views and blooms. It can be both very romantic or family friendly, make it your own experience :)

We had a great time at the Zoo.
I checked off a item from my bucket list. Feeding a giraffe was a fantastic experience. The grounds were well kept and bathrooms were clean.

It our short trip of 4hours and we enjoyed a lot. Make sure zoo has parking on both side, we struggled for almost 20 min near entrance and then realize that there is empty space on other side. There preferred parking for 10$, zoo is small but covers almost all animals. We went in the afternoon so most of animals were slipping. It was clean place and 3-4 hrs are enough for quick trip...

This is an old school zoo. While the inclosures could use some updating, the zoo staff is very knowledgeable and kind. The zoo keepers all know their stuff and the animals were in good health. We did the hippo experience and it was great. A dream come true for my son.

This zoo is pretty good overall. They had a little Oktoberfest area today, which was a nice surprise. They have a good variety of animals and habitats. If you go on one of the few sunny days, the animals should be out. My only complaints are the bathrooms need better upkeep and too many exhibits closed at the same time.

Way more reasonable prices than the San Diego zoo. Shorter distance from my house too. The animals seemed sad and weren't doing much and some exhibits were just plan depressing... But overall the staff and location were good.

Came from Utah to see the zoo and Disney land. The otters are way fun for kids as they interact with them, a lot of habitats where closed (beginning of October 2016) they have 4 penny smashing machines but no place to get change. Ask a food place they say no change available. Bring your own change if you like them

Honestly, it's not a big zoo, I come from China, there're lots of zoos couple times bigger than this. But L.A. zoo's categories are awesome, a lot of animals come from different parts of the world. I can tell they all in a good condition. I rode bike from Culver city to Griffith park meeting my friend there, and she has a membership card, I remember it's 40 dollars per year. So I didn't pay the ticket. We got there at 10:20, avoided the crowd. Don't forget to bring some snacks, water and sunscream. Great experience here.

We knew it was raining which we were prepared for. We asked two people of everything was open and the both said yes. Once we got in none of the showtimes or feedings happened because of the rain and the shuttle wasn t running. When I asked for some compensation because of having 6 little kids he said no it s nothing to do with them.

L.A. Zoo is a lovely visit. In the middle of Griffith Park, it very much has a park feel inside. Wandering around, you feel so far away from the city, even though it's right outside of the park. Great if you have kids, just be aware that it is hilly. People with walking issues might want to rent a scooter or take advantage of the zoo tram ($5 adults, $2.50 kids, $2.00 seniors and those with a disability, kids under 2 are free). During the pandemic, you have to make a reservation ahead online so to limit the attendance. Some attractions are closed, but most are open and just socially distance compliant. If you need a day away from the hustle and bustle of L.A., the Zoo is a nice, close and inexpensive escape.

If you like to visit the zoo regularly you could purchase a family membership. They have different membership levels but they all include unlimited visits. They also have occasional evening events, such as brew at the zoo and holiday zoo lights.

This is a very nice zoo. There is a pokestop like literally every 30 feet. Tons of pokemon spawn here and people are always running lures. You can get a draft beer by the giraffes and kick it by a pokestop and farm like crazy.

We were members last year and are renewing for this year! Protip: go eat a big lunch before going in. Then walk it off, dismiss the fastfood offerings, and no lines all afternoon as most leave early

Awesome experience, all the employees are nice and park is kept really clean. It's a nice place to go see animals or for a walk. Was a little disappointed that a few cages where empty when I passed by, probably because of weather or maybe they were just really good at hiding lol. Overall very good zoo for kids and adults. Definitely recommend.

No zoo is the same, I've been to London Zoo in UK, and Longleat Safari Park in the UK. You can't really compare them, it's a different experience. I want to go back and enjoy sketching the animals. I did feel quite sorry for the bored Orangutang, but I somehow felt that the behavior of the visitors was more to blame.

I gave it 3 stars...reason being that I felt that the animal displays are tired, some empty, some of the animals seemed to be distressed, In saying this I'll give 5 stars for the giraffes...especially the baby giraffe.

Amazing large zoo with a ton of animals! I was there for 3 hours, and I could have stayed longer. Covid precautions are not intrusive whatsoever. I'll definitely go back when they have the shows and activities open.
