Great Zoo! My Mom and I went to spend the afternoon and look at animals and we had a great time. Had a Beer and she had a wine and it was a great time. The only problem, causing a 4 star, was the staff. They were a bit lazy, not enthusiastic at all. Also there wasn't much going on. Otherwise, a great time.

Had a hard time getting here, got the wrong tickets online, after talking to their chat line. Was sent to 4 different people to get the right tickets. But all that, it was worth it. The zoo is just a wonderful place to spend the morning at

The LA Zoo has come a long way. I really enjoy strolling the hills and taking in the wildlife. An annual pass is a great value. Your whole family could come for the whole year for around 120 bucks!

Everything was good till we went to purchase out pictures. The gentleman helping us was nice.
Great customer service skills and professional. We joked around about filters and photoshop,
Well I joked with my sister about having the Snapchat filters and the girl next to the gentleman helping us. Started making rude comments saying sounds like a personal problem . Can t have it your way
The service from her was bad. The pictures that are in display were in the floor I picked up and tried handing it to them but they looked at us like we were just bugging.
I love the zoo. But the staff is horrible.

Nice zoo with lots of clean amenities (at least on a weekday). Wide pathways and large areas for viewing making it a bit less cramped than some zoos. Animal exhibits are fairly average, with the exception of the huge Africa exhibit (which was mostly empty). Animals seemed content, but we went on a very hot day so a lot of them were hiding in the shade. My main complaint is actually with the layout of the zoo. There are tons of loops and double-backs so you'll frequently be checking the map to see where you are going. And the map seemed to take way too many liberties with the scaling because it was really hard to tell how far something was.

Good zoo, just don't go on a hot day.

Came to see Los Angeles Zoo and was very disappointed. No animals, just long trails for walking and hiking. The price does not justify anything but rainforest vibe with no to minimal animals. In my opinion there are more animals at the circus than the zoo. Will not be coming to the zoo as it is waste of money and time.

Great place to hang out, walk around, mediated and enjoy nature with family or on your own. It's a good hour away from Long Beach (because of traffic -_-) so making a day of it out and exploring restaurants/ bars in the area after is more worth our time :)

LA Zoo was very fun and it was pretty big. We didn't arrive till afternoon however, we were still able to explore everything. It would have been nice to watch the feedings at certain times but overall it was a great first experience. Parking was free too.

It is a wonderful place, to go with family, to enjoy, to know the different types of animals in their habitat, every time my family and I go we enjoy it very much, you can never miss the bag of popcorn

I loved the zoo. The park is big enough to spend four hours and still miss exhibits. We walked six miles so you get an great deal of exercise. They serve beer which is something I have never experienced at another zoo. I was very surprised at how good the food was, big portions for a reasonable price. I feed a giraffe which was one of the highlights of my life. Everyone is friendly. I would recommend getting there when the park opens. First off, it gets very hot in the park as the day goes on. Second, in the morning the park is nearly empty and gets really crowded around 2 o'clock.

As a grow single male the Los anAngel zoo is not a fun place; unless, however, you like watching caged animals be bored with life and an endless barrage of loud parents and kids with strollers not knowing want direction to walk, then you'll have a blast here.

I saw maybe one or two staff members; I don't know if that's important or not but some guy, whom I assumed was hired to help assist with the shuttle services provided by the park, thought it would be a good idea to walk directly between me and another staff member I was having a conversation with I guess as a show of courtesy.

If you like walking around drinking over priced beer while being disregarded and watching animals (the few you can actually see) sleep then this is the place to be.

Had a great time with my family as always and finally got our membership so I'll give it 5 stars. The only issue we had was at Zoo Grill, we had never been there before we had questions about the drinks the lady at the register named Mary? Or Maria? She was an older lady, well she was very rude to us. My husband and other family member even noticed it. She made a face to us as if being super irritated and talked to us very unprofessional. Also I told her that we had the membership and showed it to her but she didn't put it until the 3rd time I showed her the card. Next time we go we will for sure avoid her.

We had a great time at the zoo. Like most zoos, some of the enclosures are better than others, some are more tired. But overall, very fun. Paths are logical without being too much of a grid and/or a single loop. (Study the map for a few minutes and you can probably work out two or three different routes to see almost all the animals with no backtracking or minimal backtracking.)

If you love long walks and animals this is the place for you. Be forewarned, the place is huge and you will get dehydrated and sunburnt if you do not take the necessary precautions.

We went on Memorial Day so it was crazy busy, but it was an amazing experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. They also have lots of animals just waiting to be photographed! Plus they sell beer so basically its my happy place. Definitely recommend to anyone, especially great for families.

Very bad, the animals were sleeping or there wasn't any animals where there was suppose to have animals. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. Especially when you pay the amount of money to get in there

Neat zoo but really confusing signs, easy to get lost. They did have alot of animals but since its so hot out they are hiding. I have to see if you even got to Birmingham Al you have to visit theirs. More animals to see. This did have an amazing bird area very shady and just amazing to see. Parking is free and this is worth the money, we went as a couple.

Love the LA Zoo! Went recently after not having been since I was a little kid. And now, as an adult, I think I actually liked it more.

I like the layout. The map is decent enough to easily navigate you where you'd like to go. The "trails" or walkways ya take through the Zoo seem well thought out so you can circle back to/from areas you missed earlier or didn't get a chance to see.

Parking was easy. Staff helpful. Animals awesome.

The only thing I'd think of to be more prepared for are all the hills. The LA Zoo is around the mountains/hills of the Griffith Observatory, (my favorite venue) The Greek Theatre & as you walk through the LA Zoo, you will have upset & downs. Some fo the hills can be tough for folks who bad backs, bad knees or whatever the case is.
My point - there are hills. Some steep some not so steep. Just know some are more difficult than others, so if you have someone w health issues or bad knees etc., Be prepared so you can fully enjoy the LA Zoo. It is awesome.

We went yesterday and had a terrific experience. Honestly this is a great time to visit the zoo.

As far as safety goes, there were sanitization stations everywhere, ticket scanning was touchless, all doors were propped open so you didn't have to touch them. Unfortunately none of the restaurants accept Google Pay so they have to handle your card but that's standard in the US still. Signs promoting social distancing are everywhere, and there are reminders not to touch on every piece of glass or barrier. The exhibit glass was a little milky looking but that might have been whatever they were sanitizing with. Mask compliance was very good. At no point did anything feel crowded, and only a couple times did I have to get close to other parties, mostly when they were disobeying one-way signs.

Many things are closed which is to be expected. All the indoor exhibits and experiences are closed, so if you're going on a hot day realize that you're gonna be outside the entire time you're there. Also all but two of the basic restaurants are closed, and the two that were open had limited menus, just pizza, burgers, chicken strips, and fries. No fountain drinks, only canned drinks, but you can still pick up Golden Road Mango Cart! Outside seating only of course. I didn't see any rules about walking and eating, but I also never saw anyone doing it, I wouldn't because it's rude. There were a handful of Dip-n-Dots carts open, and the churro factory was open with their normal menu.

The animals were the same as always, maybe a little more active actually. Many of the monkeys came up to say hi to us. Every employee we interacted with was cheerful and immensely helpful.

Overall great experience!

Fun

So much nicer now! Going early is always best. Even more ideal if you get the membership so you can get the early entrance privilege. They have yummy snacks at their kiosk and the bird show is so worth it. Love that we have our own world class zoo.
