We have their membership because my 4yr old Loves animals. I must say they have made improvements throughout the years that s why we decided to buy the membership for another year. I wish they would close around 5:30-6PM only because traffic even right outside the parking lot is insane and sometimes we just rather wait in our car for a bit before we start driving and it makes a huge difference but the zoo has no control over that. We love coming to the zoo with our children regardless.

I Bring large school groups they always seem to have a great time. And the staff are great ,the zoo is laid out very well.

Went there for "Wild Nights", d.j. and concert in summer. We had a blast!!!

I must say this is a very nice zoo. The layout was good and had most animals you would expect. The food and ticket was a little expensive for what you receive, hence the 4 stars.

I love this zoo - it's an amazing way to get a little walking exercise in and the staff is very nice. My only complaint was having to pay extra for the dinosaur exhibit last year, but I suppose that's understandable, considering the cost of putting it in.

Knowledgeable staff and well taken care of exhibits. I only take off a star because some of the enclosures seem to noticeable depress the animals, especially the very tiny lion enclosure. We came on a quiet day and around feeding time so most of the animals were out and pretty mellow. Pay attention to the map because there's lots of winding trails and dead-ends to get lost in, but if you pay attention it's not bad to navigate. The mini scavenger hunt is a fun distraction to get you to see most of the zoo.

One gorilla just... stared at me while he ate. We just stared at each-other really, it was an odd feeling, I'm not sure who was more uncomfortable lol

Had a blast. Got a tour of the zoo from this guy named Moe. He has a lot of knowledge of the animals and made our experience even more fun

Is a very nice zoo, the food is kind of expensive and if you want to know all the zoo you have to be there early and in some cage there's no animals.

This rating is for the LA Zoo Lights. I was disappointed, I though there would be animals to see but about 90% of exhibits were closed. Lights are nice, just not "oh my gosh! I need to come again" nope. I'll just go on a general day. The price did not add up to the hype.

I came here for my daughter's bday,everything was perfect all day! UNTIL I WENT TO THE CAROUSEL AND NO ONE WAS AT THE STAND SO I COULD PURCHASE TICKETS....SO WE DECIDE TO WALK TO THE CAROUSEL AND SAW TWO GIRL AND ONE GUY. ONE THE GIRLS WITH GLASSES SAYS WE HAVE TO BUY TICKETS FIRST. SO I REPLY,WHERE? THEIRS NO ONE THERE. SHE THEN POINTS AND I SAY NO ONE IS THERE!? AND SHE LOOKS AT THE GUY SITTING NEXT TO HER AND HE GETS UP AND HEADS OVER.WE PROCEDED TO WALK BACK TO BUY TICKETS AND HE CHARGES SOMEONE BEFORE US AND MAKE US WAIT DOESN'T APOLOGIZE AND THEN WANTS TO CHARGE MY HUSBAND FOR ANOTHER TICKET TO RIDE WITH MY DAUGHTER WHEN ADULTS CAN RIDE STANDING FOR FREE!!!! NEXT TIME STAY IN YOUR POSITION AND DO YOUR JOB. THE LADY IN THE GLASSES (HEAVY SET) SAID HE WASN'T THERE BECAUSE IT WAS EMPTY? NO EXCUSES YOU GET PAID TO DO YOUR JOB RIGHT. IF YOU WANT TO CHIT CHAT GO HOME! The day I went was 5/22/17 from 10am to 3:46pm

Tickets need to be bought early online, park is at 25% capacity but it is nice not having all the people there

A very good place to have fun and learn from nature ..

I loved the zoo. Had got bad referrals but actually turned out to like it. It's very big and it's a lot of walking but maps are provided. This was the first zoo I've been to. When we went parking was $10 it said free parking was full. They provide a shuttle to drive you around the zoo for a charge.

Wonderful place cute animals fun the food was good my daughter and I went together on a school feild trip. Anyone who loves animals should go wonderful gift shops they have everything. Hear the sounds is amazing

Things to note.
1. They do have places to buy food and have vegitarian options. But.. it is not that good. They do allow outside food so bring it on in and head to the picnic area. Also their drinking fountain water is Disgusting bring water.
2. The bird show is worth going to... so check the times when you get there.
3. If you are bringing kids there is a playground. And a carousel for a few dollars.
4. When it is too hot you won't see much but they have two indoor exhibits to hide from the heat. Reptiles and nocturnal animals of Australia.
5. Parking is free

Easy to get through, lots of beautiful animals and plants - all well taken care of as well. Also don't miss out om the Tasmania devil(s), they are great to watch.

The Zoo was great! They are open with reservations and mask restrictions but it was not that crowded and a VERY pleasant experience!! Go!!

This zoo has been getting nicer and nicer. It's a great place to bring the little ones.

They have been making some major additions here and it's actually worth it to visit often. The animals are always nice to see, and the environments they are kept in are themed and interesting.

The play area for the kids is nice.

They need to start renovating and a lot of the animals need larger habitats.

I'm not from L.A., but if I was, I'd buy a membership to this zoo. It's a great way to spend 3 hours with kids in the area. It's very low key - the docents are always there to talk to, and the animals are not in weird jail cells. It feels like a beautiful park with animals in it. I recently visited for the second time - 8 years apart - and its as good for 9 years old as it was for 1 year olds.

I go there for one thing and one thing only.and that is to see the two hippos.

