This is a beautiful zoo. I took my four-year-old granddaughter there I think you have to arrive early in the morning to really see all the animals. Nonetheless it s a beautiful walk to go on. I only gave it four stars instead of five because in my mind it is too expensive. To charge $17 for a four-year-old child and $19 for a senior citizen, when the zoo should be easily accessible to all It just goes against what I believe is right.
Me and my family love going to the zoo. Definitely recommend the annual pass. We love the animals and the trails, especially on those gloomy days. They have very nice perks and discounts for all the annual events such as summer nights and the L.A Zoo lights.
A lot of walking, got the whole zoo done in 4 hours. Some indoor exhibits are closed. Or viewing is further away. But lots to see. Restrooms all over.
Awesome zoo. Not to croweed, and animals look happy and well taken care of!
Such a fun classic Zoo! And you cant beat the price!
Didn't see many animals out, and they have a terrible bee problem. Having the bee's is nice but they are everywhere and they follow you. The walk was nice.
Brought my family to the zoo lights. The lines to get in is 2 times around the parking lot. My husband has neuropathy in the legs and cannot stand up for prolonged periods of time. Offered to show disability paperwork so he can get in before us and wait inside a cafe. Was told by 3 different employees "no" and that we must enter together. In line since 5:40 so for 40 minutes we haven't covered half of the line to go in. ADA will be notified of how accessible and accommodating the zoo is
Very good place to take children to see animals and have a new experience.
I feel so sad for the alligator who was by himself no companion with barely any water in the pond.
Same thing nothing new , but good to take little kids to have fun watching the ZOO animals
Lots of shade, beautifully landscaped, lots of cute animals to see. The food is very reasonably priced. We went during October so they had trick or treating stands all throughout the zoo. We had a very enjoyable visit.
Great zoo! My only question is why so many of their monkeys have diabetes!
It's amazing!! The Bird Show was incredible it made cry happy tears thinking about how animals are wild and free. This zoo I amazing!!
Terrific zoo from start to finish. Spent 4 hours walking the zoo and its attractions.
Super packed on weekends and Food is way to over priced and don't go in the morning because all the animals are asleep and being fed
Love this zoo... parking can be tough and the heat is no joke in 9/12 months, but it's clean and the animals are in nice exhibits.
It is okay. I would not say it is a highlight of LA. If you are a tourist I would not bother unless you have never been to a Zoo in your life.
The best place to take your child. Not only is it fun but educational. I love it
The Los Angeles Zoo is a great place to view a diverse group of animals! The space is sprawling, with the standard enclosures and animals you'd expect at most views. There is a small petting zoo area for kids that is great, and the Zoo has a small tram for those who'd prefer not to walk up hills. The tram does cost a couple of dollars. The Zoo is large, and it can get HOT, so check the weather before you go. Be sure to bring sunscreen and water, especially during the summer. On hot, hot days, they'll have misters located in various areas. The staff are friendly at the Zoo, and the grounds are well maintained. There is a good amount of parking, including "priority" parking, which costs vs. the free parking.
Always clean. Everyone is helpful. They have up front parking now for a small fee. Well worth it. They just need more sitting areas around the food courts.
When I visited, there were hardly any animals out. Of the very few that I saw, my favorite was the gorillas. Found it somewhat ridiculous that I had to walk a very long way just to see to alligators that looked so fake it was funny.
Great for visiting with kids. Parking is convenient and prices are reasonable.
Great place for family. We've visited the dinosaur exhibit 4 times now and my 2.5 year old daughter loves it. Other favorites are the carousel and if we make it far enough the giraffes.
Loved this place!!!! Been here twice and loved it both times!
An LA landmark. The LA Zoo is a place where generations of us have visited and will continue to take our children and grandchildren to visit. I highly recommend going. Remember to buy your tickets in advance.
My kids love this zoo - it's really fantastic - very large and a membership is totally worthwhile with little kids. really great option for educational family fun. the monkeys here are next level - very active. Giraffe feeding is great - flamingo's, reptiles, aquarium area - elephants - all really top notch!
