It was a pretty hot day in LA today (90 something degrees F) and most of the animals was facing away or trying to find a spot to hide from the hot sun (which is totally understandable, yet, frustrating).
My pick point was the staff. Ther were so nice, friendly and every time you approached them with a question, they always have a smile upon their faces. They were amazing.
Is a very nice place to come visit. Is beautiful, charming....I will definitely come back often.
P.S: they didn't have the Lion at the moment. Apparently, he was too old and passed away, and they didn't find a replacement to him. #Rip

The zoo is still a major attraction in Los Angeles, .ca. always fun and rewarding.

Ive been coming here since I was kid a, a teenager and nor a parent and get to see the look on my kids faces of pure joy when we come. they get so excited.

I ve lived in California since 2004 but I ve never been to the zoo before. I wanted to wait until my kids were old enough. We had an amazing time! It s a lot of walking but you can also rent wheelchairs and strollers! They have a ton of great lunch places inside of the zoo.

LA Zoo Light event is so much fun. If you have a child they will love it!

Love it! The parking is free unless you want preferred parking which is nice. Its a good size but not too big so you can see the whole thing in about 3 to 4 hours. There is also a petting zoo so you can take your little one to pet and or brush goats :)

I have owned a season pass for some time. If you live in the LA arena I reccomend it. The zoo is large and lots of fun. We enjoy spending lots of time there.

Very nice well maintained zoo.. my kid enjoyed a lot running around and in the carousel ... Except for the gorilla we could see all the animals mentioned in the exhibit.. the have African, Asian, Australian and American animals... They have a very affordable membership as well with a lot of activities going on .. ample parking space

Animal exhibits are almost empty with very less animals. Food options are also very less.

Like most other places in LA, it's dirty and there's graffiti everywhere

So much fun. Animals were out and active. Not as many people made it enjoyable.

We had a fabulous time back after being gone too long. The staff was very welcoming. Even maintenance staff were cheerful and helpful.

Animals were very lonely. 1-2 per cage and all were sleepy and lonely.

Best place for kids! I like their front line scheduling system the best. You can choose less expensive level but still works.

I went for the LA Zoo Lights, although there really isn t any animals out, the light display is really nice. It s a nice walk to talk with the family, a date, or friends. I d definitely check it out!

I love taking three kids to see animals here. We actually saw a look eat one puff the ducks that was hanging out. It was crazy and we had fun.

Very nice and clean place to take your children on a weekend or enjoy camping

We had fun here at the zoo, and the day we went there weren t many people at all. The zoo was a little bit too expensive, and I don t see myself coming back to visit it again. It was a fun day though, and the gorillas were posing for so,e of the photos we took!

I love going here in December. Not too hot, not too cold and It s lit up!

LA Zoo is a great place to visit during the week when it ain't packed. There updating all the exhibits and it's looking awesome.

The visit was ok. Some exhibits were closed due to the virus and others were just empty. My kids still had fun. It was a good walk.

love the zoo... the only thing is that if they say they are closing at 5 the animals should be around until then... they start putting them in at 4

Been a long time since I've come to the zoo. Brought the fam. Had a great time. Kids really enjoyed it as well. The place was really clean and seemed to be kept up to date quite well. Staff was minimal but helpful and friendly.
Tips, cold days are bad time to go. The some animals will be hibernating or just not there.
Early in morning is also a good time to beat some crowds bit most the animals are asleep still or not visible till afternoon or later.
Food is over priced but bringing a lunch or food is allowed. Just don't feed the animals with it. There is plenty of places to sit and eat. No real designated area unless by food retailers.
Keep in mind, you will be around a mass amount of public including kids that are super excited to see the animals. A lot are not kept in check so have patience. Keep an eye on wandering children, they can get lost in crowds easily.

Kids love it. Lots of animals, clean facility. Fun times. But kinda sad, since it's like a prison for animals

It is a good place to have a good time to do sports, ride a bike, run, play golf, enter the zoo and have family gatherings and more horse riding and mountain walks.

It is a precious moment seeing those lovely and rare animals.

They dont really informed the mask rules once your inside, saw to many people just walking around not caring about other people's health/safety. Alot of animals weren't there or maybe in there cages in the back. My daughter still had a great time, but not like when I was a kid.

I love this zoo. It's second to San Diego. It's conservation efforts are what continue to bring me. They are continuing improving their efforts to make animals comfortable and provide then with an enriching environment. Is a great place to walk, take the kids and enjoy the day.
Negative: It can get extremely crowded on the weekend and the only way in can take up to an hour JUST to get into the parking lot. Is a horrible design.

An excellent and familiar place and very clean and everything tidy

Super fun and the kids loved it. The monkey exhibit is the best especially the seating to watch them. That was the favorite for all.

Have been a member since I had my son. Parking is good. A few restaurants and snack shops. Maybe not the best place to visit during summer because socal gets way hot for the animals to be active.

Went here when the Christmas lights were up. Great for a date!

Went on a Saturday and it was not very busy. The only complaint i have is that there are no canopies when waiting for refreshments. I went to 3 places to get a drink had to wait in the hot sun.

The LA Zoo lights were awesome. Had a live band, and cocktails available for purchase. Not too crowded. Loved it!

Having the shuttle helped out so much. Some animals were put away. That's why I gave it a 4 star. Other than that, a fun place.

Amazing time. Love the interaction with the giraffes.
