When I went there the animals were all asleep (even if they weren t nocturnal), I was there for a while and never saw some of them up and about. The enclosures were over grown and dirty, and a lot of them had rats/mice in them. I hardly ever saw staff, honestly it was so understaffed most of the kiosks and snack areas were closed. It was almost like the whole zoo was run by five people. Overall, I think this zoo definitely needs to be checked for neglect.

!!Beautiful!!

!!Beautiful!!
Tips: take plenty of water and lunch because if they let you in and enjoy it because at least me and my family took 6 hours to visit it !!

Nice place for families to visit Christmas lights but understand you will not be seeing any animals at night since those sections are blocked off since most animals need the night to be dark and quiet.

Took my grandchildren for the day. The glass enclosures where dirty making it hard for the little ones to see. The food was over priced similar to eating at Disneyland. Some of the animals were pacing and the poor Orangutans climbing on chain link fence just broke my heart. The enclosures are why to small for the big animals. The best thing was the petting zoo and the caves.

Zoo is amazing! Perfect place for the kids as they should be able to understand how beautiful nature is! Here, outside food is allowed so take all food you need. You can buy cute stuffed animals as well for your little one.

Excellent zoo. Lots of different types of exotic animals. Very wooded. Excellent food services. Be prepared to stay at least four hours. It's a bit difficult to navigate, very confusing layout. But you will enjoy it anyway.

I bought a membership earlier this year. It has been a great experience for my 3 year old. Free parking, reasonable food prices, and a good workout. The animals are fed during the talks which I think is the best time to go. Check the times on the map provided when you walk in.

What a great zoo and in our very own backyard. The animals look to be taken care of with much love and TLC. The park itself is great and no matter ow many times you come you are bound to go a different route or discover another animal you might have missed the last time.

I grew up coming here and now I bring my 3 boys ..but it seems like every time we go (I've been a member for at least 16 years) half of the exhibits are closed or being cleaned supposedly.. these days you hardly get to see much...its sad.and disappointing..after pulling the kids around in the 95* heat all day only to see monkeys eating their poop it makes me reconsider renewing my membership...weve only seen elephants out once..last time no lions either ...whats with the decline...seems to be heading in the wrong direction and not grasping the attention of children..just letting them down..what dose that say for the future?

A great visit to the LA Zoo once again! Being a deluxe member is really a benefit, we get 3 adults and 7 kids in for free. I enjoy the zoo more than amusement parks, since the kids learn about nature and get extremely excited to see all the animals. The food is okay, not great, burgers, fries, salad and the like, but you don't really come to the zoo for food anyway. Go see the elephants, they've put in a lot of work on that exhibit and it shows.

Although a rainy day, we went to the zoo for a birthday party. What a great party! The zoo catered a terrific meal and the curators were informed and friendly!!!!! Great place to visit and to gather with friends and family.

Everything looked dirty and animals looked unhealthy and there were animals missing in their sanctuary which goes to show me you guys really don't care how the animal lives at all everything was fake secenery real misery.I also suggest you tell your paying costumers when your about to close atleast 5 minutes before instead of chasing everyone out really really close with the security's car seemed very unprofessional for sure last time im visiting.

This is a great place for kids and adults alike. It is local, entertaining for the kids and a great workout for the parents. It offers a good assortment of animals and insects for all to see and learn. Makes for a great weekend getaway, and help support a local zoo.