MARCH 19 2017 I TOOK MY SON TO SEE PJ MASK GOT THERE AT 10:45AM GOT IN LINE WAS WAITING ABOUT 2 HOURS THEN THEY COME AND SAY COME BACK AT 1:00PM AND YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO SEE PJ MASK NEVER DID SO SAD FOR MY SON AND ALL THE CHILDREN

Great family fun. If it s cold out, go early as some animals huddle by the heaters and aren t active.

That I can tell you a place that you can not miss if you are walking through the Ageles C A.

It's a nice place to go and of course take long walks. My 7 yr old daughter loves going so I take her as often as I can and just let her guide me through the zoo with map in hand.

There are so many people on weekends that there are not many animals on weekdays.
I have to eat ice cream.
Four companies eat ... The price is not cheap but it is delicious

Pretty pricey for the entertainment they provide. My little one only likes to go for the face painting and animal umbrellas they have.Most of the animals are always hiding or moved for renovations.The zoo at night is not for kids,mostly good for pics with the light shows.

A very family friendly place to bring little ones. The bird show is one of our favourites!

Good variety of animals, in decent looking habitats. Highlights we're the orangutans and Tapir. And leopard.

Great place to walk around, I would recommend going in the morning. Animals and plants are great.

Morning is the best time to go! If you can go on an early entry day (8:30am!), it's the best! It's not too hot or too crowded and the animals are more active. The playground in the back is a great place to let the kids burn off some energy. Also be prepared for a lot of walking (bring a stroller or wagon for younger kids who don't want to walk all day).

Great family time! They're redoing a lot of stuff and it makes the zoo much more fun.

This is a clean zoo! Lots of attractions, reasonable priced food and drinks. I wish the ticket prices would lower at a certain time but other than that its great!

There is so much to do and see. Lots of babies out, from snow leopard to chimpanzee to giraffe and I m sure more we didn t see. Enough to keep you occupied all day.

Larger animal species seemed extremely depressed being in such small closures. You can see animals pacing back and forth in their cages aka jail cells. The park is gigantic but for some reason the animals receive the smallest enclosures. The lions have barely any space and the young elephants was pacing back and fourth. A clear sign of depression and boredom. Please increase the size of your enclosures. We don't need such large walkway paths taking up most of the parks space!

First Time Coming To This Event At LA Zoo Lights And We Had a Great Night. Everything Was Amazing.

Kinda depressing for the most part. Horrible staff, pathways were a bit dirty.

When I purchased my ticket (seperate from the other two people in my party), the window guy gave my ticket to the stranger after me and then looked at me like a moron when I came back to tell him he forgot to give me my ticket. He said "he has it", as if it's normal to give someone's ticket to literally anyone but them.

The animals were cool though. But let's be honest, that's like judging a movie theatre on the quality of the movies.

I loved the perfect weather and there weren't many people.

Such a fun place! Easy to get to and not too bad in price! I came here with my family and we had a blast!!! Paid for preferred parking just cause! Lots of attractions to have fun all day. :-)

The zoo lights were awesome. My 2 year old had a blast.

Went to LA Zoo Lights was a nice experience give you a good holiday feeling.

Amazing zoo. Open exhibits. Very well keep. Reasonably priced. Pretty large size. I spent about 3.5 hours to walk the entire zoo (would add time if you plan on eating lunch or have kids with you).

Great place clean and greatly groomed. The flowers and the trees make you feel in the jungle or at the desert. Great feeling. The shuttle there is great, takes you all the way in a Safari adventure.

I came here on my honeymoon and it was a huge mistake. You know the horror stories they tell of zoos that only exist for entertainment purposes? This was definitely one. Overheard a zookeeper telling a visitor that the flamingos were wildcaught. Theres no conservation efforts at all so God knows where these animals came from. It smells awful, some exhibits looked so old and run down. The poor baby komodo dragons exhibit was all dirty, the windows, you could barely see through them. But yay for free parking. Made up for that cost with how expensive the gift shop was. Dont come here. Go to the Aquarium of the Pacific instead.

Nice zoo where most of the animals seem to be quite happy and well taken care of.

Awesome place to visit on a full stomach on weekdays!

It's a pretty nice place to visit. Nothing overly spectacular but the bird show is entertaining and my son enjoys interacting with the animals they bring out every now and then.

I love the size of the zoo because it's not overwhelming and one is able to see all the animals. Also one can feed giraffes, its great.

This review is specific to the holidays. I don't know what I can say beyond look at my pictures. This place is fantastic. The lighting displays are out of this world. So many unique colors and designs and they have some real cutting edge lighting displays that must be seen to be believed. Many of the displays are choreographed with music. Take a ride on the carousel listening to holiday music. This is a great way to spend an evening and it will really get you in the spirit. As an added bonus, many of the shops have unique holiday items for sale.

Super busy over memorial day weekend but it's a nice zoo with free parking!

You have to look at the time after 2:00. I do not recommend entering x that all the animals already have them locked, eye eye.

At least something to do,, in big city unless its so bored to live down on coast,, in 5 cities , nothing to do, bestside go.on beach,,
And people are much nicer down south,,

Love this zoo, Couldn t get to the whole zoo in a day because of observing the cute little otters.

It is a very good place to enjoy your family day, I highly recommend it to see and above all, much to walk with your family and above all for sure