Most of the animals were sleeping so for that I think that's kind of expensive
It is an extremely pleasant place, I recommend it, you will not regret it when visiting it
The enclosures for some of the animals are very small.
Really nice place to spend time with the kids and family
Amazing zoo ! So many varied exhibits, many small activities, great dispersion of drink and food vendors. Fair prices imo. You really get your money's worth
Had a great time! May not be the best time of year to go, many animals in hiding this time of year. But the kid had a blast
Obviously a lot of things closed due to covid but gave us something to do and still a lot to see.
Beautiful zoo, lots of walking can be done in a shade. Gorilla exhibition is impressive.
I love this Zoo. To be fair I haven't been to many others, but it's conveniently located off the freeway. Parking is always reasonable. I do go weekdays mostly right when they open till Lunch, but that way I avoid the crowds and the heat. This is our 2yr of membership and so worth the cost.
I almost saw every animal except the bear well if you look inside cave u can see it a little bit but it was sleeping
The place is Expectacular. I suggest that they should put more signs to indicate the routes.
I mean, it's a zoo. Always gonna get 5 stars from me. There isn't anything special about this zoo to separate it from other zoos, but it is really fun and they have some great opportunities to interact with the animals throughout the day. You should definitely go in the morning. Parking is free. Bird show is phenomenal.
I love the zoo and it was a great day for a field trip
Enjoyed our day here. Terribly hilly though. One tram to go uphill. Was impressed how big the Elephant paddock was. Many trails with tall trees and bushes for privacy. Lots of large balls to play with after eating
It's an alright zoo, nothing spectacular, and the exhibits are not designed all that well for enjoyment. As an example, for a lot of the animals it was hard for our kids to see the animals unless we held them up. Also there is a lot of walking where there is nothing to see, in between the exhibits. The individual exhibits were problematic for the larger animals, because there would be multiple areas for the animals to be (which is good) but you could only see one area at a time without a lot of walking (which is bad). The kids were entertained for a few hours, for adults it won't be as impressive.
went for the holiday light show. It was horrible, most of the lights werent even on. The water show was not well seen. Only the people in the front could see.
I love the Los Angeles Zoo! Many animals on display .
It is worth what you pay, it is a very fun and family step
Nice zoo, lots of well placed kiosks for drinks and snacks in the heat. Also reasonably priced.
The zoo lights are so overrated. I expected all these colorful lights just everywhere but then you get there and all the lights are spread apart into different areas. Got there at 6 and left by 630 because we finished walking the whole thing. Shame the animals aren't out. Only animals you see are the reptiles. Overall you're better off walking around a neighborhood with more lights then the zoo. Also it gets crowded super fast. Go around 5-530 to avoid the huge crowd rush.
Nice, make sure you bring walking shoes, or map out the shuttles in the zoo
Love it here never to crowded, close to fwy. Animals look happy. Very clean. Loved it so much I bought a Annual pass. Great place to go walk and get excercise too!
I never been to a zoo because I don't believe in caged animals this was my first and last visit to a zoo I was right no zoo for me I went just for the love I have for my little nephew
I grew up going here and now I bring my son. It's always a nice time and good for my family. Plenty of animals to see in a safe environment.
Amazing place specially this time of the year at night for the LA Zoo Lights. The water light show was the best attraction of the night and is definitely something enjoyable by a person of any age! The initial line may be long but it goes by real quick. Would definitely go there again :)
My grandson never get tired the whole day of our visit at the Los Angeles Zoo! Happy and too excited watching his favorite animals.
We had a wonderful time at the Zoo! The employees are doing a great job keeping everything clean and safe! Never once, did we feel uncomfortable. Everyone had masks on and keep their distance from each other. Employees at the gate and through the park were very friendly! Lisa from the membership department is awesome!
Its come along way. Definitely worth a visit. San Diego Zoo still champ.
One of the better zoo s in the state.giant crocodile.and huge zebras.a must see.youngbo.moneymobbn..
