A paradise within the Los Angeles area... I little hike and beauty... I would suggest going during the spring, late summer and fall time periods... Spring is great due to the flowering of the trees, roses and more... This is my 4th visit and first in many years... A nature walk to help relax and simply enjoy the scenery... Think mindfulness...

We loved this zoo! This was the 3rd zoo we've ever been to and its HUGE! The workers care, they were genuinely friendly to us, the park was very clean and not busy for a Sunday morning. They had hundreds of different species from snakes and lizards to tigers and lions. Anyone visiting the LA area should come here local or tourist, it's a place for both.

Came here twice for a private event after 5pm. Foods were decent and short activities such as giraffe feeding, face painting were pleasant as well. My kids were scared though due to many bees though. lol

There are many varieties of animals, they seem as they were malnourished. However the staff are very friendly and cheerful, you can see them working hard in order to make this zoo the best in the world.

Always a great day at zoo! Even better now with reservation only. Perfect amount of people, plenty of room. Feel safe. Some things closed, i.e. shows of course. But during these times, expected. Grandbaby had a ball. As we were leaving she said, "Best day ever!". Whatelse needs to be said. :)

I love this zoo! The staff are friendly and personable, the grounds are impeccably maintained, the carousel is a classic and definitely worth visiting. Put on your comfortable walking shoes and go explore.

I came here with brother, sister in law and twin nieces last weekend. What a relief, Los Angeles Zoo was in the nice part of Los Angels. Everyone had a blast! The place is well kept but not super fancy. Parking is $5. Once you pass the toll gate, it's street parking near the amusement park.

A perfect idea for a family weekend vacation and education with Botanicals plus the animals is absolutely excellent for any mind but I find it can be exhausting if you only have one day I suggest taking The Weeknd :-) also it's great to take snacks and drinks in a bag for children .. Concession stand expensive other than that it's a beautiful, interesting, and relaxing place to visit

The animals exhibits were good and there is a lot to explore here.

Word of wisdom though, stay away from the caves near the front of the park. They have almost no lighting inside them and have multiple pich black turns, which led to my wife kneeing a concrete wall and scrapping all the skin off of her knee. Security acknowledged that they have know about the problem for a long time but never fixed it. The customer serves from the zoo was disappointing, but the animals seemed happy and the exhibits were well maintained.

Los Angeles zoo is one of the attraction in Los Angeles. Can see wide variety of animals, snakes and birds. Different types of species are there. Count of animals is very less. Maintained the surrounding properly and cleanly. Feels like you are going through a forest. Friendly staff is another attractive point. You can spend around two to three hours with your family. Kids will like this place very much.

My family and I had a blast. My sons loved the animals. Surprisingly my husband and his dad had a great time as well. We saw mist of the animals. This place is huge. I highly recommend you wear comfortable tennis shoes/sneakers and clothes as well. There's some uphills. You may bring snacks Nd drinks but there's also grills, gift shops, and cafes inside as well as snack carts around the trails.

August 2019 well although it does not compare with that of Mexico there are almost no animals that are there just look very expensive all in a simple water $ 5 But there are many water troughs and many bathrooms and very clean and see that they let in with backpacks with water and even cakes .. they charge $ 21 adults $ 18.50 children, parking is free and the other half is more $ 10 preferable not to pay because the entrance is not far away

Loved how big it was, wasn't super busy for the weekend, a few misters and shade spots, really liked the kids play area being shaded as well. I was pushing a stroller with two kids and please note the terrain was like the majority of LA, super hilly. Lots of animals, the zoo could invest in more "here to help associates" placed at intersections for navigation and assistance. Otherwise love that carry-in's are allowed. Good visit!

Ok zoo that need some serious refresh. I think that at the Safari it would be easier to spot and watch the animals. It has been OK, but for a zoo that name LA zoo I would expect more. Not sure I will return to it if things will remain the same way they are now.

There aren't tons of animals but it's still cute and fun with little kids. We like to see a few animals on our way to the playground. Easy way to spend a few hours. We like taking the shuttle to the top and walking down to avoid some of the uphill walking.

My kid loves this place and keeps her busy, so I like it too. Some areas and animal exhibits show their age and are sorely need to be upgraded. Be ready to do a lot of walking here so bring comfortable shoes, the zoo is big.
