Surprisingly good zoo. Everyone said to drive to San Diego to go there. I have been to San Diego already so thought we might as well try the LA one instead. It was fantastic. Healthy happy animals, clean well maintained exhibits. The only real issue was the lions have a tiny enclosure. The animals look healthy, but you can't help but wonder how much better they'd be with a bit more stimulation.

Purchased tickets online from their website, navigating was easy. Considering a lot of stuff was closed, my son and I had a really fun time. The primates were my favorite, while he like the giraffes and elephant.

Throughout the years the zoo has made many upgrades and it looks nicer. Great place to come with the family . You have 2 options to park. You can either pay $10 which is easier and more parking spaces available or you can park further away from the entrance and is free .

I visited this garden yesterday, it being my first time and i loved it. I didnt have time to check the whole garden but enough to say is a great location for pictures, hang out with friends and definitely a great spot to relax and reflect by yourself! Sometimes i need my solo time!

The family membership was one of the best things i did while living in la. The petting zoo, and playground never got old. Each visit was different. Free parking. Bring your own food or eat there the food is great.

Decent number of animals to see. Enclosures did not seem suitable for some. Behavior seemed neurotic . In particular elephant kept on just leaning back and forth. Tasmanian devil just kept running in a circle. Mercats were cute.

Today I took my mother and two sisters and we had a blast! We enjoyed all the exhibits and animals! Two images that will live with me was that of Kelly and the baby chimpanzees. When we were watching the gorillas my attention went immediately to Kelly because for some reason I felt as if he was mad and sad. After reading his personality description I thought I was reading too much into it but I swear he was aware of his captivity and wanted to be somewhere else. As we continued our LA tour we came to the chimpanzees and obviously the babies had everyone's attention. Overall, it was a great experience for my family and me and we will definitely will go back. Thank you LA Zoo!

Note: the last time I went to the LA Zoo I was and ESL student in 7th grade!

Today was the first time in years that I went to the LA Zoo and it was so much more than I expected! The animals were easy to view. My 2 year old niece had a blast! I would definitely recommend the LA Zoo for family outing.

Most exhibits have distance watching so you can get up close. Understandable. We did the entire zoo in less than 2 hrs. Many exhibits were closed like Lions, Asian Elephant and the Lair for reptiles. Expected more. Disappointed.

I liked it more than San Diego Zoo. I liked the concept of passport with stamps to get a free sovuenuer. San Diego zoo charges more than any other zoo and does not even give anything as memories.

They seem to have really good workers with the animals now, which is so important. The animals are happy and live in a fun environment, where families can learn about their natural habitat, to a decent enclosed setting! They have plenty of healthy food to eat for renourishing. Reasonable guest passes for the year and plenty of parking.

Lots of walking so bring comfortable shoes. Can be very crowded depending the day and time you visit. The only thing that disappointed me was how old most of the animals we saw looked. Not that they're not enjoyable but looked tired....

Unless you're an athlete it's pretty hard to actually see everything in one trip. Be prepared for long walks. There are many different animals, half of which disappear in cold weather and others still are quietly avoiding the spectators. (Not sure I can blame them!)

I had a great time at the LA Zoo. The animals were all out on sunny days, but when it rains, or even starts to sprinkle, they take them all in. I gave this place 4 stars because the food isn't really that good.

Most hard to navigate zoo I have ever been too. I realize it's a smaller zoo and they are using every nook and cranny to fill with exhibits and animals but come on...you would think someone in their right mind would make it easier to find and see things with adequate signs. The maps are no help. The signs on the paths are minimal and when you follow it in the direction it points you to get to a specific animal, you never get there!!! Once you head down a path, now that path will split off in 2 or 3 different directions with no signs to continue you on path to see that animal you wanted. Everyone seemed lost, confused and disoriented. I've been to many zoos in my lifetime both big and small as a 1st time visitor and had no trouble. My suggestion...invest on some signs for your guests. It literally felt like you led us around confused on purpose so it would take us longer to get through so we'd stay longer. We gave up and left.

The LA zoo is a great place to spend your day. Lots of animals that are well taken care of, lots of shade, free parking, and it's very clean. Very relaxing day and I would recommend for everyone.

Honestly I'm a little bit biased because I love animals. If you do too then please come here because most of the money goes to conservation of Wildlife. The orangutan Bruno is one of my favorites, along with leadbottom the Andean condor. Again I may be a little bit biased also because I've been coming to the zoo since I was 2 years old. Still a delightful time you can spend all day walking around looking at and learning about animals. Very educational and fun time.

Had a lot of fun!! Love the way the zoo is structured. I would suggest planning to attend all the shows before visiting the place so that you'll know which part of the zoo to visit first. You can get the zoo brochure online to get information on all the timings.

They have no idea what they are doing. It was choas prior to getting in no direction from staff. Long queued line with many people cutting in line. It was not a family environment and the decorations are lackluster. They had only two stage preformers in skin tight suits with underwear clearly seen. Open alcohol and over drinking. Would not come back and did not feel safe with my toddler. No security and no direction in park. Go to knott's or sixflags if you cant afford disney.

This is one of the best places (and deals) to come to in LA. Our small children love it. We have been coming here for years. The trick is to arrive early before parking fills up and the crowds arrive. We even had a Birthday party here. The annual family pass price is practically free. There have been talks about privatizing the ownership, I hope this doesn t change the experience for us loyal LA zoo-goers. We often pack a picnic lunch and find a bench (opposite the monkeys) to have lunch. The more you come here, the less chances you have of getting lost. It s a maze. All part of the fun. 5 Stars!

Love coming to the LA zoo! Great animals to see and learn about. Free parking. It is very worth it to get the family annual pass. It pays for itself in a couple of visits. There is even a great play area for the kids in the back!
